Flash Player in a web page hosted on Windows Azure

First, I admit I am a noob in Flash. That said, I have a web page ASP.NET (ASPX) that hosts a flash animation, and the page works perfectly on my development machine but does NOT work when it is hosted on a Windows Azure web role.  The first image (PNG) appears and the triangular 'play' button is there, but when you click it the player rectangle turns all black.

I checked that the files are in place.  Baptism is correct.  As mentioned, it works locally.

It is a SWF file that loads a MP4 file and there is a xxx_config.xml file that provides the narrative subtitles in the video.  I did not the movie, but it was tainted with Camtasia Studio 7.  It generated object html basic tags that I copied and all support files.  As far as I know, the SWF file fails to load the MP4 file.

In theory, this should NOT be a problem between the areas because all files are in the same folder on the same web site.   I tried to add a crossdomain.xml for good measure, but that has no effect.  I also made sure to try to use a single server instance web unique in Azure where the load balancing between instances was the cause of the problem, but has no effect.

I have a support call to Microsoft, but of course, they say that they do not support Flash, and I imagine that Adobe will say that they do support a blue.

Anyone aware of any specific problems of azure?

PS I test in the same IE9 browser from my local machine, so the browser settings are identical to the case that works.

I fixed it myself.  It turned out to be a question of azure, not a Flash problem.  By default, when an azure web role instance is created (think VM), the IIS server is not configured with the MIME type for MP4 files.  You must add it to the file web.config of your project if you use this type of file.

IIS do not like to use the file types it does not know.

  • How can I insert a video windows media player on my Web page?

    Hello

I want to insert a video in windows media player on my Web page. (actually I want to insert 3 on 1 page, but to start, I'll be happy with 1!)

Dreamweaver, says it does not recognize the file type, and using dreamweaver is pretty bad on this topic.

    Any help gratefully received

    Thank you very much

Flash Video is the gold standard used on YouTube, FaceBook, MySpace and other video sharing sites now.  DW makes it easy to insert Flash Video, but harder for other types of files.

In Code view, paste this into your page and change the two instances of videofilename.wmv to yours.

  • Unable to see the video of Flash Player in the Web sites

I use Windows 7 x 64, with the Chrome browser OS a bit. Latest version of Flash Player 11.5.31.2 is installed but I can't see the video Flash Player embedded in Web sites. Why would it be?

While leaving some useful information for other people who may encounter this problem:

To help out we will need the following system information:

    -Operating system

    -Browser

    -Flash Player version - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

The first step to solve the problems with video playback is to work through the troubleshooting guide video for your operating system:

    -Windows - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_For_Windows_users

    -Mac - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_For_Mac_OS_users

Problems sometimes video and audio are caused to a level lower and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend that you try the links below to see how they play.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit because the HTML5 video link doesn't use Flash Player during playback.  You can check this by clicking on the HTML5 video and look for the words "On HTML5" at the bottom of the menu.

    -HTML5 video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w&html5=True

  • How do you put Adobe Flash Player on your Web site?

Hello friends, I want to put a few Adobe Flash Player on our website [link spam deleted] . Then please suggest how we can add Adobe Flash Player on our Blog [removed spam link]

    Thanks in advance.

    In a nutshell... "You can't."

Flash Player is a plug-in "browser." He moved to, lies on and extends the system of the end user. Impossible to put in a website and force him to run. It does not work like that.

You can put a link to the download page (for people who do not have Flash Player) on your page: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, but without a distribution license, you may not link directly to the dowloads themselves.

In addition, if you are integrating content (such as videos) Flash embed code must contain a file "expressInstall.swf", that provides a direct link to the download page for the latest version of Flash Player.

  • Why the Installation of Flash Player doesn't work with Chrome on Windows 7.

My operating system is Windows 7, and I use the Chrome browser. When I was advised to upgrade Flash Player for vs. 17, I did. Problems occurred immediately. I tried the advice on the forums. This was not helpful.

What I noticed, was that Flash Player 17 will not install on Vista, AND a claimed installation page information systems I used Vista! I've upgraded to Vista, but my operating system is Windows 7.

I wonder how many others who have upgraded from Vista face the same problem.

  • Flash Player will NOT work in 8.1 Windows useless

I'm now regretting upgrading to Windows 8.1 Flash Player will (even after following ALL the recommended fixes on the forums) does NOT work in Windows 8.1 it is now clear that there is no official reason - fix if there is, Microsoft would put an update which should fix the problem. As a result, we end up with a bunch of patched-together patches unofficial "maybe it works" - neither works.

As for many others with this problem, I have Windows 8.1, 64 bit system with IE 11. Yes, I have the latest version of the flash player installed. Yes, I see the bouncing ball or whatever the hell it is in the gray box... or clouds moving in the other box. Yes, Shockwave active in Manage Add-ons. Yes, the ActiveX filtering is not verified in respect of the security. I went through this list so many times, that my head is spinning. The most annoying part when I 'test' to see if the latest version of Flash is installed (sigh, of course, it is) this is the message: "you are not running IE in Windows 8" good duuhhh.» Of course I'm not. I just upgraded to your platform 8.1 stupid.

If someone is asleep at the switch from Microsoft? They roll 8.1 and screw everyone who installs it when it does not work with Flash? Shouldn't they tested this first? Why this problem has not been fixed yet? It is obvious that I'm not the only one who is frustrated beyond the point of view of white to this incompetence.

Anyone know if there is a fix coming out of this outrageous mistake? Or will just sit us and twiddle thumbs as the gang at Microsoft?

Flash Player is actually integrated in Internet Explorer on Windows 8 and 8.1.  There is nothing for you to download or install it from Adobe.

After the description of the problem, looks like you're going to a Web site and send a message that Flash Player is not found.

On most sites, there is JavaScript that determines which version of your browser and Flash are installed, so that it can determine what content to show you.  In Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft has changed the string that identifies Internet Explorer for these scripts, and it is very likely that the Web site you are visiting needs to make adjustments to account for the change.  There will probably be a chaotic transition period, as web properties major pointed out the problem and fix it.

Meanwhile, Mike's suggestions are good.  Use Compatibility Mode or another browser.  You can also contact the website (especially if they have a small shop) to make them aware of the problem.  You are on the end at the beginning of the adoption curve, and they may need up to a leader.

    Thank you!

    Hello JereTanner,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see you are trying to print web pages of a tablet of Surface. What model printer you are trying to print to? Also, is there an error, message, etc., when you try to print?

In general, ePrint is used when printing emails or transmission of documents / photos to the printer address, is the next how you try to print a web page?

Since it is a Windows 8 operating system, you can be able to install the full features software and print that way. When I know more about how you want to print, what happens when you try and which printer you are using, I will be able to help.
