Flashing underscore is missing

Today, my computer crashed because of what I guess is an overload of RAM. When it is first restarted after the crash, he was stuck on a line of flashing underscore one of the phases of my computer to startup (Logo HP > flashing underscore > starts the load bar > Windows Logo Glowing > welcome > Desktop). When I stopped and started again, he has started up as normal, however, flashing underscore was missing, and I have a black screen with nothing. He would start the load bar, while this detail, everything began normally and my computer was working normally.

Someone told me that it was the result of a missing file. He has not said if it's a good thing or a bad thing, just told me not to worry. Here's my question: is it a bad thing that the underscore character is missing? And if it is the result of a missing file, do I need to get it back or leave I just better without it?

Hello

As long as your computer starts and funtions normally, it may not be a problem. If you encounter problems with Windows in the future, please let us know.

It turns out that the flashing underscore is always there. It's just a ' blink and you'll miss it "kind of thing.

So my startup is normal now. Thank you for having responded, despite the fact that I didn't have a problem at first, it seemed.

    Hello

In this case I suggest you select the option 'System of valuation (restore your computer to its original factory State)' - this will reinstall Windows 7, all software drivers and original, and all of the original scores.

At the beginning of this procedure, you will have the option to backup your files (providing the files have not been corrupted)-this can be done for a connected external HDD or usb flash drives.  A full description of the backup process are under the heading "If you want to back up your personal files, follow these steps to create a back-up" on the following link.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01867418

Once completed, continue with the Factory Reset.

    **************************************************************

Once the process is complete recovery, you'll always be able to create your 1 set of recovery on a usb flash drive media - the procedure is detailed in the HP document on the following link.

Create recovery media - Windows 7.

  • Re: Satellite L655-11J flash map F8 missing 8.1 Win

First I searched on the internet I've read so many threads on this subject but none is regarding my problem.
    My wireless card is Broadcom 8.11n + + with ID PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_4727

Is not supported by new PVAT flash cards which I had to install in Windows 8.1

I noticed that in Windows 7 when I tried to install a new version of PVAT the F8 is missing,
If I was stuck in an old version.

I tied to add my ID wireless to the registry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA\WirelessAPL\BT WLANDP
as it is not listed with no luck

I think the only way is to contact the PVAT developers and ask them to re - support my wireless again in a new version if they make one, as I badly need it disable Bluetooth wireless as well.
Although I can turn the WIFI off but the light will stay on.
I there is another way, can someone say I'm willing to try

    Thanks in advance

    > Is not supported by new PVAT flash cards which I had to install in Windows 8.1

As far as I know the Satellite L655-11 isn t Win 8 taken in charge the laptop model and also 8.1 win is not supported too.

It s are only not on this WINDOWS 8.1 - made MODELS page supported UPDATE
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/JSP/checkWindows8_1Compatible.do?service=EU

This means that there is no 8 Win / Win 8.1 drivers for the L655 series.

    _Secondly_
The VAP (value added package) isn't out to win 8 or 8.1 Win
The VAP has been replaced by the system of Toshiba driver
In addition to get the FN key works, the utility Toshiba function key to winning 8.1 must be installed.

These two tools are needed to get the keys FN (also the F8 key) works correctly under Win 8 or 8.1 Win

  • Flashing underscore at the start

    Hello

It happened about 6 days ago but its now only ive had internet access I can post this question. Basically what has happened, on July 28, last Tuesday I was hd shut down my pc. Then I came back later in the day to return. Then it would start as usual, showing the logo of manufacturer and etc, then I see is a line of underscore/dash/hyphen / flashing line you name. So I thought something was wrong. So I turned off and turned back on the pc. came back. and ive yet to find a solution. people have suggested to insert the windows installation cd, but I still get the flashing line. I opened my PC, because I had read that it could be connected the HARD drive to the motherboard IDE cables. He went out, kicked it and put it back in. still nothing. Now, I am faced with a situation where I can't work because my files are on this PC. Can someone please suggest what to do?

