  • I hear that the feature to create slideshow is deprecated in Fireworks CS6. Recommend methods to do this job now?

I am trying to create my first slideshow. Unfortunately the method that I was going to use to create in Fireworks is no longer available for me, because of the feature being obsolete. How can I make this work now?

This command has been removed to the CS6.

What's new in Fireworks CS6 doc (http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/fireworks/using/whats-new-cs6.html), note that create slide show was one of five deprecated features.

Use multiple files as one animation

Fireworks can create an animation based on a group of image files. For example, you can create a slideshow based on several existing graphics.

    1. Select the file... Opened.
    2. Shift-click to select multiple files.
    3. Select Open the Animation, and then click OK. Fireworks opens files in a new single document, place each file in a separate State in the order in which you selected it.

Use the States Panel to modify your animation. Don't forget to choose "Animated GIF" in the Panel optimize.

    Cycle2

Here's an easy option that requires no script: Cycle2 is a versatile slideshow for jQuery built around ease of use plugin. It supports a declarative style of initialization that allows full customization without any script. Just include the plugin, declare your markup and Cycle2 does the rest.

  • Using extension thickbox Gallery in DWCS6 for Web pages into slices in fireworks CS5

After the design of my Web pages in Fireworks CS5, I exported in Dream weaver CS6, but I can't seem to place the extension 'thickbox' to my Gallery of aligned way. in other words, he refused to position horizontally left to right of my page.

Please can someone help me in this matter.

Thank you so much in anticipation.

Thank you @Ken for your info, Nancy Merci for your info too, please how it installs the fancybox add on which you suggested in Dreamweaver?

In the meantime, I am pleased to inform you that I found a way to solve the problem, I've reported here. The procedure is as follows: -.

When you add the Gallery of "thickbox", and it will do align horizontally to the left to the right. First, select the 'Gallery' (generally the 2 default thumb nails/galleries) that you have added, simply go to your PanelCSS Styles"and under the tab 'course' adds the 'Display' property and then on the right, change its attribute to anything that is"inline". In this instance, Gallery "thickbox" changes the alignment in a way of landscape and is positioned from left to right. You could also try other possibilities 'attributes' of 'view' to see which could also give you what you want or same result. Once you are happy, you might move on to swap your tiles and filling of your galleries.

It took a while to discover this.

Thank you once again everyone for the effort.

  • When I design with Muse and export in HTML, Dreamweaver is not attached style sheets. All the answers?

When I design with Muse and export in HTML, Dreamweaver is not attached style sheets when I open files with Dreamweaver. Basically when I draw with Muse files do the same with Dreamweaver. Is this a bug? Workaround solutions?

Then you will need to install a local server and use live view.  It is not that DW is not making it or is not endearing, it's this Muse has decided to use the treatment side server to include who is authorized to practice CMS when you combine the style sheets for better caching, but it is not really ideal for a single style sheet.  It is a shortcoming of the Muse and one of the reasons why many professionals will return the product at present.  That and you can't actually buy Muse, so unless you are on a subscription you haven't.  It seeks to fill a void for those who do not want to invest in professional design like Fireworks, Photoshop or Dreamweaver tools, but want a cross between them to make drawings.  If you have invested in the right subscription and want a better way to make models I highly recommend this coding yourself and using Fireworks or Photoshop to make the layout for you.  There is an excellent tutorial on the devnet (3 pieces) to show you how its done ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/dw_fw_css_pt1.html ).  Once you start using Fireworks or Photoshop, you'll realize how limited Muse is in the design.

  • Do the colors of the Fireworks act more like illustrators

I know.. they are two different tools, but at least the colors should be universal.  Maybe that they are and I don't know how.

    I want to:

1 enlarge thumbnails of color as you can do in AI

    2. Add the nuances of color gradient in the Panel as you do i bis.  FW has even the possibility of having shades of color gradient?

    Thank you!!!

Fireworks Swatches Panel doesn't have the ability to display gradients. You can save gradients as Styles in the Styles Panel, however.

You can import Illustrator ASE swatch files in Fireworks by selecting Add files in the Fireworks Swatches Panel menu. and accessing their location on your hard drive.

You can enlarge the color chart by dragging on the bottom right of the Swatches palette.

  • Lining of the divs to the top, one with a fireworks html code with a jQuery slideshow

I'm having a problem lining up two div in a div.  A div has an HTML inside fireworks (by the way, I can't understand why only the button States are not ' work.)  I inserted the code via the Insert menu > image objects > fireworks html, but for some reason, the work of button States.  When I open the navbar.htm in the file browser, it opens it in dreamweaver and it works perfectly in the live preview).  The other div has a simple jQuery slideshow.  I have these two div in comprehensive plu div named 'div id = wrapper.  How can I match these so that the nav div and body div flush against each other within the wrapper div tag?

I intend to put the extra divs above and below the div wrapper for more content.  If someone understand why the fireworks html code does not work when inserted, would be great!

  • Add styles of custom menu in the pop-up Menu Editor.

