Firefox 14.01 and Flash 11.3 questions

I already had problems with Firefox 13 (forget not precisely what version) after having updated with the help of Flash as many others have been. I was happy to see that a 14 v. is now released and updated day hoping that it would solve my problems, but I still have a problem. I feel confident that there is a problem with Flash; I went through and individually disabled and re-enabled Add-ons, and can use Firefox fine when the Flash is turned off and that all goes down hill once reactivated.

In general, my problems are that Gmail, Facebook and many other Web sites does not load when the Flash is activated. They will begin to open, get stuck and the Firefox crashes completely. The Add power - off corrected this and again it brings back.

I have Windows Vista as my o/s.

All additional troubleshooting suggestions? I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox and Flash.

Flash Player 11.4 is now available. It includes fixes for many issues as well as a security update (see Adobe's announcement and the release notes for more details.)

For anyone who may have disabled protected mode in Flash 11.3 and is now updated for Flash 11.4, you should re - edit the mms.cfg file to remove the ProtectedMode = 0 line (reference) to see if the problems are now solved.

This notification is generated by 'Knox Notification Manager', an application that comes pre-installed.

    I know that this problem is probably not exactly lack of Firefox and some other browsers are capable of managing the exact situation even without any problem. You can solve this problem, or is there a configuration I can do to fix this?

    Device: Samsung Galaxy notes 3 (T-Mobile)
    OS: 4.3 Android

    It is interesting that there is no entry about: page of the accident and it's even more bizarre because I can't recreate the situation more crashing! I made some changes in the settings, maybe it somehow have it fixed...

  • I've updated to 41.0 FF and Flash 19; Firefox no longers is asking to activate the Flash, despite telling me to do.

    Previously, I was asked to leave Flash to run in all cases; now it works selectively (as on the Adobe website, but NOT on Youtube). This means that on Youtube (and many other sites), Flash runs without my allowing him to do so. THE BAD!

    For most Firefox users, YouTube is no longer using the Flash and instead uses a HTML5 video player. Here's how to check that:

    Right click on the drive, and you should get a popup to short. The last line of the menu short should indicate if the HTML5 player or Flash Player. If you get the regular Firefox context menu, press and release the ALT key to erase that side of YouTube menu.

    HTML5? Here are a few workarounds to regain control:

    (1) use the extension Flash Control to stop HTML5 video (and Flash video) AutoPlay

    (2) YouTube forces use Flash instead of HTML5. There are a few modules for this. Either of them will do, you don't need both:

  • With the latest Firefox, I get errors on Tumblr and Flash blocking drive almost everytime I watch a video on Tumblr.

    This has been driving me crazy for days now. I've updated to the latest version of Firefox, but whenever I go to a Web page on Tumblr, (my dashboard, my personal blog, blog of someone else) I'm bombarded with error messages saying too "recursion." I get usually anywhere from 3 to 5 messages per page. I went back to 34 Firefox and can now access Tumblr very well, but then I am faced with a different problem. When you watch videos or the vines on Tumblr, they can spontaneously trolling, jigging or stop playing. If I try to resume them, then they might start to play but all the sound elements will be cut. This seems to cause some sort of problem with Flash Player, because after what happens on Tumblr, and then it will happen on ANY video game site that I visit. If I try to watch a video on Youtube, the video will be spasm for a few seconds and then go on static and say "an error has occurred, please try again later." I tested it on other video sites like Blip, and they also cause audio and video bugs. Even if I close Firefox and start it again, the problem will not be solved. The only way I found for fixing injuries is manually reinstall Flash Player (which forces me to reset Firefox anyway). This was a great nuisance, as I had to reinstall the Flash Player and reset Firefox about five times every day for the last week or two. This leads me to consider dumping Firefox for Chrome, and I don't want to do that.

    I can go in chrome without any problem and watch any video without any problem. the second I get into firefox, nothing does. I had this problem on and off for years. I am really really tired of this same problem for years, I stay with firefox, because you are aware of privacy and are always more. I don't know what other details to tell keep you other than that just to be and it makes it very difficult to do anything on firefox, when I can't use something simple like the flash drive. as I said, if other browsers can remedy I see no reason why firefox can not year after year.     If you use extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) which can block content (e.g., Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that these extensions are not blocking content.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    An hour ago, I watched with happiness of the videos from youtube on Linux using Firefox 20.0 and 11.2 flash. I've just updated firefox and it of now my blocking flash and invites me to update. The problem is I can't update because 11.2 is the LATEST version of the flash for firefox plugin, there is no other version.

    Is there a way to prevent the deactivation of my firefox plugin?

    The directory structure, at least for linux, seems to have changed for version 21. I have my distribution of firefox / opt/firefox /, and so far I keep the plugin flash in/opt/firefox/plugins /. Verse 21, the plugin directory should be/opt/firefox/browser/plugins/EC directory does not exist by default. You can create or mv just the old directory of plugin to the new location

    $ cd/opt/firefox / #(ou partout où votre firefox est installé)
    $ mv plugins / browser /.

