Flattening Multicam

I think that it is a basic question, but I can't find an answer in all the articles of multicam workflow.

I created source multicam interview footage with clips of 2 different cameras.  I've been editing with these clips, move successfully from one angle to another in the video tracks.  However, I'm not sure how to deal with the audio. Making clips have only two audio files, but I would like to be able to use all the four components of the music project when I do my final audio mix.  Ideally, I would like to finish editing, and then ' of the Nations United-nest ' my multicam source clips on the timeline sequence so that I could see all the audio and video tracks separately.  Is this possible?

When I unlink the clips in my calendar and then click twice on an audio track to see exactly what track it is, it opens the multicam source sequence in a new timeline with all the separate tracks. I wish that tracks to separate on the timeline in which I am editing, however.

I hope I'm being clear.  Thanks for your help.

What is less reassuring is that I have no idea where on the audio bit sequence I'm looking for is.

It's all about him.  Select all the audio from the sequence source, each element, each track, cut, then enter the multicam sequence and paste.  This gives you full access to its original in the multicam sequence.

hundreds of clips.

Hundreds of clips?  That makes sense to me.  Work MultiCam is generally 2-4 clips, a by / the angle of the camera.  You said yourself that you are working with only 2 angles, so you will have only two elements in the source sequence.

  • Can I duplicate a Multicam clip?

I have a multicam clip enough complex that FCPX don't sync too well, so I did most of it manually. Now it's done, I know it would have been much better if it was two separate blocking clips.

To save all the hassle of syncing it yet once, I would like to duplicate the Multicam Clip and remove then off a beginning and the end of the other, so the duplicate clips should be completely independent of each other.

It doesn't seem to be a way to duplicate in the browser of Multicam items (probably because they have the same links and changing one will affect the other).

Is there a way to create an independent clip of MC duplicate?

    Hey Andy,

If you create a new library and move the multicam to the event in the new library must copy and allow you to independently change the original lib.

  • Disabled but MultiCam clip the original always support here

I am almost at the end of a long project and all my blocking clips are red with the warning triangle.  The original media, where the multicam clip is composed of, is still there and accessible if this isn't a case of media missing or not coupled. In this case if I am posting in original mode of listening or proxy.  There are two other library projects which are being edited in exactly in the same way, but they all work perfectly.  My only saving grace is that the library works fine on my laptop so I can power through the project on my MBP, but I want to understand the problem when it happens in the future.  Is there a way to 'fix' the multicam clip so that it can be updated without having to replace the old with the new?  It's a pain.  Sorry if this has been covered in another thread, but I was unable to find one.

My library is on an external drive and I ran the first care about it.

    Strange.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

WWhat do see when you open the multicam clip in the multicam Editor?

  • the audio is still audible even after muting in multicam editing

    Hello

I have a strange behavior: in a multicam editing, I cut the track, I pull down of the dB, I uncheck the audio but I can still hear the noise! It's really weird. When I go to edit/set his silence she is silent, but if I want that part muted, I can't. Tried the new compound clip, same problem.

Could you post a screenshot of what happens? Could help to see what is causing the problem. Maybe the project Editor screenshot and/or multicam.

  • mix of MultiCam - audio cam and audio desk clip? How?

I have 3 clips - a cam with audio mediocre, an another cam with fair on audio camera (including public environmental sounds) and good quality audio directly from the desktop.

I have create a multicam video and want to then mix the last two audio sources.

I don't see how to do this.

    Help!

    Thank you in advance.

Edit the multicam clip in a project. Select the one you want. Use the components expand audio. In the Inspector in Channel Configurations, adjust the desired channels. Assuming you want to cut the image for audio, the easiest way is to detach the audio and to cut the vision angle Viewer.

  • Files converted to not Clip Multicam

    Hello

I asked the question last night: Convert MTS to Apple ProRes 422 HQ in compressor

Thank you for all your help and advice. However, I have a new problem.

I used EditReady to convert my MTS to H.264 files for editing. As I said, conversion of files to the Apple ProRes format makes each file about 8 times larger than the already huge MTS files.

The issue I'm having is that I can't use the current H.264 file for editing multicamera format. My Angle Viewer is ready, but when I create a new multicam clip (in my case, using only 2 angles) only showed one of the angles. If I double click on the item in the editing multicam, I always get only one angle. It's like FCP ignores the second clip.

I tried convert the file and even tried to work in another project, but I keep getting the same results. Am I missing something simple?

The good news is the conversion of files resolved a problem earlier, I had audio popping on the file.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

How do you synchronize clips? Do you have numbered angle to the clips so that the application knows what they '; Re not the same 'camera '. If you use media convert, they will have camera metadata identical so FCP guess they are from the same source and not separate sources.

  • Clip of MultiCam, but with audio from SEVERAL sources at the same time?

I recorded a seminar using several audio and video sources. Audio sources include a wire tie, room microphone and read directly from a computer.

I got all the raw materials imported into FCPX and created a multicam clip, and everything is synchronized perfectly.

For the video, I know how to make the cut between my different cameras.

But for audio, I would be able to play several audio channels at once - namely, lapel mic and the mic to the audience. How can I do this?

I know I could put the multicam audio clip: setback (for example) then also drag the microphone to the audience for the game. But that means every time I make an edit, I have to make it through two sources and must be absolutely sure that they fall never out of sync.

I guess I could drag the multicam clip in the timeline twice (one above the other, so two are playing simultaneously), with a video source set to none. But the same problem - I always have to be very careful with the changes, two parallel versions never move out of sync.

Is there a better way to do it?

There are also sometimes I can do some automation of the volume of the different channels... so everything what you are proposing, please keep this in mind.

    Thank you!

In fact with a multicam clip you need not "stuff" to work with multiple audio. It has excellent support directly in the application.

  • MultiCam Twitter audio clip

My audio finished on a multicam clip is Twitter and fluctuates during playback on a completed project.  How do I fix this?

I don't know how the fix the audio problem already on your Timeline, but a possible solution is to take the audio master and it sync on the timeline.

If you use audio of one clips/angles in the browser, simply download the timecode of this clip in the viewer of the Angle. Note the precise time code. Place a marker at this location in the Timeline.

Back to the individual item in the browser, press the point to this time code.

Select audio only and below the multicam timeline and secure the cover on the marker.

They must match. You may have to repeat this step throughout your calendar if you have cut out all the parts and is not an ongoing program.)

I would be reasonably comfortable untangle a film multicamera concert full length, but what I can not understand is how to make a film of highlights of the concert using multicam without getting into trouble. I did a whole show before multicams so I do just the best editing without Miss, but I imagined if I try and make a film of highlights using multicam, it could be problematic because I use the duration of the sequence. I don't want to have manually ensure synchronization of cuts with the music. I'm probably not explain very well so I apologize. The law of pan is to control the stereo output. You should make your mixture in the project not within the multicam clip if possible.

  • workflow - several videos of a multicam

I'm trying to help a local church with their media.

I would really appreciate help in the best way to create several videos of a single clip multicam. I import everything from two or three cameras and two recorders audio non - cam, and then create a multicam video. I created a project and edit the multi in the timeline where I spend in the viewer of the angles with strikes (not in the editor of the angle).

When I'm happy, I want to download sections of the multi (music and speech to a church service).

This is where I get confused; I have remove the sections I don't want to go to the timeline and load the remaining part.

Then I Ctrl-Z to return to the multi set, remove more and download the rest. Repeat till done!

I can't help but thing it of a stupid way of work and would be very grateful if someone lights!

There must be a better way.

    Thank you in anticipation
