Firefox broken irrevocably 23.0.1

http://share.PHO.to/3RqAb

I have a random zoom of nowhere random black horizontal bands. Text of random disappearance in the address bar. Text of random disappearance in the menu.

REALLY? You call this an update? He broke the browser for me beyond repair I couldn't access my favorites. All the addons have been disabled (most of them anyway). Safe mode did nothing to help. Resetting the browser has no FACT TO HELP. This isn't an update, that it is a piece of garbage that you sent.

ESCAPE VELOCITY? N ° it's alpha tests on all users who wish to 'stable' version I don't want to not even address them. I use firefox since version 0.7.2 and it is a shame.

You DID a browser which is now WORSE THEN INTERNET EXPLORER. I am removing it and never use again. Any change that has happened to the browser since version 3 and more seems to be broken on a permanent basis. Version 23? Yes well. There were 20 iterations that have led to this piece of garbage that I can't even call a browser anymore.

Adobe Flash crashes.
Shockwave flash crashes.
Java is disabled permanently.
Random blocks on "phishing sites.
Random bugs that persist version after version.
Random memory leaks that eat up my ram any (8 GB of ram).
Randomly everything.

But it's ok we have graphics html 5 and accelerated in a browser. Because I use my browser to play Crysis and HD movies on the pc.

given that I have not seen similar reports on these problems in version 23 specifically here or elsewhere and I have something like this known myself, I have to assume that this is not a general problem in version 23.

It is a mainly managed by the community support forum, we here are normal users like you. so, if you do not want to solve your problem, but just leave your comments, this is probably not the right place to do (we are not responsible for any changes or we can implement bug fixes - developers in general will only read here). I have confirmed that when you load a file:///some/symlink url in firefox 13 you are immediately redirected to the target of the symbolic link. Unfortunately, I think (I'm not 100% sure I'm right on the guilty code) this change has been introduced as part of the fix for bug 670514, which is a security bug which still restricts (http://www.mozilla.org/security/announce/2012/mfsa2012-37.html links to this bug). As I can't see this bug, I can not tell you if the behavior you're seeing now is quite intentional or not, but I'm afraid it's probably.

    I think you can work around this problem by using hard links instead of symlinks. My personal preference would be to use a version control system, so you can track the changes and the two branches, but maybe it's a change more intrusive you are comfortable with.

  • How to save bookmarks on an installation of firefox broken?

    Hello
    Since this morning my firefox does not start because of a unreadable application.ini (no clue what is the reason for this)

    I have no problem with simply deleting and reinstalling firefox, but I want to save my favorites before that.

    so, is it possible to extract from my bookmarks on firefox without starting it? they must be in the files in my folder of mozilla, but where?

    So, you're saying that following the steps described in this section of the article does not show your profile folder?

    Your profile folder is usually in a hidden folder. This could be one of the reasons why you are not able to find it. Please change your windows settings to display the hidden files and folders (see here for instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Show-hidden-files).

    After you change this setting, find your profile folder as described in the article I linked at the earliest. If you can still find not, look for places.sqlite all hard drive (C:, D:, etc.). If you find this file, copy it to somewhere safe. This file contains your bookmarks and history items.

    Let us know how it works for you.

  • Firefox 34.0.5 said plugin Adobe Flash is blocked, but the audit reports to update my plugin Flash (version 16.0.0.235) is underway. How to fix?

    About 1 month ago I have updated Flash and Firefox to newer versions. Firefox 34.0.5, running on Windows XP, SP3, displays Adobe Flash plugin in version 16.0.0.235, but it is now blocked again. No other versions of Flash are obvious. When I choose the screen Flash option to check the plugins are updated, Firefox reports the Flash plugin is up to date.
    This program's behavior is wrong and needs to be fixed. Review at Adobe, current Flash is 16.0.0.305.
    Who or what is broken here? Is Firefox broken and not properly related this newest version of the Flash plugin is available?
    I do not seem to previous versions of Flash installed on the system. This combo of the software was working properly for a while and then become broken, without path appropriate to allow users to resolve the issue. If Firefox is set to 'Block' a plugin, then it * MUST * be configured to easily and * CORRECTLY * allow this plugin to update. Using the latest software, my clicking on the function of "Check for updates" is reporting that Adobe Flash is the most recent version. Arrrrgh!
    I am now back to the "diagnose and repair broken Flash + Firefox" exercise that I just went thru.
    Best solution here would be to allow the user to easily override the mechanism of 'blocking' This could help users who use only access Flash video on trusted sites.
    If there is an obvious solution to this 'blocking' current Flash goofery, please inform. Otherwise, when I solve this problem, I'll post an answer to my own question here, stating what I did to solve this problem, because it seems to have an impact on other users Firefox + Flash, without a clear solution being posted.

