Flight Simulator to crash

Flight Simulator Hangs at seemingly random intervals, without any warning, no error. In the application event log, the following event is displayed:

"The description for event ID 0 in source is not found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event is on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information has been included in the event:

7 "

Data at the end sometimes 6, sometimes 7. There is nothing in any of the other event logs that seems to make a link to this. I thiught it may be a matter of landscape, cleaner one so I added last, but still no joy. My system is Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit. PC is a 4-processor Intel Q6600 with 4 GB of RAM Flight Sim 2004 version.

Hi impearse,

As in the link below for Microsoft games Flight simulator X gold edition is not compatible with Windows 7 and this is perhaps the reason for the question.

You can try to install the game using compatibility mode in Windows 7 and check if it works.

  • Flight Simulator 2004 game crashes

Original title: Flight Sim 2004 vs. Windows 7 (Home Premium)

Recently bought 8500 XPS from Dell with Windows 7 (Home Premium) installed.  Installerd Flight Sim 2004; but it crashes whenever I tried to use it.  Finally, I just uninstalled the program and abandoned.  But now I was wondering why a Microsoft Game will not play on a Microsoft operating system!  Is there and answer there?  I'm bored of course play FS!

    Hi Henry,.

Thank you for joining Microsoft Community where you will find all the necessary information on Microsoft products!

When you attempt to play Flight Simulator 2004 game, it crashes.

I could imagine the frustration you feel when you are unable to play games.

This can be caused because of third-party software, problem with the video driver or sound driver.

You did changes to the computer before the show?

To check if the problem is due to third party software, problem with the video driver or the audio driver, I suggest you follow the steps in the site mentioned:

    Game hangs or quits unexpectedly

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/303032

Note: once you are done with the boot, follow step 3 of article intended to set your computer to normal startup:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

You can also get the latest drivers for the computer on the site:

    http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/product/XPS-8500

I hope this helps. If the problem persists, or if you have problems of Windows in the future, let us know and we would be happy to help you.

  • Flight Simulator with Acceleration Expansion Pack will not charge.

I got to many (over 75) hours of enjoyment with Flight Simulator after that that it was loaded.  I am also under Just Flight expansion 'Cargo Pilot' with FSX and also have seamless integration with this product until Thursday.  I stole a flight from Indianapolis to Norfolk, and once the plane landed as always by Cargo pilot tried to close the Flight Simulator.  The game is not responding and crashed.  After 25 minutes, I rebooted my system.  Even now, I can't Flight Simulator to open it.  I load the title area and start thinking like it wants to load the program but nothing happens.

I want to record the reinstall to be a last resort full that I performed many missions in FS and I don't want to lose my flight log or a history of flight.

Can I do short of uninstalling and reinstalling?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Check in Windows Update if updates took place before the game crashed?

To resolve this problem, you can try renaming the file Logbook.bin. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. click on Start.

    2. click on My Documents or Documents.

    3. double-click on the file folder of Microsoft Flight Simulator X to open it.

    4. right click on the Logbook.bin file and then click Rename.

    5. rename the Logbook.OLD and then press ENTER.

6 start Flight Simulator X to create a new log file.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • OK to remove c:\windows\system32\uiautomationcore.dll to solve the CTD of Flight Simulator?

A large number of users of Microsoft Flight Simulator in Windows 7 seems to be having the same problem, which crashes to desktop. In the thread following the removal of c:\windows\system32\uiautomationcore.dll has been proposed as the "solution" to this problem: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproappcompat/thread/fb1808ff-92f0-478b-9826-f2ed6fbeae97

Assuming that it is indeed the case, is it possible with impunity? (or at least with acceptable suffer, keep in mind that a lot of people have invested a lot of time and efford - and money - in Flight Simulator).

You can rename it, and if you have any problems, then name again.

No, the c:\windows\system32\uiautomationcore.dll is part of Windows and should not be deleted or modified.

I appreciate it. However its seems that various people (many?) removed, and their system keeps going (and still works for Microsoft Flight Simulator), so this is appararently not essential. The consequence of not removing no seems to be not being able to use an application that you may have bought the computer to use in the first place. I hope that a response with a nuance more is possible.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator: Gold Edition Windows 8 compatibility

I recently bought a new desktop PC Windows 8. Before buying this, I called the Microsoft customer service (which was a horrible experience overall) and they confirmed that my version of FSX IS compatible. Then, I bought the PC and loaded the game on my computer. The game was running, so I decided to change the air traffic at high. Within 2 seconds, the game crashed. That is to say the frequency of horrific images on FSX for Windows 8. I then tried to open the game and this note came: error ID = 25null Just to indicate, the 2nd time I bought FSX; the first copy I bought for my old computer on Windows Vista. The memory card and the graphics have been destroyed because of the game. (I do not understand how it is possible to make it work on Windows XP.) The 2nd for my new computer Windows 8. Then, once more I am my way through to the right person customer support, and he said that my version of FSX is not compatible with Windows 8. Then... I really need a clear answer... Thank you!

    Evan,

Go to C:\Program files\Microsoft Games, flight Simulator X, find the FSX file. EXE and right click on it. And select send to - desktop (create shortcut).

Try to open the file. If it fails with the same error, then right-click on it and click Properties.

Place a check on "run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows 7 or earlier versions.

    Let us know the results.
