Firmware upgrade assistance: Adapter Firmware
Hi all
I learned on UCS firmware management and it has been discussed that management firmware is categorized under 2 main components.
- Major (adapter / IOM / UCSM / FI)
- Minor (adapter / BIOS / HBA / Option ROM etc.)
My confusion stems point that upgrade the adapter "" component can be done through 2 ways:
Hardware > install Firmware > activate Firmware > Interface cards
OR
Via host the Firmware Packages > adapter
I don't know why there are 2 different places for upgrade firmware "Adapter", is there a specific recommendation reason or design behind it?
Thanks for your help
Vikas
Vikas greetings,
Firmware of the adapter really is not classified as major, but it can be upgraded via the direct method (as host of the political Firmware). The main components are the Infrastructure - IOM, FI & UCSM packages.
The reason is that if your adapters don't 'need' to a specific version of the firmware, then the direct method is the way to go. If for some reason you need a specific version of fw (perhaps due to the compatibility or validation etc.) then assign adapter via a policy of host Firmware fw going to build some version in the Service profile and apply it to whatever the blade, the profile is associated.
You can also assign the CIMC firmware via this policy of host Firmware also if you wish.
Kind regards
Robert

Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant works on my XP Pro, but no report?
Hello
I tried to run the Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard a couple of times without success. I have a Windows XP SP3 operating system. When running the upgrade wizard I get NO reports or other instructions. He simply disappears! Any guidance or solutions to this problem would be appreciated.
Dan
Well I ran it again and the files were .xml which are not easily comprehensible for me, both in looking around came upward with this:
1. download the desktop
2. disconnect internet
3 disable your antivirus
4. unlock and run
5. do you have it run this time?
That's what it should look like:

and you can try a download to another site:

Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant does not not in the United States
I have tried every day since the launch of Windows 8 to upgrade by using the downloadable Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard, however, whenever I get to the billing information page, the prefecture of the Province/State/drop down NEVER has to the United States as an option, or the State, that I live in the United States.
I tried to restart my computer, delete the folder of installation of AppData\Local\Microsoft and retried the upgrade program, and yes the URL I have download the file contains en-US.What's wrong?Hello
If I understand the question, you aren't able to find the State that you live in the options while improving to Windows 8.
From which site you download Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant?
You can try to download and execute Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant using the link below.

Hi, this could be a long post for something simple then I apologize in advance.
I recently updated my cable modem, router wireless at HQ and 150mbps broadband internet services. Came and went with the support technique of ISP and modem manufacturer and max results with speedtest I can get up to 92mbps. Seems that everything goes well on their ends. Not sure, but I suspect the 10/100 network adapter is my limit. So I bought a PCI Gigabit card and now I don't know what location to use. There is a dial-up modem connection in a slot and a wireless local area network (that I don't need) card in another. I thought I'd be able to recognize what PCI slot to use if there is a connector cable ethernet to one of the cards, but no. The ethernet connection is on a frame connected to the motherboard... so I was wondering if someone would have an idea to which PCI slot to swap? The Dial-up modem card or wireless Lan slot? Or is the network card built into the motherboard?
I learned that the peak of out to something like 130mbps PCI slots so I'm not expecting to get all the way to speed 150mbps broadband, but I would like to get as close as I can. And hope I'm on the right track with change of the network card.
Last year, I improved the two 1 TB hard drives each in a Raid? stripped configuration, maxed out at 8 GB memory and added new Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. The little girl runs really well. I just wanted to give my trusty HP one more push.
Any idea would be appreciated... Thank you very much.

I'd rather have an insightful dialogue than to have to ask you some questions.
You motherboard has 3 PCI slots. Update external wireless modem does not help you support system that the internal Wi - Fi card does not match his speed, it's an old map of Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g. The remote access card is actually a 56K bps modem data / fax, useless, unless your in Fax? According to the HP website, you also have a PCI TV card (you do not have to mention)?
(1) if the Fax is not used, remove the card. Use this location.
(2) the old wireless card is now useless.
(3) be aware you will lose Media Center if you ever upgrade to win 10 and many more.
Well, you did ask! Treat the daughter of old nice. You have until 2020 to Jan. Read this also. Fun.

Windows Upgrade Assistant 10 stuck at 99% with < 5 hours left!
Help, please! I was stuck on 99% of the hours now and there are theoretically less than 5 hours left to complete the update. I hear people say, "let him finish", but I've also heard that MS is saying that the entire process MUST be complete before 5: 59 EDT, 30/07/2016 so that Windows 10 be considered free. I don't want to get stuck in some purgatory between Windows 7 and 10, because the installer gave up before he finished.
If the upgrade of Windows 10 Assistant becomes blocked or unresponsive to different percentages: 0%, 32%, 62%, 87%, 99%, please wait at least 4 to 7 hours. If the installation program does not progress, close the wizard and restart your computer. Follow the instructions to upgrade manually by using the tool of creation of media or file ISO for Windows 10.

Do I did wrong? Does this software work with my laptop?

When do the upgrade wizard stops exactly and what is the error message you are displayed?
Can you also tell us what model phone you have? Support this upgrade?
In my opinion you should also try a new and clean Windows 7 installation if it is possible for you.

You can easily buy an upgrade to Windows 8. For example, the command
Amazon.com.However, note the following:
1. Although you can use the upgrade version, it is not really a
upgrade; He's going to do a clean install, which means that you will
reinstall all your programs.2. you can use Windows 8 drivers for some of the materials in
your computer and it is likely that its manufacturer is not
them is available for an old man like a Windows XP - era computer.3. While your computer can meet the minimum requirements for
Windows XP, it will almost certainly not be Windows 8 with
acceptable performance. You probably need to update several
hardware components and it can cost much more to buy a new
computer. -

Before we go much further in troubleshooting - maybe you can prevent future question by answering a few questions (and think of them...)
What is the brand and model of the computer system in question?
The amount of memory (live RAM) system there?
How much space (total and free) hard disk is the system have to 'C '?
You have the key media and product installation of Windows XP stored in a safe place (turn off the computer itself) right now?
You have the installation media for everything that you have installed on this computer stored in a safe place (turn off the computer itself) right now?
You produced all keys or serial numbers, you may need to install the software you own / have installed now keep in a safe place (turn off the computer itself), at the moment?
Have you checked with the manufacturer of the computer (or individual component manufacturers) that they take over the computer (or the individual components - such as the video card, sound card, network devices, etc. inside the computer) Windows 8 and they have device drivers that will allow the Windows 8 operating system properly to communicate and use said components?
Did you check with the manufacturers of software for each software (programs), you have only installed the current version of their software work (or one you have / use would be wise to check on) Windows 8, and they support their software under the said operating system?
You have a backup of everything on the machine that is important to you - such as your emails, contacts, documents, spreadsheets, photos, drawings, your data, your music, your videos, you Internet favorites/bookmarks and everything else the stuff you've collected on this computer over time that you used it?
I ask this because you are about to perform a NEW installation (format, departure fees, etc.) on the machine in question. You will need to install all the programs that are now in place and work as he was never on this system. If it turns out that the machine is unbearable (for some reason-including speed, or simply don't like Windows 8) you will need a way to format it again and install the original (Windows XP) operating system and all the programs back. And, of course, you probably want your stuff back also. -
