Foglight Management Server and Foglight Performance Analysis Server

Running:

  1. Foglight Management Sever (5.6.4.0) on Windows Server 2008 R2 x 64, 8 GB of RAM, 40 GB of storage, 4 vCPUs
  2. Foglight Performance Analysis Server (7.0) on Windows Server 2008 R2 x 64, 8 GB of RAM, 120 GB of storage, 2 vCPUs

Both are running on virtualized servers.  We are moving our servers to a new data center and I wonder to combine these two servers.  I am unable to find any documentation that provides configuration information to support this and support of Quest also recommends maintaining that separate them (as they are not all supporting documents).

My question is this, can you successfully met these two services on the same virtual server?  I am someone of hope and can give an overview if they have had problems or not (what to watch out for, etc.).

Keep us separate database server yet and who will broadcast another SQL box.

In general, the recommendation is to run these on separate dedicated servers. May I ask why you guys would like to group together? Please keep in mind that these two engines can expect to perform heavy work loads and you could increase your risk of hitting problems if you had to consolidate them. Just my $0.02 - it could be that useful.

    Please guide me the Foglight command-line installation as I'm not sure how can I continue because my FMS_HOME is in Oracle.

    It seems you are trying to install Foglight agent manager by using the command line installer to ensure the follow-up of your Oracle database.  Foglight Oracle agent can be run either on the Oracle server, or another place as a remote agent locally.  As an agent remote is most common.  In general, this isn't your office, btu a server.  The FMS or another utility server.  You would normally run the installation program from the command line on the computer you want to monitor Oracle of.  Then the agent would run there and collect information of your Oracle instance.  You also mention the analysis of performance in the subject of this thread.  For Performance analysis, which must be a local installation on your Oracle server, but it's a different Installer than indicated above.

  • Performance parameters to validate the performance of the managed server

    Hello

    We have 5 servers managed in weblogic domain, each managed servers on different unix box, we will decommission one of the managed server.

    Now the question is how, how we measure the impact on performance, load etc. of the managed servers. Once we have removed from service in 1 server load is managed by 4 servers now. How can we better measure the results here.

    Your advice and help is very appreciated.

    Thank you

    WLDF is designed with the use of production in mind. Performance will impact, of course, depends on how much and how often it will collect data. As a general rule, you pay only for the active components of WLDF. So, you can configure it in the production environment and allow him progressively according to the needs.

  • Where to increase Java Heap for Admin settings and the managed server.

    Hello Experts

    I have issues with the JVM arguments of memory expansion for the Admin and managed servers. I tried in some places to increase the arguments of memory (Xms and Xmx 1024 m) but is not effective. When I start the Server Admin Server and managed, I don't see the segment increased memory settings. Here's what I see-

    "From WLS line: / oracle/app/bi/Oracle_BI1/jdk/java - Server - Xms256m-Xmx512m - XX: MaxPermSize = 512 m.

    I have the following arguments of memory in the setDomainEnv.sh located in < DOMAIN_HOME > / bin

    XMS_SUN_64BIT = "2048".

    export XMS_SUN_64BIT

    XMX_SUN_64BIT = "2048".

    export XMX_SUN_64BIT

    It looks that it did not work, so I added an entry in the setOBIDomainEnv.sh file in the hope to increase the memory of Java, but that does not work either. Here is the setOBIDomainEnv.sh file.

    jvm.jpg

    Really, try to understand where and how the JVM settings are controlled from. Please guide me.

    Enjoy your time.

    Rakesh

    Under the setobidomainenv.sh you will also find the tag server administrator to increase settings in jvm in there too. Depending on your version of the seller and little Java (Sun, Oracle, IBM, HP and vs 32 - bit 64-bit) so change accordingly

    for example:

    If the server group is not Olivier then we can assume that it is the server administrator

    If ["${JAVA_VENDOR}" = "Sun"]; then

    # - UseSSE42Intrinsics required for the server running EM

    If ["${JAVA_USE_64BIT}" = "true"]; then

    # Server Admin memory for 64-bit Sun JVM args

    SERVER_MEM_ARGS = ""-Xms256m - Xmx1024m - XX: MaxPermSize = 512 m - XX:-UseSSE42Intrinsics ""

    export SERVER_MEM_ARGS

    Similarly, in setdomain.sh, you will find the args as below:

    XMX_SUN_64BIT = '512 '.

    export XMX_SUN_64BIT

    XMS_SUN_64BIT = "256".

    export XMS_SUN_64BIT

    If ["${JAVA_VENDOR}" = "Sun"]; then

    WLS_MEM_ARGS_64BIT = "- Xms256m - Xmx512m".

    export WLS_MEM_ARGS_64BIT

    WLS_MEM_ARGS_32BIT = "- Xms256m - Xmx512m".

    export WLS_MEM_ARGS_32BIT

    After setting their just executer./setdomain.sh et./setobidomainenv.sh and then try to start the admin and managed servers and see the processes running with the updated values.

  • Help, please! Windows WebLogic admin server and managed server service

    Hello

    I have an admin server and 2 managed servers. I want to create a windows service so that my server admin and 2 managed servers start as a windows service.

