Each of these accidents is related to nmSvc.dll module, which is used by a program called Covenant eyes. A bug report on this issue was tabled at the time of Firefox 12 Beta2 - 2012-03-23. Mozilla developers have not been able to reproduce these crashes on a regular basis. Firefox regression test went all the way back to Firefox 4; decision has been made that this issue is related to the implementation of the Covenant in the eyes and was not a regression in Firefox.

Conclusion was not to use the Pact to the eyes.

Windows 7 with the latest updates. Latest Firefox 38.0.1.
Typing slows down to the point that it's frustrating and I need to restart firefox. When the computer reboots, all right. Then after a day or two, it slows down again. I have run Norton malware scans. Hardware acceleration disabled. No other applications running.Almost ready switch to Chrome...
Suggestions?
Thanks to all those of you who looked at my problem and made suggestions to solve them.
I decided to go there and try Chrome.
Since it was not an agreement on the solution to my problem solid (different approaches have been proposed) and I had already tried one number of other approaches based on firefox help, I decided that I had invested enough time to solve the problem and that I would move.
I always use firefox on my other computer with Windows Vista because I do NOT feel the creeping slowness problem and that he had to constantly restart firefox to regain normal performance on this computer. It uses the same version of firefox.
Thank you all...

In the Blackboard, I need not to open a new tab in Firefox. Before the last update, it was fine, but now when I click on a new choice (that is, the notebook) it always opens a new tab. The administrator of my Bb says it's a browser problem. I can right click to open a new tab, but there is no choice not to open a new tab.
You can check some prefs on the topic: config page:
- 1: active tab; 2: new window; 3: new tab;
For links opened via JavaScript, you can watch this pref:
You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Firefox 38 update hangs during the rsyslog config on LinuxMint 17.1 cinnamon?
Hello
I used LinuxMint Update Manager to update the packages as usual.
Firefox presents itself as an update, so I took that too far.
In the middle of the installation while it configures rsyslog, it hangs after the display of "syslog user already a member of adm.
He remained there until I disconnected and restarted hoping that should clear up the shot.
Now, any use of apt dpkg or apt - get comes up with an error message saying to run ' dpkg--configure - a "which I did and ends up in the same time.
Help? Caesar.

It just happened during the filling in the details area. Firefox has agreed a text then froze. I just erased it by opening the program to the trash on the desktop (it seems to work with any program, I've tried). I had this problem for a few months and is not fixed by updates. It happened twice during the minting of these details. Although I can fix it, it's very annoying. I have no other problems with Firefox.
This could be potentially because of Add ons or extensions that handle auto completing forms. I recommend that you first make sure that each of your add ons and extensions are up-to-date:
- https://LastPass.com/upgrade.php?fromwebsite=1 & releasenot...
In order to eliminate add ons or hardware acceleration, try Firefox Safe Mode:
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:
- Click the menu button
click Help
then select restart with disabled modules.
If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:
- On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
- On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."
If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

Recently, whenever I run Firefox, an arrow appears, pointing down and quickly disappears to the top of the screen. I'm not trying to download something, it is whenever I run Firefox. At first I thought I was seeing things, but verified by concentrating just to catch, it appear and disappear. See no reason for this. I use Firefox for years and it's never happened before. Furthermore, it does not appear on my IE browser.
Never mind. I found the problem and it was a program that was trying to download it, but couldn't all the time. I removed from the Firefox download page.
Status: solved!

30.0 Firefox is so slow since updated. IE & Chrome not having problems loading pages, showing the blank pages, need two or more tests to open Web pages. It seems to have something to do with the Visual data on the pages. My MSN homepage gets old and dies every time I open the page after the re-opening and closing of firefox. It takes forever! What is a memory drain? Each open page in a new session of firefox suffer the same fate.

Firefox hangs for a while when the download window appears
Whenever I have start a file download (regardless of its size), Firefox hangs for a few seconds, sometimes more. I deleted the downloads.sqlite file and it helped for a few days but it started happening again. I deleted new downloads.sqlite but this time it would not help. I even installed the add-on DownThemAll as suggested some people, but it happens with it also.
I use Firefox for 7-8 years now and never had any problems that cannot be solved, but this more a few more freezes or crashes from time to time starts to be annoying. I have all the major browsers installed because of my job, but kept FF as a default, but I'm starting to consider a switch after all these years.
Can someone suggest a soluton? And I do not consider disabling the pop-up downloads a solution.

I had problems with the past 3 updates to Firefox, but the latter seems worse. From a few hours, all Web sites are load incorrectly, to the point where I'm unable to use the Firefox link to reinstall Firefox. I run a scan complete on my computer yesterday so I know that it was OK from about 18:00, 14/02/12. Before 2 o'clock, I had problems with only a few sites and had the same problem with the past 2 updated - I am unable to use the adobe flash plugin. If I install the plugin, e-mail links do not work - I can't move from email to the internet easily. I am really lost patience with Firefox. It now lasts at least 6 months of market, with most of the time not good.
After looking under the alleged browser and the OS, I currently have no Adobe plugin for the aforementioned reason.Since yesterday, I had 2 updates from Microsoft! Now that these have been installed, Firefox works well with Adobe flash too. All this is crazy.
At least I can use Firefox again and completely for the first time in ages.

When going through the process of downloading with social monkee and reach the point add it to firefox, I get the following message: "social Monkee cannot be installed because firefox is unable to modify the required." How can this be repaired?
Which is usually caused by a lack of unpacking the directive (< em: unzip > true < / em: unzip >) in the file install.rdf to this extension.

When I have 2 or more tabs open in my browser I want to close Firefox and save the tabs so when I open it again the sites will return. Use to do this, but something needs to happen. begin to close, now it asks me if I want to save sites
If you still want to open the sites that you opened before, in the Options dialog box, go to the general Panel and make sure that the parameter 'When Firefox starts' is set to ' show my windows and tabs from last time '. You will not be asked to save the tabs because they are automatically registered.
If it is set to one, but sites do not open when you start Firefox, open your profile folder and delete sessionstore.js and if there are sessionstore.bak. For more information on how to find your profile folder, see the article of profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data . Who can help if the file that stores the details of the session is corrupt.

Need to reset firefox every time the computer is off at fast speed
Firefox is slow to respond, I tried to reset, which works when the computer is again the initial term. However, when the computer is restarted, return to slow scrolling problem.
You have disabled hardware acceleration? (not solved reset is usual)
You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).
Then perform the following steps:
- Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
- In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
- You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
- Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
