First film edited with Premiere - proxy, audio questions and multi-cames

I have several questions that I have not found in the videos and forums, at least not for my situation. I'm finishing the revision of sequences now adding comments in prelude and will begin soon to change it. Please excuse the long post.

Background:

I'm working on my first film, a documentary. Most of my work is 10-11 interviews, about an hour each. The majority is 4K Panasonic GH4, but some of the images is an Olympus MDGS EM5 II 1080.

I recorded the sound using a LAV and a shotgun microphone, each goes in its own channel in a Tascam DR - 70 d, an external audio recorder, with a line going into the camera for reference. Audio and video files (at least one, since GH4 brings several) will have a slate tone to the head, created by the audio recorder. The recorder has captured the audio 24-bit, 16-bit audio captured camera. The recorder fooled also two other channels to lower 12db audio in the case of audio peaks.

I will be changing on Mac laptop - 2013 MacBook Pro, OS 10.11.5, 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i7 memory of 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 M 1024 MB graphics card. I think I need to create my images 4 K proxies.

All images is storage on my external drive of G. The interviews are separated and are located in the folders of each interviewee.

The final project will be 1080, not 4K.

Questions:

Naming - being a hybrid, the GH4 breaks an interview of an hour in several separate files. Should I change the names of all files, or keep them in folders named in Premiere Pro? If I should change them, should I do it before swallowing?

First synchronize audio and video, but since I have an audio file and several video files, I synchronize each video file individually or assemble them somehow, then synchronize? If each of these excerpts from the interview is sewn together, wouldn't that make editing more easy?

When you create proxy for video files, also create proxy for audio files separate? Once synchronized, will be presented first the Hi output version of the resolution of the video and audio?

Multicamera - in one case, I have an interview with two 1080 cameras. But for the rest, I've shot with a camera in 4K, so I intend to use a section cropped interview (zoom) when an important statement is mentioned, simulating a two cameras set up. Given that I have to create a sequence of multi camera after I ingest proxy files, first will be a problem activating/deactivating files proxy for the salvation of the res files?

B - roll is added later, once the interviews are published about. It will be a few (not 4K) images and photos. Make the proxies of these too or first care to have all files proxy or a mixture?

Finally, I have never edited a video which has been more than 10 minutes. This film could be of 40 minutes or up to 90. Everything I need to know to make the editing more smooth? I am a beginner!

Thank you for bearing with me and thank you in advance for any idea!

1. allow only file names.  Make your organization with records (hard drive) and ferries (project).

2. Manual of multi-camera method

3. the audio files are small and will not need of proxies.  Export will always use the original media.

4. possibly.  My first attempt was a disaster that froze the machine so badly, I had to do a hard reset.  However, you need not go back to the original of the sequence to make your cut-ins.  Proxy media will do fine work.  Simply place a copy of the plans at the 50% level in V1 and a second copy on the scale of 100% in V2 when creating the source multicam sequence...  Will allow you to see the full versions and then cropped the multicam editing.

5. the photos no need of proxies.  If the B-roll change, make proxies for those.  PP not care a spirit to keep all the images the same.

  • Synchronization of four cameras with gaps in the timeline for multi cameras sequence

I use Premiere Pro Trial CC to edit a multi camera concert. (The trial is just to see if the multi-came thing will work better than CS5) Since there is a limit of 30 minutes on four of my SLR, I have gaps in each of my deadlines of four cameras. All of these tracks were synchronized manually upward with a master audio track.

In order to create a multi-cam sequence, I need to synchronize the video tracks 1-4, but so far have not been able to do. I tried to clips from each camera of nesting (so video 1-4 are all separate nested clips.)   I turn on the targeting of track for four channels of video and an audio track. Then I press 'I' to select a Point for the selected tracks. Not sure if this is how it works - just guess here.

I then tries to 'Create Source Multi camera sequences' and tracks synchronization to aid 'In Points' on the nested five (4 video and 1 audio).   When I double click on the sequence of Source Multi camera to preview, I get four video windows appear, but the timing isn't right. It's as if they all were associated with at the beginning of the clip, not the markers that I put in front.

So that's my problem. I can't synchronize these titles before creating a sequence of Source Multi cameras. I tried the synchronization of audio track, but it fails - too gaps to make it work, I think. I have no timecode. The only way I can think to do is to clip markers. Are some of these features disabled in the trial version?   Thanks for any help on this!

    MacBook Pro

    10.10.5

    Intel Core i7 2.8 GHz

    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

All of these tracks were synchronized manually upward with a master audio track.

Then, with all your video tracks manually synchronize would with your audio master, you are ready. It would be a sequence with audio and 4 video layers. Now that nest, activate multi-cameras and turn on the multiple camera monitor in the program monitor and start your editing.

    --------------------------

and if you want to try the other route-

as for the creation of sequence of Source Multi cameras with points, place your points on your clips 4 source using the source monitor, you will only be able to get one on your audio files. That you establish for the created Premiere Pro sequence camera multiple source.

