Firefox blocked :-(

My computer purchase had a McAfee program that has since expired. I do not want to get another subscription, but he blocked my Mozilla Firefox and I can't cancel it in the settings because it is obsolete... cannot access the firewall settings. How to bring back my Mozilla?

  • Latest Firefox block reported attack sites...

Hi all, in the latest version of Firefox, the option "firefox block reported attack sites" is enabled by default. My question is, mettle is listed as one of these Web sites. I use mettle to allow people to download photos from events that I cover without having to affect the speed of my site... granted some might use mettle for wrong reasons, but not all.
So, what can I do? Not all visitors to my website would have the knowledge to turn this setting off...

Block page has been enabled by default for years, but blocking download has been added more recently, perhaps around early March when there was a wave of messages on it.

The list of bad sites come from secure Google service. Downloads of Firefox updated lists of blocking at regular intervals. It is questionable to block a whole file, hosting site based on a bad user, so I hope that the next iteration of the data file removes the block; We are all at the mercy of the data on it.

To check where your date file has been updated, you can watch here (type or paste into the start menu search box and press enter or use the Windows Run dialog box):

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

It's the cache and temporary files folder corresponding to your active profile folder. Double-click your most recently updated and secure profile folder. Normally, you will find that the files have been updated within the last day.

Firefox has gone downhill the way in many ways...

I respectfully disagree with you about Firefox...

The code of Firefox is so bad that I only use it as a last resort. Constantly, it crashes and has done this on several PCs in 2 or 3 years.

In any case thanks for the suggestions, but it turned out malware that Panda deleted.

If Firefox is a 'last resort', why you use it to check your emails? Do you use Google Chrome to access Google mail? I've never had problems with Firefox, then maybe I'm just lucky.

Added the: Chrome and IE are coded by companies funded by programmers. Firefox is a program open source funded through donations to not-for-profit, which means that's what users are doing. If the 'bad code' is probably just different, not bad.

  • Why do I get a warning that firefox blocks a popup announcement whenever I check my yahoo mail?

When I try to check my mails the page shakes and I get a warning saying firefox were blocking a pop-up ad. Above all, it happens on yahoo

This seems particularly dramatic. I think that I just get an information bar under the toolbar area when Firefox blocks an inlay menu. The information bar has a button that has a few choices and shows the URL of the popup. What do you see at all?

  • Yahoo said firefox blocks flash

I X10.7.3 of the OS and the latest Flash, but he says always firefox blocks flash when I'm in my yahoo email. How should I do?

Here is what happened: last week, Adobe updated the way they report the Flash version (no Firefox version but the Flash version) as part of a Flash update. It seems that Yahoo Mail didn't update their code to properly control and so it seems (for them) that Flash does not work (they can see that you have installed but does not have the code to check version).

As you probably figured out, you're not actually blocked Flash and this must be affixed to the side of Yahoo.

When I start Firefox (41.0.1), all access to the network is completely blocked. Before you start the FF, I can access the Internet (with Chrome or IE), other computers, but as soon as I launch Firefox, all access to the network (including the connection to other computers) is blocked. In addition, my computer will turn off more.

As far as I KNOW, I have not installed lately extensions or add-ins.

Thank you for your resolution. Today, when I mentioned to work, I was told to update Firefox. This seems to do the trick (so far, fingers crossed!).

(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings) so very probably an extension is causing harm.

When this isn't ' t the resolution, I will surely return to your resolutions.

  • Firefox blocks the pop-up Windows Gmail even after adding exception of Gmail

Firefox Gmail blocks every time I try to open a new window/tab through my Inbox, asking me permission each time. It's a question of low but persistent. I entered the content settings and added Gmail as an exception to the rule of the pop-up and also checked the Info Page to make sure that pop-ups were allowed from Gmail. No solution seems to work. Are there patches? Beyond to allow all pop-ups?

Oh, which explains it. Redirect block is a completely different framework.

  • How can I stop the sweet Firefox blocking plugin Adobe Flashplayer?

I use Windows XP. Firefox keeps blocking of the plug-in asking whether to allow the plugin to run Adobe. How can I get Firefox to stop blocking the flashplayer?

Good news! Adobe released an update yesterday to solve critical problems, he admitted were in the 18.0.0.203 version. You can get 18.0.0.209 on this page:

    https://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

If you are using Windows, look for the line "browser plugin", and you can use the exe or MSI installer.

If you use Mac, there is only a single download to consider.

If you use Linux, unfortunately, the update isn't out yet but should this week

Although it is rare to have a block on the last available version, no one can promise that this kind of block will never happen. If that happens, if you are not accustomed to using the "Request to activate" feature a plugin, here's what to expect:

When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification in the address bar icon and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an information bar slides between the toolbar and in the page area.

If you see a good reason to use Flash, and the site looks trustworthy, you can go ahead and click on the Lego-like icon in the address bar to allow Flash. You can trust the site for the time being or permanently.

But some pages use Flash only for tracking or play ads, so if you do not see an immediate need for Flash, feel free to ignore the notification! It will just sit there in case you later want.
