  • Firefox crashes when I restart. I found an answer related to the hardware accelerator but cannot find a way to get to it?

When I close firefox and reopen it, it lights up briefly and then crash. I am able to open it by clicking on a link that requires a password and use it from there, but that takes some time and its very annoying. I have a Blocker to add and I don't want to get rid of using safe mode. I read something about turning off hardware acceleration, but when I go to tools, theres no button options. IM also using a MacBook Pro.

You can try to start Firefox in Mode safe temporarily (hold down the option key while starting Firefox) and disable hardware acceleration (Preferences dialog box > advanced > general, uncheck the "Use hardware acceleration when available"), then exit Firefox and try to run normally.

  • Firefox crashed at random during the loading of a youtube video, and after you restart firefox no flash program wouldn't work on the browser

I was watching a youtube video.
    Firefox crashes randomly.
    Restart Firefox
Do not load the YouTube videos.
Other Web sites that uses flash to not load.
Tried the upgrade to a more recent flash, although 11.3 causes use of the CPU for a reason, so I upgraded to 11.2
    Videos do not load.

    Hello

You can try to Uninstall and reinstall Flash. If the problem persists you can also temporarily disable Flash in (Alt + T) Tools > Addons > Plugins and try the HTML5 videos wherever possible. Most of the videos without ads embedded have equivalents of HTML5. You can also try opening the problematic sites in IE Tab + or IE Tab in Firefox.

Update, the pop-up is blocked for these sites to e-mail when you try to attach a document. There is a little, there was a pop-up Blocker warning when I tried to join an e-mail to a Gmail composition window.
To add it to the exceptions list, you can go to:

    1. 3 'bar' menu > Preferences > content > Pop ups and click "Exceptions"... »
    2. Add the url here and then reload the page to see if you can now add an attachment.

Hi ryangates, unfortunately these accidents are caused by security software websense currently running on your system and adversely affect firefox. According to some information, this can be corrected with more recent versions of websense, then you might want to contact your Department and if they could sliding an updated version of websense. otherwise firefox esr can also be an option: the pre-8.1 Websense versions cause outages starting in Firefox

  • 36.0.1 under Windows 7 Firefox crashes on the first click, can't kill processes

After the 36.0.1 on a Windows 7 computer, Firefox crashes after the first click on a link or when you try to open a new tab. I can't kill the process from the Task Manager. Need to reboot to get rid of the process.

My attempts to solve the problem so far:
Uninstalled Firefox & my anti-virus program, removed Mozilla dirs Program Files and AppData and cleaned the registry. Then reinstalled Firefox after the restart, still hangs on the first click on a link. Even impossible to kill the process, help to only to restart.

I tried on another Windows user; does not help. Still the same symptoms.

PS: Related to this thread: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1051108

Thank you for your support. Given the quick succession of versions of Firefox, I just waited out 37. My problem is over now.

  • My firefox crashes! Can anyone help?

I tried to reinstall several times, safe mode, hardware accel, reset firefox. But still, it crashes every few minutes and I get the message "sorry firefox crashed" and the option to send a report and restart/quit firefox

You have also other malware causing accidents for scans with multiple and fully implemented to date tools. In the future try to get comments from the software AND download sites before blindly downloading software.

For example, you have sprotector an addon recently blocked, (* at least blocked for Windows 8 Firefox).

Please post saying what you have tried and how you will.

I wouldn't say you are trying manual hacks or changes to the Windows registry. (Once rogue files are removed any residual registry entry normally will not hurt.)

Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

You must use multiple and up-to-date tools as they will not all be the same things.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus FREE for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.

Upgrade to Firefox 25.0 today. Now I can't restart the computer (it crashes or goes to the blue screen; Win 7) but it starts in Mode safe mode OK and it starts in normal mode if I don't run Firefox since I finally started. This suggests that Firefox 25.0 installation done something for her. How can I proceed? Thank you, Jim.

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • Firefox crashes, impossible to create the new profile, reinstall does not work, can't get into safe mode

Whenever I try to open Firefox, it only open the crash reporter. When I press "Restart Firefox", it just opened another journalist to crash. I use a PC.

