Firefox infected by external advertising

My Firefox has been infected with external advertisements. I'm in the United Kingdom, but the ads are for U.S. goods and generally for diet pills, face lifts sites to earn money. Ads on occult a widow/s and if a adblocker is used the Exchange to the black box. The screenshot shows three ads. One to make money, plan advice miracle and get $80 google banner. I tried several solutions and nothing is getting rid. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, ad blockers don't work and have used a number or solvent of ad ware and all do not work. Virus scans etc all do nothing to get rid of the problem. Have you any suggestions?

Kind regards.

It looks like you can have some sort of malicious software on your computer. Let's try the following:

  • Firefox uses pop - ups advertising for revenue?

I think installation of Firefox, but I don't believe in a "free" lunch ERGO my question.
How can 'give away' Mozilla Firefox? It is supported by advertising pop-ups or sale of navigation data collected?

    This has happened

    Don't know how many times

    User Agent

    Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729 .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; NET4.0C)

The only advertisement popup you get overrides popup blocking is against malicious software, already installed on your system to your browser hijacking. This is all browsers, not just Firefox.

How do we know this? Popups will never happen on non-windows operating systems where there is no malware.

  • Can I install Firefox on an external hard drive?

To save space on my C drive, I would like to install it on an external hard drive. So I downloaded the installer, but it automatically installs on my drive C. is there a solution to this? Danielle

Yes, you can install Firefox on another drive, but the 'big' of the Firefox files will end up on the drive that contains the operating system AppData folder. As the browsing history and saved bookmarks accumulates, the ratio comes from 10 to 1 or more.

  • Whenever I run Firefox junk tab with advertisiment game or Russian forum opens.

When I try to close the tab, another opens and offers to receive a gift. Only 'Leave page' button on the screen to finish closing unwanted thing, but next time Firefox starts, it opens again, usually with different forms of web content.
Kaspersky IS and Malwarebytes didn't find anything. So I guess it's sort of configuration stuff, but I can't find were pick up the unwanted "opener of the tab.

Thank you very much! This was the case. Stupid, I've been to don't not to watch this simple thing, especially after correction of similar problem with my IE shortcut which I thought myself.

Shortcut was the URL 'firefox.url' file with content as in the attached picture.

Sometimes the air forms the side help! Especially when you focus your efforts to try to find the cause of the problem were it is not (try to find malware responsible for trouble when the syntax simple question is to blame).

  • Cisco ACS 4.1 for external advertising for authentication

    Hello

We have just configured Cisco ACS 4.1 solution engine and using a Windows 2003 domain controller as a remote agent.we use as Protocol Ganymede.

Users that are created in ACS himself are able to connect to various network devices. but users in domain (active directory) can not connect. We get the access denied message. same time we get external DB is not operational message in ACS.

Active directory server where agent that runs in CSWINAgentlog, we get the following error 'NDLIB'... FOUND 0 TRUSTED DOMAIN.

Could you please help us to isolate the problem.

    Thank you & best regards

Make sure that the worm of acs and remote agent software is the same. And also execution of remote agent account must have special domain administrator rights, like the act as part of operating system and log in as a service.

  • How can I disable the bar advertising for Firefox iOS & Android?

I recently started to see a pop for Firefox iOS and Android advertising when I use Firefox on Windows 7. It takes the form of a notification, just bar below the URL bar read 'bring your bookmarks and passwords with you. Firefox is now on iOS and Android', with a 'Get it now' button and an 'x' to close right (see screenshot attached). I've closed more than once with the 'x' and it keeps popping up (perhaps only once per session, I don't know).

I would like to get rid of this annoying little announcement. I looked through: config and settings of the ordinary, but I have not been able to find a way to remove it. Adblock Plus doesn't help, of course, because the announcement seems to be integrated into the browser itself. Anyone know how to stop this thing nagging me everytime I open my browser?

Sorry, this is a message from the heart function. She undergoes a bug right now. Better to turn it off if you can get immediate relief.

To turn off the heart rate:
Talk openly about: config config in a tab, then search for browser.selfsupport.url and double click on it and set it to an empty value.

You may need to restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

  • Ad virus connected to the Firefox files?

This virus attacked me last time and the only solution was to restore my computer to factory conditions. Almost a year after I restarted my computer, the virus attacks again.

The virus infects my Firefox browser by putting ads everywhere. If I click on the place that seems empty, I'm redirected and sent to some bogus site. They even changed the text in links and these texts have little pop ups. I went if a video downloaded and launched Malwarebytes, CCleaner, ComboFix and ultimately got an Adblock Plus plugin. All these were very helpful with other viruses but the Firefox infecting a lived again everything. I tried to search in the program files for all files that may seem bad and remove some that resembled advertisements of virus, but nothing has changed. In addition, I could have jumped on the file that infects Firefox but I aimed for files with funny names. I did the 'Control Panel, programs, uninstall"but can't find the"name"(the name of the virus will be shown on the pictures). I tried all the ways to get rid of a virus.

