Firefox Sync XML error

After installing Firefox Sync and restarting Firefox, I get the following error when I select < Options > on the extension of Firefox Sync 1.7: XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Location: chrome://weave/content/options.xul
Number 6, column 3, line: < setting id = 'armor-account' type = 'string' title = "" & account.label; "/ >"
--^

I used Firefox Sync successfully on Firefox 3.x and 4.x. This problem is related to Firefox 5.1? What should I do to fix this?

Hello!

You don't need Firefox 4, the extension. Just uninstall it and run as usual.

At the time when your system does not use the extension of Firefox Sync more and is it is true that it should be transparent, we see some cases where expansion is causing malfunctions like yours.

  • Firefox Sync error message

Hi today with Firefox 33.0.2 I was see an error at the bottom of the screen whenever FF is open. The message reads - "Sync has encountered an error during synchronization: unknown error." Synchronize automatically retrying this action. »

This happens both of my laptops running the latest stable version of FF is 33.0.2.

I am also using the latest version of sync using just a password and e-mail address to connect computers on behalf of synchronization, who has had no problems until about 3 hours ago.

If I get the above error message, and then try to perform a manual synchronization using the sync tool the message will pass to-"Sync has encountered an error during synchronization: the Firefox Sync server maintenance is underway, synchronization will automatically resume." Sync automatically retrying this action. "

Why I posted here because I tried the Mozilla @mozservices Twitter account to see if there is any failure or maintenance in progress, but have had no luck.

  • Connection to Firefox Sync does not work due to "SecurityError: the operation is not secure.

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to update my Firefox Sync account from the old to the new version. Unfortunately, the login page does not load on my laptop. On my Android devices, everything works fine, so I could already put in place the new account from there, I just can not connect to my new account sync on my laptop. I use Firefox on Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit 33.1.

The subject: represents the loading of the landing page as usual, but by clicking on the button connect does not load the login form, just blank white box. I asked my dear friend Google who gave me some answers (seems to be a common problem...), but none of them helped me.

The debug console displays the error "SecurityError: the operation is not secure" directly after loading on: accounts? action = signin. Opening of https://accounts.firefox.com/signin and https://accounts.firefox.com/signup also results in the same error and an empty box white. https://accounts.Firefox.com/legal/privacy works fine as usual.

I have not found a solution to work around this SecurityError so far.

I found another answer which finally solved my problem! Apparently the subject: in the page accounts raise this error because I configured Firefox always ask before accepting a cookie. https://github.com/Mozilla/FXa-content-server/issues/1857

Even when weird things, but now I have to work around him.

    Hi dismayy,
There is a new synchronization service that was introduced in version 29. Accounts.Firefox.com is the place to sign in. sync your bookmarks from Firefox, history, passwords, etc.

However, to access the logs are the same. With respect to the loss of data, please make a local backup to back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox

    • How can I activate synchronization logs:
    1. Talk openly about: config and turn on: services.sync.log.appender.file.logOnSuccess and services.sync.log.logger.engine.bookmarks
    2. Restart Firefox and look: subject: sync-log
    3. Logs and error messages are placed here

Please use pastebin.mozilla.org for sharring all errors that relate to this issue.

  • Firefox Sync history limit

    Hello

I finally managed to merge my history of 2 different profiles for a single places.sqlite. Now, I created an account of synchronization and synchronized with success my story, I learned that Firefox has a limit for synchronization history: only the last two months are synchronized.

I searched on: config for all 'historic' named entries, but there is no option to increase the limit.
Furthermore, I checked on: sync-error log, but it isn't everything.

As I never deleted my story for several years, I would like to use Firefox sync to synchronize this new places.sqlite also to other devices (PCs and laptops).

How can I increase the amount of the history of the objects synchronized via Firefox sync?

Thank you & see you soon,.
    Tom

The prefs browser.history_expire are no longer supported in current versions of Firefox (it stopped some time ago), so no need to find or create them.

See the comments in that bug report to see how it works:
