Firefox runs on the Tablet Toshiba Thrive?

I did not find the Toshiba Thrive on any of the lists of devices supported, tested, untested or not supported.

Toshiba Thrive meets, at least with a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor (what ARMv7), 1 GB of RAM and Android (2.1 + is min) 3.2.1.

  • Firefox is running in the Task Manager, but only opens a window.

I can't get Firefox to open a window. I tried firefox-p (Profile Manager) and firefox-safe (safe mode), but nothing works to open a window. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but that solves nothing. I haven't changed anything recently, so perhaps there is a update (?) Here's what happens:

I try to start Firefox, and the Task Manager indicates that Firefox is running. It employs about 32 k of memory, but the window never opens.

I click Firefox again. Manager tasks indicates 2 Firefox process now. The second is to use about 4 k of memory. Running Firefox repeatedly adds additional tasks to Firefox, each using about 4 k of memory.

After about a minute, the additional tasks of Firefox (the 4 k ones) start closing 1 by 1. I am now down to only 2 Firefox process, using 32 k and 4 k of memory, respectively. As far as I know, these processes will last forever, until I have shut them down manually. If I run Firefox again without closing the current process, it creates another 4 k process, which finally closes itself. If I close all the processes manually, I can start over from scratch. Meanwhile, Firefox never opens a window, or give a clue showing that it is running, with the exception of the processes listed in the Manager tasks.

I deleted the one in my USER folder without change. There are a couple more in various C:\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles files, so I deleted those too, without change.

It's a custom location. Normally, the profiles are under AppData\Roaming, I think you already know. There is a shortcut:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\

This folder must contain a profiles.ini file (.ini file extension may be hidden), which shows the names and paths to your profile folder (s). If you check in a text editor such as Notepad, this file contains sound data?

If this started right after an update, it could be a problem with security software, put an end to the commissioning (rules of program control) or program files has been corrupted.

You can check your firewall and other security software for program restrictions.

To meet possible corrupt files, I suggest:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (no incompatible or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 43.0 https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (B) the release of Firefox (if any).

    (C) to rename the folder of the program as follows:

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\OldFirefox

    (D) to run the installation program that you downloaded in step (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

A cleanly reinstalled Firefox starts up normally?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in this OldFirefox file. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \OldFirefox\Plugins
    • \OldFirefox\browser\plugins
  • Make Firefox preserves web content already loaded when the Tablet is paused

I recently had an Android Tablet and loaded Firefox on it as my browser. First of all, I intend to use it for reading web content, sometimes when offline - i.e., I would like to be able to load some websites at home, leave Firefox open and put to sleep (NOT turn off), go somewhere where I don't have wifi, then wake the Tablet and read my sites loaded - just like I do with my laptop but much more portable.

The problem is that it seems that when I do this and go in Firefox after the awakening of my tablet, the browser seems to always reload the Web page from scratch. It is a pain because it means that I have a wifi access to read Web pages and I often partially through a post very long blog/forum or something similar, and I spend a lot of time scrolling to where I was.

Anyone know why this is happening and what I need to do to get Firefox to just keep the content I have already loaded?

OK, tried this today and it worked fine. I don't know what happened yesterday. Close this question!

  • Load the url in tab of firefox running via cmd versions

I launched several version of firefox with the following command.
    "\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 18\firefox.exe" - profile "C:\f18" - no-remote
    "\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox31\firefox.exe" - profile "C:\f31" - no-remote
Both versions are running, now I want to load a url in tab via cmd versions. currently I'm unable to do so. I have tried almost every flag / command, documented by Mozilla.
    for example
    "\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox18\firefox.exe" - profile "C:\f18" - distance "openURL (http://example.com, new-tab)".
    "\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox18\firefox.exe" - distance "openURL (http://example.com, new-tab)".
    "\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox18\firefox.exe" - profile "C:\f18" - distance "openURL (http://example.com, new-tab)".
Whenever I faced with an error due to parent.lock or another new windows (with the new process) has appeared.

I want to open a url in the running versions of Mozilla Firefox tabs. If please correct me if I'm doing wrong or guide me how can we solve this problem,
    Thank you

The - No.-line remote control switch does not allow you to use - remote (as its name suggests). Which took effect in Firefox. 9 (see https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mo.../Command_Line_Options#-no-remote).

Could test you Firefox start with the (not well-documented) new - new-switch instance instead of - no.-remote and see if it works? Which was added to Firefox 13.

  • 29 Firefox fails to come out properly and continues to run in the Task Manager.

It is a continuation of a thread found here:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/997448 by Compumind.

I pointed out that I had the same experience, especially at the opening of the email links in Thunderbird. I reported also that forced me to go back to 28 FF.

Moses responded by top wire and suggested:
    (1) download a fresh installer of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (2) the release of Firefox.

    (3) rename the folder

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \OldFirefox

    (4) run the installer you downloaded in the #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

I followed these instructions carefully but no joy. When installing 29 FF, not only refused to leave (using "exit") and continue to run in the Task Manager up until I killed him after the opening of links in Thunderbird, but I find that he refused to come out after a simple navigation and links.

Moses had asked that I didn't answer in the original thread, so I re-post here.