  • Driver audio IDT and Application + camera

    Hello

    I recently bought a HP Elitebook 840 G1

    Product number: H5g26ea #abb

    Serial number: [redacted]

    OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

It worked perfectly until I installed a dual boot (Ubuntu and Windows 7).

I redefined the partitions, Win7 installed and everything works allright, with the exception of the audio drivers and camera (which includes the microphone, so I have basically no Skype as well).

I looked in the forums and tried the usual stuff:

    1. update the bios to the release version (prior to this, if the driver is uninstalled, Windows woudn't simply see hardware in Device Manager).

2 download the latest version of the driver from the driver (SP 65631) page.

3 were manually in the device driver update manager and specifically pointing to the location of the hard drive of the driver - didn't work.

    4. rebooted and lounched the SP 65631 file setup.exe - did not work.

SO, I essentially three major problems: a - audio; B - video camera; C - drivers for linux?

    Error messages a. on AUDIO:

    1. in the resolution of the audio problems, the error message is: High Definition Audio Driver has a driver problem - not fiexd.

    2. in Device Manager: this device cannot start. (Code 10);

    3. in the launch of SP 65631 setup.exe: the hardware found is not supported by this package IDT. The instalation is abandoned.

    I also tried:

    -update the driver of HP SoftPaq Download Manager;

-update the driver from the installation CD with drivers that came with the laptop.

    None of them worked

    B. the camera is not displayed in Device Manager. In the camera driver, there is a lot of files setup.exe, I don't know who to launch...

    C. more than drivers for linux - any chance? If the sound does not work under windows, how could it works under Ubuntu?... it's just a matter of rhetoric I don't use Linux for multimedia, if is not bad worm to me that sound, camera, HP etc buttons don't work... but I have all of the features available in Linux as well .

I solved the audio with reinstalling the chipset and erasing the bios - the procedure described here (but with the drivers for my machine, of course...):

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-PC-sound-and-audio/no-sound-from-my-laptop-speaker-but-headphone-works/TD-p/2990137

I did the same thing and now I have sound

    B and C remain unsolved...

An unknown device appears in Device Manager. I guess that's the web camera, since details / hardware ID, it is mentioned:

    USB\VID_138A & PID_003.

The only other device works do not (that I'm aware of...) is the fingerprint reader.

BTW: this is what appeared on reboot (before Setup manually the audio driver... )

  • What is the best codec to edit with Premiere? I use a Canon 7 d.

With Adobe Premiere, I read that you don't have to transcode your images to change, but is BETTER? Cup people say it is better to transcode your footage in h.264 to apple pro res in order to get images of superior quality. Is true even with first? Is it better to change your film to a different codec before editing it? FYI, I use a Canon 7 d.

Transcoding will be no better than the native work.

I need a laptop to help with time I'll be traveling and need to get out the videos in the night.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

    Al

Well, if I were to buy this model I would intensify the processor i7 - 2620 m for only $95, plus you get a helping hand from 2.0 GHz to 2.7 GHz.  CPU is the most important point for NLE.  If for any reason any you are not upgrading CPU, cut back on the graphics card to the GT 550 M

How do you meet the minimum requirements of system Adobe Premiere of 2 hard drives?  I see that they offer a second option.  If you are sure that it does not require a Dell in car of the brand and that it requires no additional hardware to install it you might be able to do it yourself which would be a bit cheaper, but there are two risks I mentioned.

  • Export the clip with no video, audio only and keep the timecode

I have transcribed for a documentary film clips. There are many of them and my transcribers using a program that can use the timecode of audio and video files.

We are Dropboxing so I want them to be just audio files, but I need the timecode to stay on the clips when I export the audio.

So far he strips and all I get is life.

The original videos are in. MTS format. They import in first CC very well, but when I export the audio the initial timecode disappeared.

The other option would be to compress the video and the watermark, but the time code disappears when I do that too.

I think that I get it.

You want just the files as small as possible. Right? That's why you just want audio?

Well, rather than do without the video completely, just to reduce the flow of something terribly weak, where the video is barely able to be seen. You want to export to a format that the program can handle, like Quicktime. But where I could export to 25 Mb/s, you might be able to export 1 Mb/s. The video will look terrible. Well, so what? Who cares? Right?

    But there the timecode.

When their web page says they can accept different audio formats, I don't think they hear audio by itself. They mean that the audio in the video stream may be audio AIFF, WAV, AAC and MP3.

  • How can I get the top lines of the page, I have my toolbar back? The first line starting with 'file' on the right and the second line which contains the refersh button as well as the search bar disappeared. How to make a comeback?

The first two lines of my toolbar disappeared. I find myself with most visited but the lines above, containing the button refresh, bookmarks, and search bar and above the one containing the links to the files, etc are passed, how do em back?

== I was juggling the different bars and must have clicked smth, that I should not have.

  • Whistle with ECM - W1M Bluetooth microphone and a3000 camera

Web site of Sony said that the a3000 and ECM - W1M are completely, 100% compatible. I bought the microphone and the receiver lights up on the camera.