I tried to get help on a forum, but got recommendations for programs I already have (Malwarebytes was the most common request and I have already and he ran). Even programs that I did not like Eset, I am sure that it will be useless to me. The only thing I learned from this forum is that nobody knew what I was dealing with and backup and restores are my only solution.
I want to know what this virus is, instead of having to back up and restore all the time. And I don't want to continue to get suggestions for other programs.
The photos must be donate death for anyone who knows really what it is. Images show ads by "name", but the last time I had this virus, the announcement has not called 'name' before, so it must be the type of virus to change his name? I do not know.. But I went on a site (I won't post his name, but the web address looks trustworthy) who told me how to uninstall 'name '. I don't know that it's the only site that actually meet the virus as 'name' because google-ing 'ad virus name' does not help. But the site told me to 'Control Panel, programs, Look for name, uninstall. The only problem was that I couldn't find 'name '. I even tried to uninstall programs that could be 'name '. So the common solution for this kind of thing is downloading viruses such as Malwarebytes protections or uninstall programs. But none of these things do not work

I don't know why the picture does not, but I have three. I use Puush which is a screenshot system. If you do not click on the links, I'll try my best to explain what the picture shows:

http://PUU.sh/h0sbn/c313188901.PNG On the bottom of the ad, it says "Ad by name".
http://PUU.sh/h0szu/c4f1316f0c.jpg My system puush is spammed pub left and right with "name".
http://PUU.sh/h0sxb/e16477127d.jpg This is what I saw last time, except the virus was not called 'name' before. The gift for this one is green, black and white with three boxes. A box especially gave me an option to disable or 'subtract', 'name '. I disabled it and to my great disappointment, nothing has changed.

If you do not click the links, the farm I could get to my image is that of google search. Basically it's the one that says "Ad by name" but different https://www.google.com/search?q=ad+virus&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=WWUjVY3tBsnHsAWCiIHIAg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg&biw=1024&bih=631#imgdii=_&imgrc=NzAY_yMxQe5MEM%253A%3BvGyGVfB78cU6hM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252F4.bp.blogspot.com%252F-rz3Lk6ksy98%252FVBiIkBtOlSI%252FAAAAAAAAHYU%252FM3A4YjAH81o%252Fs1600%252Fastro_arcade_ad.png%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fdeletemalware.blogspot.com%252F2014%252F09%252Fremove-astro-arcade-ads-virus-removal.html%3B378%3B285

Yes, you can't reason with malware like this... or trusting its buttons...

When you reinstalled, you probably did not remove the Firefox program folder, then I suggest to try it this way:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it is not about the deletion of your settings, it comes to ensure that program files are-own and contain no alien code files. As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (1) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 37.0.1 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ of a great location if you have an older one. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (2) close Firefox (if applicable).

    (3) to rename the program folder

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

    (4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    Any difference?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \OldFirefox\Plugins
    • \OldFirefox\browser\plugins
  • Firefox blocks some ads (non-secure content)

I noticed since the update 41 Firefox crashes some adsense ads from time to time, but not always.
When this happens Firefox displays an icon on the PlayBar to address
"Firefox blocks the content of this page.
    and
    "Unsafe content.

If I run Firefox in safe mode, I still get the same problem. The pages are served over http, not https if it matters. I can't disable protection manually and it works, but I wonder if this is a problem with some insecurities ads by Google, or Firefox incorrectly reports certain advertisements as non-secure.

OK - http://www.gstatic.com - is a non-secure server and Firefox do not have mixed content like this on a page secure otherwise.

  • Strange adds on Desktop Mozilla firefox browser

    Hi all

The past two days, I see that my firefox is used for advertising, I don't know who if mozilla itself it ot not, but I see a text many of the double line adds i.e infolinks and popup adds on each site, I opened, even popups on Fb and twitter some time on google.com, all sites work perfectly well on all other browsers on my pc but firefox. Please see if something needs to be done with my system.

    Kind regards

This isn't because of Mozilla or any version of Firefox from mozilla.org

Looking at the details of your system (to the right of your message) looks like it is due to the expansion of the Site Finder is an adware that makes the things you described. It doesn't come from Mozilla, nor is it hosted at addons.mozilla.org

  • Shortcuts to other programs only open in Word 2007 after upgrading to Firefox 17

I already have shortcuts to Volgistics and Facebook on my desktop when I've recently updated to Firefox 17. Since the update, these shortcuts directly from these programs to Word 2007, which opens the program read-only in Word 2007. I can, however, connect with a program by ignoring the shortcut manually by typing in its url.

If you open internet files in Firefox in an external program, then the files are uploaded in the folder read-only folder.

Read-only for these files is a precaution to prevent dataloss because it is not guaranteed to keep the files in the folder if you close the application and return to Firefox.

If you want to edit such a file, then you must use Save as and save the file under a different name.

  • How to import bookmarks from an external hard drive?

I exported my favorites from firefox on an external hard drive. Now I have a new laptop, but do not know how to transfer these back to firefox bookmarks.

It is no different to import from a hard drive on your own machine. The external hard drive has a drive letter on the same way as a HD internal.

Just use the reverse procedure, you made to export the file i.e. choose "Import HTML" instead of "export HTML".

If you saved it in. JSON format, then choose 'Restore' in the menu "import and backup" instead.

  • Firefox doesn't have a link to another site

I have an image in my web when you click on the page that is supposed to take the Viewer to another external web site.

I've implemented with Dreamweaver CS4, and it works well with IE6, Google Chrome, but not Firefox.

Please can someone advise how can I modify my code to have Firefox open this external page?

    Hello Jill.

First of all, you can have a problem with an extension or plugin that is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

If this isn't the case, you can provide a link to the page or download the page (if it is always offline) that we can see what is really happening?

  • A backup can be infected by viruses/malwares?

    Original title: Windows backup.

A virus/malware free at the back of the folder windows hard disk even can be infected by viruses and malware.

Or this type of backup is immune to the virus. ?

    Thank you.

    Hello, Ivan

Essentially, if a virus/malware program is running, any resource available to Windows can be affected by the latter.

If your computer is clean and you create the backup on an external drive, disconnect the drive, then being infected, the external hard drive is not affected.
If you plug the outside while the infected windows are started, there is the risk of backups being affected.
If you start a recovery / Windows DVD to reinstall Windows or restore an image backup and you plug your outside, you should be fine.
