Firefox does not ask to save tabs, windows and exit

I've done everything suggested in this article:
https://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/Firefox+does+not+ask+to+save+tabs+an...
In 'Options' settings are ok.
I don't have the extensions/themes. And the problem is still there on the safe mode.
Out of the two files mentioned as maybe corrupted, I deleted formhistory.sqlite but the sessionstore.js file is not in the profile directory, the closing of Firefox (as the article suggests... it is there when Firefox is open)

What is the start setting?

Tools > Options > general > startup: 'when Firefox starts '.

In Firefox 3, you don't get popup "Save and quit" dialog box if you choose Tools > Options > general > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.

If this option is selected then your pages will be already reopened the next time.

To get this pop up dialog box, select one of the other options (display my home page, display a blank page).

You can reset the preferences of warning on the subject: the configuration via the context menu page.

browser.tabs.warnOnClose , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/About%3Aconfig_entries
browser.warnOnQuit , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnQuit
browser.warnOnRestart , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnRestart

To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.

If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page.

Have you looked at the section of the Base names of users and passwords are not saved ? There are lots of good information in there.

If it's only a particular site, you experience problems with, you can also delete cookies from this site in order to make the site you not forget if you have created a remember me cookie by visiting to Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" that there could be a "don't remember" cookie for this site.

  • Firefox does not open more than one window, only opens new tabs. Firefox does not open in safe mode.

Firefox does not open more than one window at a time, and then opens only new tabs. When asked to open the link in a new window - nothing happens, no error message or the page appears. Otherwise, it works great, but no new firefox window cannot be opened menu or the mouse. I tried to reinstall firefox several times, which did not help.

  • Firefox does not ask for confirmation when exit/close with several tabs open

I'm having the same problem as user here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1139845 (only I have different OS)

When multiple tabs open, Firefox ask me never confirmation when I click Firefox close window button in the corner (usually accidentally). And I would like confirmation.

    about: config I have:

true browser.showQuitWarning (it is marked as custom value (bold), default is false)

    true browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab

and when I close Firefox (usually accidentally) I get window of journalist of crash that I submit usually.

Update: claims of a member who never close the confirmation appears for only one Firefox window, only several windows of Firefox. According to me, that this is of people probably half of bad idea is not using multiple windows, only the multiple tabs.

    The-edmeister says

All you need to do is use the Previous Session Restore, either the default value: House in the lower right corner or history homepage > restoration of previous Session. ...

Thank you very much for the input. Indeed, I go to Options/General and together "when Firefox starts:" 'Show my home page' and when I click on X to close the FF button, then asked to FF:

"Want you Firefox to save your tabs for the next time it starts? I click on "Save and exit" when I start FF, tabs are automatically re-open! :-) It's very, very happy.

I never thought tabs will be reopened when the blank page is set initially. And I did not tried because I usually have several tabs open, so do not wanted to risk. For me, the issue is resolved. THX

  • What impression Firefox does not open the print dialog window

When printing to our office, we often print on several printers, not just the default printer. When you print in Firefox, however, printing is automatically sent to the default printer and I do not get a print dialog window. I reset the options Firefox of the printer, change the file prefs.js and started Firefox in safe mode to check if an add-on affect printing - all about nothing done. When I print from Chrome, or (shudder) Internet Explorer, I get a dialog box send me options of the printer. Your help and your responses will be appreciated.

There is a hidden preference to work around the dialog box, but it is certainly not defined by default. To check that:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste print and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) If you find a preference named print.always_print_silent there is your trouble.

Next question would be, where it comes from? A few possibilities:

    (A) a user.js file that overrides prefs.js at startup. See: How to fix preferences that will not save.

    (B) a file lock in the program folder. See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences

  • Firefox does not open a new tab

Firefox has stopped to let me open a new tab. If I click on the sign more, press Ctrl-T, or go to file > new tab, nothing happens. The only way that will open a new tab is if I click on a link in an email, it opens the link in a new tab. I use tabs frequently and it is very annoying to have to go get an email with a link just so I can open a tab. It doesn't matter if I only have a single or several tabs open. I have not installed another thing that Firefox and Windows updates (I have Windows 7). I am running Firefox 24.0 but the problem started with the earlier version.

Try Firefox Safe mode to see how it works there.

A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

The problems of Firefox using Firefox SafeMode

    • You can open the mode without failure of Firefox 15.0 + by pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

If it's good in Firefox Safe mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

    http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes

Or it could be caused by hardware acceleration.

When find you what is causing that, please let us know. It might help others who have this problem.