I try a lot of things until I decided to try to record with the receiver on the camera, blue light comes on and the microphone and the receiver coupled with each other. I know that through these hoops does not mean that 100% compatibility. anyway.

The problem is that the microphone has a very strong sound when not all the sounds. Example. You turn it on and it pairs. Before you start talking there is a strong sound. Once I have start talking the hiss disappears but comes back if I stop to talk to a down while.

Question to Sony, are Multi Interface devices all different? Sony sells an all being the same and compatible. And I'll be back the MIC because the whistle is going to get better?

    Thank you.

Seems to me that if you have an AGC (auto gain control) turned on. If you are not familiar with the MCO, it does is amplify the volume of the sound entering the camera until he hears it. In other words, it increases the gain of the sound. This is probably why when you talk about the hiss disappears, but he returned when there is only available for noise which is much more difficult for the camera to 'hear' compared to your voice or loud sound source as an instrument for example.

I am not familir with the a3000, but you could look through your menus and see if you can turn off or maybe the audio manual value.

    Hope that helps.

  • simple question and Multi point question

    Hello

We have a publication which is published every 3 weeks. (17 times per year)  If anyone knows what kind of version of the app, we should use?

    Multi-Folio

    Integrated unique Edition App

    Multi-Folio with itunes subscription

any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Ryan.

You definitely want one of the variants of the multi-folio. As you publish all the 3 weeks is probably a good idea to offer an iTunes subscription, it's a great way for customers to purchase access to your questions. We see the vast majority of magazine revenue came from subscription in iTunes purchases, not single issue purchases.

  • How can I transcode images with all 4 audio channels of P2?

I'm in transition from FCP7 to Premiere Pro CS6, and one of the single crash that I meet is transcoding P2 footage and keep all the 4 audio channels separated.  I can't find a way where prelude compresses all 4 channels in 2.  My workflow so far has been to use Final Cut Pro to transcode my images in ProRes with all 4 audio channels and then only put in first to edit.  Needless to say, I don't want to have to keep doing it this way.  Thanks for your help!

    Hello

You will need to update your Adobe encoder support and Adobe prelude to the latest versions: 6.02. Update of the prelude was disclosed last week, and I believe that the SOUL is also available.

This issue has been corrected in SOUL 6.02.

You can update directly from each application via the menu or you can visit the page of each product on adobe.comhttp://adobe.com> and get the updates it.

    I hope this helps.

  • In first 12 items can I use entry AVCHD from my camera?

The main Question that I used to record video clips on my camera in MPEG format. And do regular video PAL TV All Good. Now have Apple MAC and MPEG playback quality is bad. So changed the setting of the device to AVCHD. This improvement in quality back play on MAC and imported into Home Catalog OK. But PE composed with this and that I have not a BLUE Ray burner, can I still make regular DVD? Related issues... you may be able to help with... but don't worry if you don't know that, because simply use Adobe for now...     The MAC only sees the content AVCHD on the map as 'something', its not in the DCIM folder, but AVCHD 'record' and won't copy and paste it into a folder. But Photoshop is OK and put them in my selected folder, but then I can't view through the Finder. QuickTime can be selected to open with. Is there a way to handle this as a separate file and open in the Finder? Thanks Chris

Absolutely! In fact, AVCHD is one of the most ideal formats for editing in Premiere Elements.

And you can export your finalized as a BluRay or DVD movie, but also a number of other formats.

  • Editing with first Elements 10 proxy

I just read a great post on how to change proxy with version 7 to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/390600?tstart=0, but I can't find a way to save a preset with first Elements 10 so I could then change it to display the previews in low resolution and output in full HD. The online help for the program mentions 'creation' presets, but then only described how do to slelect existing presets. Can someone tell me how to do a new project built-in, or better yet, if there is an integrated proxy method alter with 10? Thank you!

    jjenkinsnm

What you see is normal. I do not see a flaw in it... by the book.

Your preset is correct and is set to match the properties of your media source (1080 p @ 29.97 progressive frames per second).

Thus, you shouldn't get a Redline on this content when it is moved to deadlines as the first brake on this chronology. In fact, you shouldn't see any coloured on line. And, what you just wrote, you have no red line on your first drag the contents of the timeline.

But, once you change the video clip in any way on the timeline, no line colored does not become a red line on the status of content. The consequences of this being, the program telling you that you no longer have the best possible overview when this content is read in the Edit Mode monitor. Thus, return you the timeline to get the best overview the program can give. When the timeline is rendered, this red line passes to the green to tell you that the program gives you the best overview. Then continuation (no more back to the no colored line to tell you your preview is the best, now it of a... red red/green indicator system, are looking for timeline made better overview and green you have found the best overview.)

So far, so everything is normal.

After that all that is said and done, this phase of troubleshooting seems to indicate that you are OK.

Now the important question and answer which must be placed forward to check...

    a. is the reading of your progressive 1080 p @23.97 images made by jerky of a second after the return of the timeline?

    b. is so is your problem in the preview? Or the problem is going to export the product, as well as the timeline preview?

    Thanks for the follow-up.