    OK, fixed. You must manually update for Adobe Flash 16.0.0.305. Do this downloaded by the installation program Adobe Flash, for WIndows with plugin browsers. Closing Firefox, run the Adobe Flash Installer and restart Firefox, you should see the plugin Flash is now 16.0.0.305. I use Windows XP - SP3, on an old HP box. Seems to work ok now (video sites course streams without incurring of autoblocking). Inspection of network traffic shows smoother bandwidth also.

    Steps to follow:

    (1) download the latest version of the Flash plugin installed, for Windows with plugins, if you are using XP - SP3. Try to get the full 18 meg installer of Flash player.
    I followed a number of different links and eventually got to a page
    who has several options for different operating systems and versions
    the browser used. I chose Flash for Windows Setup with
    browsers that use plugins (as opposed to Windows IE/ActiveX).
    I can't find the exact URL that has the 16.0.0.305 plugin. I'll post
    the URL as a post follow-up, once I found where Adobe has it.

    The file you want is:
    'install_flash_player_16_plugin.exe '.

    Note, date 11 February 2015, the version I downloaded
    called 'install_flash_player_16_plugin.exe' is 18,129,584 bytes.

    I ran "md5sum" on it, and got:

    "1bca2e01063de6925c01b21abf9654d8" as the value of control.

    (2) Download this prgm (install_Flash_player_16_plugin.exe), and
    put it anywhere where you put the .exe files downloaded.

    (3) exit Firefox.

    (4) or use the "Run" box, or click a "cmd" to shell
    for a prompt C:\. Find the Setup program, and then run it. Should be
    update the contents of the directory:
    "C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash".

    (5) you can confirm that the content of this directory is updated.
    Check the content of the file "mms.cfg. It has two lines and controls
    If Flash updates will be automatically, or in the background.
    (I'm paranoid, and disable the auto update... Any program of automatic update
    is a perfect vector for insertion of viruses. Use this approach to your own
    risk.)

    (6) restart Firefox and confirm the Flash plugin is now worm 16.0.0.305.

    This should fix the autoblocking of Flash for the 16.0.0.235 plugin.

  • My firefox is broken, doesn't load pages Web correctly, already filled every regular 'problem solving' steps, what then?

    Some pages Web opens in Firefox, but most will not. My google search bar is broken, and my bar of yahoo search that shows only the broken pages. The adresse_web bar is very little and will open just a few sites. Some who does not include google, wikipedia, youtube, and yahoo.

    I have already completed most of the steps of the 'fixing' issues, including reset, start in safe mode, uninstall and then reinstall remove completely. I added firefox to my firewall allow list. He has done nothing to help the issue, but lost all my favorites, add ons and preferences. I'll have to use google chrome just to get help for firefox.

    Even in safe mode, the problem persists. What should I do to get my firefox working again?

    Thanks for the advice, however another user on the forms of support has been able to provide assistance which solved the problem.

    I would add that by removing and deleting all the data on my computer with firefox, it essentially removed everything that you suggested and also himself removed from my firewall (which I checked before and after). The resettlement of fees and changing the firewall/antivirus do not fix the issue.

    Hello OrDave,

    I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with Firefox 12.0 on Ubuntu, but I don't think that there is much to do since Adobe has decided to abandon the support for Linux platforms and soon, we will have to use alternatives such as Gnash and Lightspark opensource. You might want to try removing it from the software center and perhaps reinstall it from the Adobe Web site (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/).
    If you need additional support, thanks for posting for help on the Ubuntu forums as they will be able to help you still more. You can also join the Ubuntu IRC or ask for help at askubuntu.com.

    Thank you for your patience and for your interest in Mozilla Firefox and I wish you luck in resolving this issue. Please mark my answer as a solution if it was helpful and have a great day!

  • Thumbnails broken in Firefox not in IE

    Hi, I developed a web site, or should I say try to improve it.