I have tried to use the instructions as Adobe give me to do, but it does not work. They tell me to save a style library in the folder "menu bars. I searched my computer and I only have one folder of menu bars. The path is Adobe Fireworks CS5/Configuration/Common Library/Menu Bars. All files are .png not .stl. files.

I want to have a bottom scroll personalized for my pop-up menu. Anyone who has done this and can you please tell me how to do it on a Mac.

    Thank you

Frankly, I wouldn't waste my time. The pop-up menus in FW are old code and a mess to deal with once the menu has been exported. There are much better resources out there, in DW Spry menus, to commercial products of the seven project.

  • Fireworks Pop - Up Menu problem in Dreamweaver

Hi, I built a menu pop up/menu in Fireworks. This menu bar is for a site that I built using dreamweaver. I exported the menu bar in fireworks and then inserted in dreamweaver, but when I do that the button images are missing. Instead of images (on the categories of menu bar), there are gray boxes in the shape of the image (image/category button).

I've had this problem before and was able to remedy. I don't know what I was doing well. Nothing seems to work, since I'm not aware of how I fixed it in fact, I can't understand how to solve this problem again.

When I preview the file in fireworks, it looks good, and everything seems to work. When I insert the html file in dreamweaver, I have this problem with the images of menu bar. The strange thing is that it is only the button images. I do not have this site and I downloaded all the files but the pictures do not always show. The link to this site is www.pariswyattllansoart.com. (the site is still under construction, of course).

The menu bar works fine otherwise. The only problem is that the images at the top and more for the buttons on the menu bar do not show in dreamweaver or on the published site. Even the images that make up the rest of the menu bar show. If you check the site out, you'll see what I mean.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Here is the code for the file:

Look at where the images are defined:

The "% 20" is the coded URL, space you have in your file name. No not use spaces in the names of files for the Web. Try to remove the spaces/%20s and see if that helps.

In addition, you will find that your code is much more readable and maintainable if you name your slices (and, therefore, your images) for what they are for (new-> news.gif, political-> policies.gif and so on). If you create the table and transfers from scratch in Dreamweaver, you will get these terrible style names, either. For example, class = "MMMIVStyleMMMenu0521181434_4" isn't a useful name. You probably don't have a distinct style for each button. If you train from scratch, you will have a much cleaner code.

Speaking of clean code, see this first line which is all GIFs for spacing? You don't even have that. Make sure that the table cells have the width appropriate for images and you can zap such useless things.

  • Disable XP Theme support in Fireworks MX 2004

I recently upgraded to a new computer and had to reinstall Fireworks. the installation of fireworks on my old machine has flat gray on strips of paper, and the palette title bar. on this new installation (using the same installation CD), it has degraded there bruises on the palette title bar and document tabs. While doing the design work, I'd rather widely to have a neutral grey interface.

I disabled the XP theme support, because I prefer to use the classic interface "Windows". If I re - enable theme support and spend money theme blue, the colors of fireworks will change cash degraded. However, then I have to deal with the title bars chunky and other candies for the eyes of the Luna theme. When I go to my custom theme "Classic Windows", back blue gradients.

-Anyone know how to get Macromedia MX 2004 apps to ignore the XP themes? I've already activated the option "Disable visual themes" under the tab "Compatibility" of the menu right click 'Properties' on the application itself and the related shortcuts. It doesn't have any effect.

I am running XP Pro with SP2. This is the sentence I think to reformat my hard drive and install my old copy of XP Pro, even though I just spent the weekend to refine this SP2 installation.

Your screenshot is a bit too small FIR me to see what is happening. I have
created a small demo movie to show you how it works on my machine. Note
not only the title bar active changes color, but the style of the user interface has
revenue to the classic Windows with 3D buttons instead of the

  • Lights of Fireworks/Flash integration not useful

I started experimenting with Fireworks and the much-vaunted integration between FW & Flash seems to be mainly hype. (I'm talking about the big deal made about it in the CS3 Video Workshop Adobe.) So now I find that the limits of what can be done by taking back and forth between the two applications make the so-called integration largely unnecessary.

Some of the most useful effects, such as those commonly used in the provided Styles, do not survive the import in Flash. For example, for plastic button 009 Hue/Saturation filter is not in Flash. Without the HS filter, you do not get any color in Flash.

And even when the Visual properties are intact, the update mechanism is not working. For example, I created a new FW file, drew a rectangle rounded and applied the reflective Style 006 of Chrome and saved the file. I imported it in the Flash library choose the canned options appearance. Then, I went back in FW and the Chrome Misc 003 style applied and saved. Then, in Flash, I clicked on the bitmap in the library and selected the update, but when I clicked on the button update, it just says 0 of 1 items updated and displays a small question mark. I had problems similar import PSD files/layers in Flash and try to update.

I tried another test, this time by choosing the option "keep all paths editable" during import in Flash. However, it lost some of the desired effect and has not yet provided the opportunity to update (gray).

So, as far as I know, I have to create each image in a separate file in FW and then import it only as a regular JPEG or GIF in Flash. FW can always be useful, because it provides some nice styles, gradients, textures, and other features that can help in the creation of web graphics. But the integration with Flash seems to be virtually nonexistent. Am I missing something?