In my view, that there is a serious bug. With Firefox 28... no problem don't except a minor that I have indicated here:
    https://Bugzilla.Mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1002089

Yet once I am obliged to 28 FF, although I miss the nice interface and security patches, I need to have a browser that works properly. My wife never even saw the Manager of the tasks before so that's the problem.

In addition, "guesses" made with this post, the only other thing usual outside that I do, is to have a security policy about cookies (accept by default... I make exceptions for cookies I want to keep and have several that are "allow only for the session.") I also FF the value delete history of navigation at the exit, but that takes a fraction of a second.

I look forward to when this matter can be addressed successfully and I am able to use 29 FF (and out properly... I can't wait for my wife to follow all of these instructions and it often close manually in the Manager of tasks... or what I want to do this.)

Good luck for all Mozilla projects. Having installed 29 FF twice and then back return 28 twice, I'll wait and see how this plays out. Please don't send me the standard "start in safe mode", 'restart with disabled modules', 'reset Firefox' stuff (the last time that completely destroyed my browser). I don't think that is what is happening.

Moses added that there is a problem with the e-mail notifications passing by, so take your time, friends.

I think now (temporarily) this bug or problem has its roots in "history leaving Compensation."

I made the leap after a few game with 29 PortableFirefox and reading the blog post linked here:

.. .and installed 29 FF on my previous FF28 on my box. I unchecked the "clear history on exit" which was only to delete my history, not cookies or anything else, cor - el. My setting should not accept cookies unless I make an exception. Until the FF developers find a way to do this is functional, I'll just have to manually delete the history.

Furthermore, John99, you want to maybe privacy.sanitize.sanitizeOnShutdown set to 'False', not 'true' If you want to stop the automatic deletion of the history at the exit (attempt).

I've been running for about 6 hours. without experiencing the bug 'suspended '. So, I can live with that for now until this bug is fixed. It should be fixed... browsers are supposed to be able to do things like that.

On the other hand, I could find things go wrong... but so far I'm not having a problem.

I for several hours and will let you know later if things change.

    Kind regards

  • After that restart of firefox does not start. is running in the Task Manager, but won't pop up. Reset safe mode and uninstall/reinstall won't help. OK so no reset.

Win7 Pro. has worked ok firefox. but lately with 25 and 26 now, firefox does not start. I see that firefox is running in the Task Manager. but it will not just appear.
If I still download and install it, it runs, but every time I restarted the system, it just does not work yet.
Reset try:, safe mode, uninstall & reinstall, new/clean profile none of these work.

  • I've updated Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1, since Firefox run a bit oddly. In particular, when on the sites with lots of images like Facebook, etc.

Hello, I am writing because I have a few problems with my favorite browser after update to 8.1 Windows. Here are some details. I've updated Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1, since Firefox run a bit oddly. In particular, when on sites with lots of images like Facebook. It's as if there is some sort of effect of Flikr between the office and the images, as well as between the images and the browser (a bit like old flikering of 16-bit video games). It's not too bad, but it's a question. I tried to reset firefox and restart the computer. I have not tried a repair, and I haven't done an uninstall.

Hello, disable hardware acceleration in firefox should a restart of the application is taken into account. have you tried that too?

Please also see if there is an available update your graphics drivers ...

  • I see not that everything written on the firefox page. But when open secure mod (with SHIFT because there is no written) firefox run normally.

I see not that everything written on the firefox page. But when open secure mod (with SHIFT because there is no written) firefox run normally.

If you have tried safe mode and the problem disappeared, this means that one of your modules are the origin of the problem are seen.

When I run Mozilla Firefox I get the error message "ReferenceError: Globalstorage is not defined." How to solve this problem?
    -Vinayak

GlobalStorage is no longer supported in the current Firefox (removed in Firefox 13), versions so the extension or Web site that uses it needs an update and use localStorage instead.

  • When I try to shut down my computer with Firefox running it hangs and stops the shutdown process.

When I try to shut down my computer with Firefox running, it does not close properly during the closing. Instead, it crashes (as described in this article) and will continue to do so until I have stop the shutdown process and close it manually, where it will still not respond. There is the substantive issue. Here is the list of the relevant data to identify more precisely:

On the list of programs is still active during the closure, the window of Firefox starts only appearing once as it should be, but a few seconds after starting to hang, it begins to appear a second time on the bottom of the list, with the specific name of the page is a duplicate of whatever it is on the original.

This problem does not occur in safe mode, but it is not caused by one of my addons either, as I figured out after disabling all my addons with tools > Modules rather than the safe mode and still the problem.

He is listed as that passes several times a week, but that is simply because that's how many times I forgot to close Firefox before pressing 'closed' and leaves the room without bothering to check it works. It happens whenever I try to turn off the computer with Firefox is running well.

See this article--> occurs not in Safe Mode

Check and say whether his work after turning off hardware acceleration.

  • New laptop Win7; When I try to start Firefox, I get the mess, "Firefox already running" error, I uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results.

This started after I did some of my old computer Quickbook files windows easy transfer to my laptop. I uninstalled firefox and download the latest version on the site and still get this message. I don't see where it can be run. Thnx, Bill.

This sounds like it is not the installation of Firefox itself that is messed up, but your profile folder (where are stored the your personal settings such as bookmarks, passwords, etc.). You say you used easy transfer, and that could hurt somehow.

To start from scratch once again, follow the instructions under "create a new profile" here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles. I hope this helps!
