Flight Simulator Hangs at startup?

I tried to start Flight simulator X today. It load almost to the point where I can select a plane, but then randomly says "a fatal error has occurred" and then 5 seconds later it will say "the program has stopped working". Yesterday, it was very good, but today, it will not work. I just updated my video drivers, compatibility mode changed, ran as administrator and these updates installed:

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (KB2285068)

Update of security for the Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (KB2467173)

Update of security for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 (KB2538218)

  • Flight Simulator to crash

Flight Simulator Hangs at seemingly random intervals, without any warning, no error. In the application event log, the following event is displayed:

"The description for event ID 0 in source is not found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event is on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information has been included in the event:

    7 "

Data at the end sometimes 6, sometimes 7. There is nothing in any of the other event logs that seems to make a link to this. I thiught it may be a matter of landscape, cleaner one so I added last, but still no joy. My system is Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit. PC is a 4-processor Intel Q6600 with 4 GB of RAM Flight Sim 2004 version.

  • During the installation of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, the following error occurs: the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using.

Former title: Microsoft Flight Simulator will not install on Windows 7

I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  I try to install MFS 2004.  The first 3 discs work fine, but when I insert disk 4 to complete the installation, I get the following error message:

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using.  Check your computer's system information to see if yo need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher. »

    I have a Dell Studio 1558

    Intel i5 - 520 M

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 graphics card

    8 GB RAM DDR3

    What can I do?

    Hello

    1. which edition of Windows are you using? Is - this edition is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Given that the game is compatible with Windows 7, I suspect that the conflict can be 32-bit or 64-bit architecture.
The link below shows the compatibility of this game with Windows 7.

    Method 1.
We must ensure that the edition of the game must correspond with the operating system.
If you use 64-bit in this game, you need the 64-bit Windows to install it.
    Method 2.
If the above information matching I you recommend to start the computer in clean condition and then try to install the game.
See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.

  • flight simulator 2004 brake problem

I posted a brake problem, indicating that the brakes have remained on after several recovery re-installation of Flight Simulator 2004 but I still have the problem even after installation of Flight Simulator X or facility the earlier 2002. I have tried everything I can think so in the game, but without success. I thought it might be a problem in the registry. I went into regedit and impossible to locate any file associated with Flight Simulator. I don't know where else to look at. I suspect that there may be some files on the system that keeps loading after each installation, but I don't know what it would be. It takes so long to install the game every time I pretty much gave up. Help!

    Hi DavidLaing,

    Method 1

    Method 2