    David Salahi

I love the Fireworks + Flash integration, is what originally made me using Fireworks, actually. But there are a few bumps you need to be familiar with, as you found it. We must also understand the Flash platform and how it differs from the freedom that you get in Fireworks, so I hope I can help here:

Filters - Yep, Flash only supports a small subset of the filters. This may change in the future with the announcement of Hydra/Pixel Bender, which is really exciting, but for now, you're stuck with only a few filters in Flash. Open Flash and get acquainted with them. And be happy that we are not having this conversation a few version there is, when there is no filters at all! Once you are familiar with the filters and blendmodes that has Flash, when you work in Fireworks and intend to go to Flash, don't forget that you can use the filters. The rest must be avoided or flattened before importing it into Flash. Yes, it's the technology limit your freedom of creation, I hate it, but if you understand the limits you can still push very far. BTW, Hue/Saturation actually makes FW to FL for me.

The update option is really intended to Bitmaps associated with an external bitmap, such as jpg or gif image file. When you went to update your bitmap image you've probably noticed that the path field was empty - it's because the Flash has not linked him to an image file, and may not remove from source PNG file. It would be a really nice feature, and the one I asked: http://adobe.com/go/wish/

When you choose "keep all editable paths" then all the filters and effects you used that are not supported in Flash are deleted. There are other features including Fireworks that Flash does not work, as the model/textures, some gradients, etc. They all do not exist in Flash so that they don't come through. Again this goes back to understand what Flash can do, and make sure your Fireworks design is compatible.

Looks like you had a shocking experience, trying to integrate between FW and Flash, but the problem is to understand the huge difference between what you get on the Flash canvas and the canvas of the fireworks. Flash is generally limited. The Flash is limited is because it's a Web of runtime optimized for the web. When you do something in Fireworks, you have unlimited freedom because ultimately you will have just the export of an image pixel static. But in Flash, you're dealing with a completely different beast - interaction. The Flash canvas is restored when running... you can think of Flash Player that he fulfills the role of fireworks that runs in the browser, so of course it must be on a much smaller scale.

Anyway, once you get used to Flash how works and how that differs from Fireworks, integration will make much more sense. The way you describe to export each graph/layer as a separate JPG and import is basically the way that it used to have to do with Photoshop, but I recommend definitely trying to familiarize themselves with the way Flash works and get a hang of the design to import processes from Fireworks to Flash.

In case it helps, here is my workflow of Fireworks to Flash (I create many happy Flash so it's battle very tested for me):
    (1) design of fireworks, with the knowledge of what Flash can do and a little reckless abandon because I'm a designer, I do watch as I wish even if it takes extra work in Flash ;)
    (2) once the final design, I create a Fireworks duplicate page
    (3) I go through my design and also make Flash compatible as possible. This means that everything which must be flattened, flatten sometimes convert text to paths, do vector graphics, etc.
    4) import into Flash
    (5) cleaning everything that is not come through right. At this point, it's little things, like the dotted cross solid, so I do the dotted lines again
Animate 6) or the platform upwards with ActionScript
    (7) for small changes, I make my change in Fireworks, and then I copy/paste only items changed in Flash and replace them

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

  • CS4 Question of Styles

While working on a backdrop using Fireworks CS4 on Vista (32 bit), I came across an interesting question.

Application of styles to a regular rectangle works very well, and selecting a new style updates the form. Rectangles, rounded, however, have problems. When initially created, it seems to have the last style used. However, new styles not totally update the form. Some seem to have no effect, others may change the race but that's all.

Fireworks CS3 does not have this problem, it seems to be something new introduced in CS4. Any thoughts?

Styles applied to groups, symbols, AutoShapes works as follows:

    1. When you apply a style to a group / an AutoShape, the path attributes are NOT applied to all subitems & that the effect is applied to the entire group.

    2. where a Style is the result of a group / an auto shape, only the effects will be defined in the created style. Background and outline options are disabled by default and therefore they will not be collected in style. When the background and outline options are checked they will be picked up in the created style.

    3. when a style is redefined from a group / an auto shape, only the effects are redefined. All the path attributes are ignored.

Rounded rectangle is an AutoShape. An alternative would be to use the "Marquee" tool and change its roundness that can now be defined in pixels or as a percentage of the values.

  • Pop - up Menu Editor - appearance Image Style

I followed every bit of help I can find and still picture styles are not displayed. I placed the following files to the following locations:

    C:\Documents and Settings\ZMarie\Application Data\Macromedia\Fireworks 8
    Style Defaults.stl
    Styles.STL

    C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Fireworks 8\First Run\Nav Menu
    Styles.STL

    C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Fireworks 8\First Run\Styles
    Style Defaults.stl

What Miss me? Your help is sincerely appreciated. Thank you for your time.

After talking with a Support person technology Senior from Macromedia, go here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Macromedia\Fireworks 8

and create a folder named "Nav Menu". Inside this new folder, copy the Styles.stl file, which you can find in C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Fireworks 8\First Run\Nav Menu folder.

Stupid, I know, but it's how to do it.
