Firefox keeps telling me to update, even though I know that I've updated.

On aid, when it checks updates told me that I am on the last, but everywhere elsewhere (for example Devientart or Mozilla Startpage) it tells me I need to update. I'm sure that I've updated, and I can't access certain pages without being on the latest browser.

Either you have Firefox 3.0.19 or your User Agent is locked to this version of something you have installed in Firefox for a long time.

http://KB.mozillazine.org/Resetting_your_useragent_string_to_its_compiled-in_default

http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/USER_AGENT

type of topic: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.

If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access this page.

Filter = general.useragent.

Right click the preferences that are "BOLD", a line at a time, select reset.

Then restart Firefox

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • I currently have Firefox 9.0. Why the start page for firefox keep telling me that I don't have the latest version?

I currently have Firefox 9.0. Why the start page for firefox keep telling me that I don't have the latest version?

You may need the old start page. Go to Firefox > Options and in the pane general, under Startup, click on restore by default. The page you have probably (http://google.com/firefox) only served to 3.6 (and tells you you are outdated), but some users seem to have gotten stuck on it after updating to Firefox 4 or upper version.

  • Firefox keeps telling me that I should update even if it is up-to-date.

    My start page is http://www.google.co.uk/firefox?client=firefox-a & rls = org.mozilla:-org.mozilla

When I run Firefox it tells me that I need to improve Firefox. When I click on upgrade now it tells me that it is up-to-date. When I then use Firefox it tells me I need to upgrade again.

    I have Firefox installed 8.0.

There is a minor update available, Firefox 8.0.1. I don't know if it's important enough to be offered by automatic updates however, installs just new.

There could be another reason - that is the old default start page. Firefox has changed its default start page in 4.0. The page that you use can be (incorrectly) assuming that if you are looking at him, you must always be on Firefox 3.6.

If you restore the default home page, you should get the new homepage instead. It is not much different from the one you use, but he expected to give more information to update.

Are you talking about the bookmarks toolbar? Just CTRL-click in the header next to a label. This should bring up a menu that allows you to add toolbars. You can also go to view > toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar to enable.

You won't see in this list if you have saved in the Favorites Bookmarks toolbar. This article will guide you through the creation and management of bookmarks.

    Hope this helps!

  • Firefox keep me connected to Facebook, even in Safe Mode?

This problem has been annoys me, because God knows how long and I just can't get rid of it, at least I have reset Firefox which is really not want I want to do just to get rid of this tiny but irritating problem.

Firefox never remembers to sign at Facebook, even in Safe Mode without extensions.

How can I get rid of this problem? If this is not possible without reset, I would a simple and concise tutorial on how to get all my extensions and settings (though obviously not one who maintains that causes this problem). I use this Firefox profile at least a good few years and it is all set up correctly for my personal use. Thank you.

  • Can't get LR CC have uninstalled, LR6 keeps thinking it is LRCC even though I have a serial number

I am a member of the CC for Photoshop and had LR5, purchased version.

During the upgrade of LR5.7 to LR6, I installed by mistake LR CC (I thought it would be easy to uninstall once I had made my decision to buy LR6 or not).

Then, I bought the full version (as a LR5 purchased update) uninstalled LR CC, have installed LR 6. After that, LR6 kept showing LR 6 CC as the program name in the window of LR, and after a while I asked myself to buy the software or close it (i.e. it really haven't run more).

I have a serial number for the LR6, and I had installed from the installation program downloaded after purchase of the local version of the LR6 (not CC). And I can remember, I enter the serial number when I installed LR6 the first time around.

I just uninstalled it again and reinstalled and this time I didn't even get asked for the serial number, and the window of the program displays LRCC once again, no mention of LR6 any more.

Does anyone know how can I get rid of leftovers of CRD and can do a clean install of LR6? I tried the Adobe support cat, but keep getting sent around in circles without getting to talk to anyone, the system has changed a lot since I finally asked a question. And I've upgraded LR 6.01.

Thanks for all the suggestions in advance!

Before a (stand-alone) LR6 license it shows like LR CC 2015 - this is normal since it's the same software/installer.

Follow this for allowing him to independently LR6: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/serialize-lightroom-cc-trial-to-activate-as-lightroom - 6.html

  • Firefox is declining as being vulnerable even though I installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Why is this?

I have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed 18.0.0.203 - this is confirmed on the adobe site and the Firefox Add-ons page. Yet I continue to get the message saying that Flash Player is vulnerable...

All versions of the Flash plugin was disabled by Mozilla because of a security breach disclosed in the plugin that Adobe needs to address via a security update.

    • bug 1182751 - vulnerable versions of Blocklist (CVE-2015-5122) of the Flash Player plugin (18.0.0.203 and less)

  • My Firefox don't surf the Internet, even though I am connected to the Internet.

Excuse me, but my Firefox 3.6 just randomly stopped working. It wont let me not browse the Internet more - it still gives me the error message is "Unable to connect", even if I am connected to the Internet. Earlier I open Safari and Internet Explorer 9 - both, in which, allow me to browse the Internet, and I had a complete connection. But, whenever I use Firefox now, it said 'unable to connect '. And whenever I type in a URL on it, Firefox gives me the SAME error message. I don't know what to do now. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and it does the same thing. So now I'm stuck with using Safari, when I really want to use my Firefox. Why would he do that?

Make sure that you do not appear to work offline in the file menu.

It is possible that your connection has been interrupted, even briefly, more so if using wireless. Make sure that Firefox is not set on "[v] work offline" in the file menu just above output.

By default, Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 will automatically use offline mode if there is no network connection. Under certain conditions, after the connection is restored, it can stay in offline mode, without the user's knowledge. Firefox 4 and newer prevents this behavior by default. To prevent this behavior in versions 3.5 and 3.6, add an entry to the topic: config options, as follows.

       * Type about:config in Location (address) bar
       * Right-click on the about:config page to open the right-click context menu and use "New > Boolean" to create a new Boolean preference. Name: network.manage-offline-status. Value: false