I tried all of the following characteristics, does not:

    1. reboot the computer
    2. system restore
    3. Uninstall and reinstall (done this several times)
4 remove the Firefox installation folder
    5. try to create a new profile / use the Profile Manager using "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" - P, firefox.exe-p and firefox.exe - profilemanager - and all of this was, once again, open the crash reporter
6 safe mode - literally impossible even to open Firefox so I don't know how I could do that

I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, if %AppData% does not lead you in the right place you can also manually navigate to the folder with incident reports (you may need to turn on the display of the first hidden files). It is located in C:\Users\ < your user name > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted...

  • How can I restart firefox with the same tabs and windows?

How can I restart firefox with the same tabs and windows?

It is not in the file menu or tools. I get nothing when searching for help. FF still knows how to do it, say to update extensions.

I know that I can do by saving my session, coming out, reboot and restore the session but is there a single command to do this?

    Thank you. -David

I have attached a screenshot showing how to select restore automatic session just above the setting of the Home Page where it says "When Firefox starts".

With this set, you can restart Firefox manually out using the menu-

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

    -and then restart Firefox.

If you want a real reboot with a click of button, you can check something on the Add-ons site: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/

  • 36.0.4 Firefox crashes after the release and I can't uninstall it

I am running Win XP on a 32-bit computer. I have Firefox installed 36.0.4. After I got out of Firefox some time later, I get an error message saying Firefox crashed.

I have tried to uninstall it from the control panel of configuration/Add Remove Programs, but when I select Mozilla Firefox and delete, nothing happens.

How can I remove Firefox from my PC, so that I can then update with a newer version?

If it does not work. Try these:

    • Start > run > type regedit
    • Then go to HKey_Local Machine or Hkey_Current User
    • Scroll to the software on two people.
    • Search Mozilla and you should see Firefox. Delete all files of Firefox, you see.

  • After the last update (today), Firefox crashes constantly. How can I uninstall this last update? I tried to create new profiles and they also crash.

Firefox worked earlier today (August 19, 2013 6:30 pm EDT). When I opened Firefix after it IS 9, Firefox has attempted to perform an update. No error was given, but now Firefox does not start. Run a Windows 8 machine with all the updates and current security with no malware known on my system software.

When I try to start Firefox, the system shows the circle of"work", but then nothing. I created a new profile and got Firefox to start, but whenever I try to go to a website, Firefox crashes.

The last 2 reports of incidents of today:
    InstallTime20130814063812 (content: 1376962029)
    LastCrash (content: 1376969373)

Firefox IS working with Windows 8 in Mode safe (I got a message saying Firefox had not been closed properly) with a new profile. If I used an existing profile, Firefox would start and then close when I went to ANY website or any just not start. I shouldn't be no CRASH REPORT has been generated, just a code updated in the LASTCRASH file.

I have created a new profile, turned off all plugins, redonfigured my security suite of network to start automatically and restarted normally. When Windows came, I launched Firefox with the new profile, went to a few sites only to confirm it worked and then activated the security suite. No problems. I then reactivated some of my plug-ins. I had problems again when all the following plugins have been re-activated:

        -- Java Development Toolkit 7.0.250.16 10.25.2.16
        -- RealDownloader Plugin 16.0.2.32
        -- RealNetworks RealDownloader 1.3.2.28
        -- Shockwave for Director

With these off and the new profile, FIrefox is now working normally. Thank you!

All these reports of incidents and dozens of others are what I have experienced in the last days of Firefox crashing. It has gotten to the point now that I'm almost about to give up the use of Firefox.

Please, if there is someone who can help out me as soon as possible, I need to know what is happening.

I did reset Firefox, I made the Mode safe mode with Firefox, I even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. This... just... continues... THAT PAST! Same deal with Java se, I uninstalled, reinstalled and tried to go even with an older version. This... just... continues... THAT PAST!

Whenever I go to a website to use Java as Facebook, it keeps going on and has been frustrating to no end.

Please, if anyone can understand this point as soon as possible, I really appreciate this, but I am now at my wits end and I need to use this instead of Chrome or any other browser since I am looking for a job.