    We have installed a miniature generator called Magic picture on this site.
    Now, I get a few thumbnails broken on the site, and these vary with each page load.
    This phenomenon does not occur in Internet Explorer.

    We ran firebug and the headers are back NetworkError: 508 unused for these specific thumbnails.
    We know that this means that the application has pooched our servers resources to get these broken thumbnails, but again once this happens only in FF.

    We know also all the links are correct, because the thumbnails are running under the same script and only about half are affected.

    Why FireFox is slamming Web server resources with its applications?
    I was intrigued with this problem for days now.

  • Behavior of toolbar button broken in WYSIWYG in the latest version of Firefox desktop

    We use a WYSIWYG editor for adding and editing the content of some Web sites that support us. With the latest update of Firefox, toolbar buttons to clean up the contents of the Clipboard as RTF or plain in gray text when the cursor is placed inside the editable text box. This bug is not exposed in any other browser and does not appear in the previous version of Firefox.

    ---

    MORE INFORMATION

    • Toolbar buttons do not disappear when the page is loaded; they can still be clicked to clean up the contents of the Clipboard until the cursor is placed inside the editable text box. While this will not break our editing experience if we could be guaranteed that our site editors have always been paste content into the empty text boxes, we cannot make that assumption. Therefore, the ability to place the cursor within the editable region before clicking on the toolbar buttons is essential and the disappearance of the buttons is a bug.
    • Listed above, this behavior has been isolated as being only present in the Firefox browser, and only on the latest version of Firefox. Is attached a screenshot of the correct behavior, toolbar buttons disappear not when you click on the area of editable text in Google Chrome.
    • When there are several areas of WYSIWYG text on one page, they are the object independently of the other. That is, clicking in grays only editable text one area on the buttons of the toolbar for this particular text box, and others remain clickable until the cursor is placed within their respective areas of editable text. Clicking outside an editable text area does not "restore" buttons to a clickable state. Once they dimmed, they seem to stay like that, unless and until the page is reloaded.
    • Other buttons on the toolbar, such as those to insert/remove the hyperlinks, or make the text bold or italic, are not affected by this bug.
    • Error was replicated on OSX Yosemite, El Capitan of OSX and Windows 7 Enterprise

    Wow, you have a lot of scripts on this page... I see the behavior that you see, test on Windows. (By the way, I had to use HTTP instead of HTTPS.)

    Edit: No errors appear in the browser Console to indicate a problem when clicking in the editing area, so disabling seems to be design in the editor, perhaps caused by a detection or object/property/method version detection problem.

    Your version of CKEditor is quite old now, it seems to be from early 2013 3.6.6; This series had its last updated July 15, 2014 (3.6.6.2).

  • Layout broken on Firefox 64-bit 30

    After the upgrade to Firefox 30, one of my sites is not rendered correctly.

    I run two sites almost identical dotnetnuke (http://www.drawingworkshop.com/ , http://arthouse.tc/arthouse/ ) with the same host. Drawingworkshop.com will properly render in Firefox 30 on Vista 64-bit, but arthouse.tc is OK. Try to track down the problem, I called the host (godaddy), and the guy that I talked to was able to see the problem on his browser. I don't know what system he was using.
    It looks like a problem of style sheet, so I installed the arthouse.tc style sheet in the site of drawingworkshop and still no go.
    The site works fine in IE, Chrome, Safari, and on my android phone.
    Many of my visitors use Firefox, so I need to find a Web site solution that will allow them to view the site properly.
    Thank you.

    The console has been useful and interesting; Thank you. I've identified the problem as Firefox 30 added 40 pixels or more space above the ads, pushing the rest of layout of page around, very well highlighted in the case of drawingworkshop.com. I did a lot of troubleshooting and found the culprit:

    1. dnn_TopBanners a {}

    margin-left: 1px;
    margin-right: 1px;
    margin-top: 0px;
    margin-bottom: 0px;
    }

    I put this in the original stylesheet to correct an inconsistency in which an Explorer of the rendering of the banner does not match "others. I have reset the margins and filling and it seems fine now.
    Obviously the anchor tags have been putting pressure on the content of the ads and causing it to jump a line in the link. There was a lot of width in the div topbanner for ads; It may be that Firefox 30 could not stretch the link to accommodate a margin.
    Thanks for the help!