    Icons / directory has also been moved to that subdirectory, that's why my office firefox button was not correctly displayed after the update.

    -The main thing that firefox really should do is to archive the previous version of firefox, whenever there is an update. It is ridiculous to have to deal with this kind of issue immediately after an update when you have important work to do on time! To do a simple option to temporarily return to the previous version of firefox. It would be trivial to implement and could be used when a new release breaks something.

    I use Firefox 16.0.2 and Flash 11.5 502 plugin keeps crashing. I switch to Chrome or IE and have no problem. If I uninstall Flash plugin Firefox works fine - any suggestions as to what I can do? It happened for about two weeks and I keep waiting for an update of Firefox, assuming you know the problem. I run AVG Free anti-malware, firewall, Zone Alarm and Trusteer report.

    You can export the Favorites to HTML have a backup file.

    • Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > export bookmarks as HTML

    You should always back up important personal data at regular intervals to prevent loss.

    You can also use the Profile Manager to create a new profile as a test to check if your profile is causing problems.

    You can always return to your profile in case is does not help.

    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

    If the new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

    I don't see any plugin support on install Linux Firefox 8 tar.bz2 package. I tried libnpjp2.so and libflashplayer.so to the stable directory, but symbolic Firefox does not seem to recognize people. I can't find any mention of a disabling support for plugins (Java and Flash specifically) on Firefox 8 release notes. Someone else has this problem?

    You can create a folder plugins in the Firefox profile folder and put symbolic links in this folder.

    I had success with that with several people so far.

    Copy the following text (inbold) in a Notepad document (do not use Wordpad or Word because they add the formatting and it does not work):

    c:\windows\system32\cleanmgr.exe/DC /sageset: 1

    c:

    CD.

    CD c:\windows\prefetch

    del *. * / q

    Save it to your desktop as "clean.bat" under "all file types".

    Double click it and your disk cleanup opens, but not as it usually does.

    EACH box in the configuration window, click OK and close.

    Then, right click on the file "clean.bat" and choose 'Edit'.

    When it opens in Notepad, write "sageset" to "ProgramFilesDir" and save it.

    Double click on it and let it run. This will do a "deep cleaning" of your hard drive. This will remove a lot of temporary files that may have an impact on your browser and Flash Player.

    try to update the drive and flash... The download times out every time.  On my firefox, the only line I avaiable on tools is blockup popper.  No line available to activate Java. Try going to readaer 9.5 to 11.0.  Came on a computer that has not been used for a while

    I created a Captivate 4 project with 3 water slides and a pool of about 70 questions question in which I am firing randomly into. I use IE7 and Flash 10. Publication in Flash 10. If I publish or display in the preview in a web browser, the project launches, plays the first 3 slides and then turns off when the first question should appear. Note: the summary of the project AND publish the project as a .exe launch and display all questions correctly. It ends up being a flash security problem. I went on the site of adobe and via the Adobe Flash Player Security Manager"I walked into the hand. SWF generated by captivate the file as a trust and then re-directed the published captivate project and it ran correctly. It is ... what should I do to put in place my project or flash so I can't do this for each new project that I deploy? I don't want to have users to have to go in and add what I deploy as an approved file. It's also a little confused as to why the first three slides played and he stopped the questions... seems as if she is not a file of confidence, that it wouldn't work at all.

    I think I might investigate a temporary web server to host on until things are ready. This is where it will help.

    Providing files to end users, if you copy files on you end up having to explain how to save files. Then have to walk them by setting the Flash security so they can watch properly. It becomes just a pain in the kazoo.

    If you can find a space on the server, you simply download the content and provide a link for users to view the content.

    Other than that, if you are insistent that the copy is the way to fly, I might suggest that you establish a place known where you want everyone else to copy their files. Perhaps C:\TestFolder. Then provide some instructions on how to configure the file with Flash less stringent security. Thence forward, anything that they copy in the file should need no adjustment of security.

  • Question of FlashBuilder and Flash AS3

    I'm heads down working with the tool, FlashBuilder that is heavy AS3 and Flash CSx have used it for years.

    My question: I guess my AS3 skills that I have developed with FlashBuilder will be directly applicable to Flash CSx, correct? I understand that I will need the context of the application of my AS3 code for Flash objects when you work in Flash CSx, but most of the time my skills AS3 ship from FlashBuilder for Flash CS4/5?

    Skills and knowledge of AS3 has nothing to do with editors in Chief/IDE (including CSx, FlashBuilder, etc.) itself. So once you get your hands on AS3 - no matter where you write your code - it will work the same way in the final compiled swf. However, there is a learning curve involved when getting to know the new software as with any new development environment.