    Hello Jasestyle,

If the BIOS does not recognize the hard drive at this time, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the computer for help.  It might be that the hard drive, the wiring or even the motherboard has gone bad.

  • Flash.ocx is missing for the downloaded flash game

I specified in the title is because it's the whole question and not in the browser. Anyhoo...

    Operating system: Windows 7

    Browser: Firefox (last update)

    Flash worm: 16.0.0.235

I have a flash downloaded on my desktop game. He worked before so I know that there is a solution, but I forgot it in time, that I deleted it then returned to him now. Whenever I try to play, being administrator or not, I get the same error message.

This program requires a component missing Windows

Looking for a solution on the Microsoft Web site. If a solution is available, there will be steps taken to resolve the problem.

    (Game details here.)

This program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included in this version of Windows.

I googled on how to solve this problem, it has been uninstall Flash completely and reinstalling from the ground upward. I just did this and nothing has changed. I've also seen to download the .ocx himself and place it in the folder of the game who needs them, that has not changed anything.

    Help?

Also, if I asked this before and you will remember me, sorry. I didn't not favorite the other thread and forgot.

The game is looking for the version of Internet Explorer from Flash Player.  (With a built-in Windows web browser, applications are usually embedding of instances of Internet Explorer)

The best way to solve this problem is to launch Internet Explorer and go ahead with the download at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

  • Adobe Flash Player plugin missing

I recently discovered that my Flash Player is outdated and compromise my system, so I uninstalled the old version (version 14.0) and went to the Adobe site and downloaded the latest version. However, I can't find the Firefox plugin. I searched all over the site and was unable to find it, so now I have no Flash Player for my browser. Can someone help me find the plugin?

In fact, according to Adobe, XP is still supported under version 15:
    https://get.Adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

If it still does not work, you can try to download an archived version from the Adobe Web site:

Just look at the last version worked for you.

  • First HP screen, then a black screen with a flashing underscore

    Hello!

I bought a new graphics (Asus GeForce GT 740 PhysX CUDA 2 GB) card for my desktop PC (HP Pavilion p6-2067sc) and have a problem. When I put in the card and start the PC the HP screen sometimes maybe 20 seconds and after that it's a black screen with a line flashes in the upper left corner. Ive tried many things to fix it, but have not found ways again, I updated from the BIOS to the latest update from HP.

OK, I just found out that if I connect the vga input mother board and boot the pc, and after 5 minutes I plug the vga in the gfx card, it shows that windows started normally, and im on the desktop, I now try to install the drivers etc and see if that will fix it.

  • Hardware changes not detected using a flash drive, the missing, system restore points tried every fix that MS can offer in Windows 7

All of a sudden, I have several problems with my computer.  I can't not computer to recognize a flash drive.  Printer works in the same usb port.  I used Device Manager, checked the drivers, made every difficulty that MS has to offer, each difficulty that Dell can offer, but the problem remains.  I don't feel uncomfortable so I don't have to play with the registry.  I uninstalled the drivers and rebooted.  The only changes that I did before this happened was to uninstall and reinstall I-tunes.  The flash drive, I use would be defective?  When I went to the system restore, my restore points have disappeared, that was the point where I uninstalled I-tunes.  I also noticed that when I tried to detect problems with the resolution of the problems of hardware and devices, it says "material changes may not have been detected.  In detail, it also shows "there is no configured windows in a way never install driver - edition".  WHAT?  I know that windows IS configured to automatically install.  (Deep breath)

Very well.  So I am at a loss.  Any suggestions?  Thank you very much for your time and your attention...

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft community. I will certainly help you with the problem you are experiencing. To better understand the issue, I would like to ask you a few questions.
    1. What is the model of your Dell computer?
    2. that all measures tried on your own to fix this?
3 have you tried to test the flash drive on another computer to see if it is faulty?

This problem arises usually when the flash drive is faulty or the chipset drivers are in conflict with the USB drivers.  I recommend you to consult the following Microsoft article and check.
