Firefox is faster on the safe mode. Even when I disable all extensions and plug-ins, it does still work on normal mode. What should I do?

I already tried to uninstall e install again, but rest the problema. When I use safe mode, firefox works correctly. I tried to remove all extensions and plug-ins, but the problem persists. Even my mouse pointer moves slowly around firefox screen when the normal mode. I have synced with another computer and I have no problem with each other.

Hello lgm11, try turning off hardware acceleration and check again (in safe mode hardware, acceleration is disable).

Thank you

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;

Type of topic: preferences #advanced< enter > in the address bar.

    Under Advanced, select General.
Find and stop using hardware acceleration.

Search web sites secure. Are there problems?

Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off temporarily
hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables
-Add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem disappears,
that tells us something. If it is not the case, this tells us something else.

  • 18 FF crashes when I close more than 1 tablet, that doesn't happen in mode without failure, but even when I disable all the illustrious plugins, extensions etc the problem occurs.

I went through the steps on the help page of Mozilla theme checked by default, unchecked hardware acceleration disabled plugins and extensions. FF still crashes when I close a 2nd tab. Can I close a tab.

Thanks to the posters who have taken their time to answer for me. I asked this question on a forum and one of the posters gave me the solution of the problem.
Of course, it was a conflict between Norton and FF18. I upgraded my Norton (we have a subscription for 3 years, so it was free) to version 20.0.2.19 (latest version) and everything works like clockwork!

The cloud GENERAL license allows 2 activations http://www.adobe.com/legal/licenses-terms.html

    -Install on a 2nd computer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1452292?tstart=0

-Windows or Mac has no importance... 2 on the same operating system or 1 on each

-Two activations may NOT be used at the same time (noted in the link above of the license)

Since you seem to have a special version through your school, I THINK that you need to disable it on old before installing the new

  • Hi How can I disable the safe mode to allow add ons to work thank you

Hi firefox seems to be in safe mode and all the addons are disabled. How to change this setting

Just restart again normally, without pressing the SHIFT key.

You need to close firefox and wait or to kill the process, including any plugincontainer.exe or simply do a full power down reboot.

  • accidents of 1 second after opening. I also tried the safe mode - the same thing. I just installed the latest and greatest

I started by installing the latest roboform. Then he decided to update itself so I said go ahead. Then he started this very strange process adding each addon, then ask to restart. After a while, I decided to open the screen of each addon, say things to do, saying to continue and move on to the next. I thought I could restart by the end of this process, which was love but not as bad as the restart for each addon.

In any case, once this is done, he began to run and quit smoking. Then I did the safe mode thing and got exactly the same result. I know she was trying to connect to something, and the address was something like newaddon: Oh, she also makes not less than four 4 firefox on my desktop icons when it finished installing.

you ask a bunch of stuff below which I can provide I can't have him.

    You have Roboform installed 7.6.3?

    Or an earlier version?

  • Firefox 4.0.1 shows almost all of the text in bold. I start to record mode and sound fine, but when I disable all the addon then start in normal mode it broke again.

So I updated last night, this morning I noticed that a lot of the text on Web sites are in bold.
For example when doing web yahoo mail unread messages must be "BOLD", while read messages shouldn't be now, they are all "BOLD" anything.
I started in safe mode, thinking that an addon was broken and at the normal search that seemed to confirm that.
So I disabled all the addon and manually restarted in normal mode, the problem was back.

I confirmed all was the addon still handicapped and restarted in safe mode once again, fixed... so I disabled both the plugin and extensions... still broken in normal mode.
At one point I thought it might be the default aspect so I downloaded one that looks like 3.6 and this one broke... again.

So that's what I'm wondering, what is not loaded in safe mode which is always loaded when you manually turn off all extensions and plugin?

This could be a problem with the new features related to the police who are trying to use your graphics card. You can enable those here:

Tools > Options > advanced > [disable] "use hardware acceleration when available.

(It's one of the things that turn off safe mode.)

I don't know if you'll see results immediately, or if you must restart Firefox.

  • Windows XP restarts all the time; does not start mode safe mode and last known Configuration does not work either

Hello! Recently, I installed Wubiand appreciates well. However, a few days ago, when I tried to boot XP on my netbook (EEE PC 1005hab), it restarts just constantly return to the selection screen of the BONES. I tried Safe Mode and last good Configuration known with anything will do. What should I do now? Ubuntu has not stopped working suddenly, so I can't access my data.

I don't have to have a Windows XP CD, there is something weird Asus recovery instead. In addition, it is a netbook so I don't have an optical drive to run the recovery CD. I'm doing a Livecd of Linux USB so I can back up my data... but I can do but reinstall at this point?

    Thank you.

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD drive (even an external).

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If there is a problem starting, XP is configured to automatically try to start again and you can stuck in a loop not being able to go beyond the screen boot options, or none of these startup options you choose will work only.

Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu, it has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

You need to choose in this menu is the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start pressing the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restarts on system failure, and then select it.

You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • Firefox does not open after the update. Cannot open the profile technical, even when you use the directory in cmd line path

I'm using Firefox on a Windows 7 computer. Firefox does not open after the last update. I read the help articles and it seems that I need to create a new profile because my settings were probably corrupted. I'm unable to open the profile technical, even when you use the directory in cmd line path. I tried the following commands in the command line:

    Firefox Pei
    "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla" PEI

    Nothing happens with every order.

I am also running Norton Internet Security. I read a help of virtual navigation features Re article that can cause a problem. The article says to check the setting of virtualization in the internet security software and to clear the virtual cache. I went through all the menus of settings in Norton Internet Security version 21.6.0.32 and I don't see anything that looked like in "virtualization" settings, so I guess that does not apply to me. "

    Hello

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

If that does not read this information

the link below is how to download and get a vista disk startup repair, which you can start from the