    I'm following the documentation at: http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2011/02/01/weblogic-as-a-windows-service/

    but I have problems understanding as the documentation lacks some important points. It says that I need to create a custom startup script.

    Can someone please tell me: -.

    (1) I have to create 3 different with 3 different (one for the server admin) file names and 2 for managed servers?

    (2) what should be the names? I've created a script with the name startAdminServer.cmd for the administrator of the server to destination = > C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\config\startup but it gives me an error when I try to run the script by saying 'the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. "

    (3) is the content of the script correct admin = >

    SETLOCAL

    Set DomainName = Wonders_Domain

    Set USERDOMAIN_HOME = C:\BEA103\user_projects\domains\Wonders_Domain

    Define SERVER_NAME = AdminServer

    Set WL_HOME=C:\BEA103\wlserver_10.3

    Set WLS_USER = weblogic

    Set WLS_PW = weblogic

    Set PRODUCTION_MODE = true

    MEM_ARGS =-Xms512m-Xmx512m set

    Call "% WL_HOME%\server\bin\installSvc.cmd".

    ENDLOCAL

    (4) after I executed the script mentioned above what are my next steps? I create a similar script as the one above for example managed servers and run them individually?

    (5) after I ran all 3 scripts change the installSvc.cmd file to set a delay so that the managed servers start after the server administrator? How do I do that?

    I would appreciate any assistance. Please let me know if you have any questions. I tried to explain it the best possible.

    Hello

    The post below

    http://WebLogic-wonders.com/WebLogic/2011/02/01/WebLogic-as-a-Windows-service/

    shows how we can make the server administrator and the server run as a windows service, referring to an area of sample called 'Wonders_Domain '.

    Your questions:

    (* 1) I have to create 3 different with 3 different (one for the server admin) file names and 2 for managed servers? *

    Rep. : Yes, the settings of the server administrator and the managed server are different then you its recommended to have scripts for each of the servers.

    (* 2) what should be the names? I've created a script with the name startAdminServer.cmd for the administrator of the server to verbal-online C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\config\startup but it gives me an error when I try to run the script by saying 'the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. " *

    Rep. : The name is not important. The values contained in the script should be relevant to your area of work environment.

    The values in the pasted script refers to the environment of the author, replace them with your own environment settings.

    You can specify the servername, DomainName, USERDOMAIN_HOME, WL_HOME according to your environment.

    Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Kind regards

  • create cluster and the addition of Managed server

    Hi all
    I created an area that has only adminServer. I created using config wizard and used the Oracle Service Bus option - 11.1.14(Oracle-OSB1). In the next screen, I have deleted creating managed server (Oracle_OSB1).
    I ended up having just adminserver.

    Now, I want to expand this area with adminserver to add the managed server and cluster.
    Any suggestion/documentation will be very useful.

    OK, in case you do not want to add any additional products/services then it is possible to do using config wizard. There are many other options available. Please see the section "configuration of cluster methods;

  • Foglight performance tuning - Cache Code JVM

    Just curious about this setting. Currently, our new FMS are amazing. But I noticed this option in the field guide. No indication on that? The docs a bit thin. When I use it? What is the default if I don't specify? How to monitor the need to increase this?

    Performance Tuning field Guide

    To optimize the execution of code in larger environments, you can increase the size of the

    JVM code cache.

    To increase the size of the JVM code cache:

    1 open /config/foglight.config.

    2. change the line foglight.vm.option0 as follows:

    Foglight.VM.option0 = '-XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize = 128 m "

    3. restart the management server.

    The default setting is different based on the platform of the JVM.

    It is default to 1024 m on 64-bit systems or 32 m on most systems except Solaris where it could be 48 m.

    It sets the size used by the cache code during compilation JIT compiler. If this cache is small you will receive errors like this in the log file

    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: CodeCache is full. Compiler has been disabled. Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: Try increasing the code cache size using -XXReservedCodeCacheSize=

    And it allows to disable the JIT compiler, which will result in reduced performance because all dynamic logic as rules and other groovy scripts will no longer be dealt with by the JIT.

    The default settings will work in most cases, but a big FMS with many objects and rules may require a greater reserve of cache to keep the happy JIT compiler.

    A conflict between the port of the server and the default administration port is originally not not the server starts reflected by this error messages.

    Essentially two processes try to use the same port, and even if it is not clearly specified in the documentation of WLS, each server uses port 9002 as default administration port.
    This problem can be solved by changing the ' Port of local directors of substitution: "the server in conflict to a different value for each server in the same machine:

    Sign in to the administration Console
    Expand "environment-> servers.
    Select the appropriate server
    In the 'Général' tab, expand the advanced option
    Change the value of: "replace local Port Administration:' '.

  • Cannot start WebLogic managed server

    Hello

    I have a domain weblogic on a physical machine with two servers (AdminServer and osb_server1 [Managed Server]). (Weblogic 10.3.6)
    I started nodeManager and registered the domain by using the command nmEnroll in WLST.
    I can start "AdminServer" drawn nmStart ('AdminServer') command. AdminServer start correctly.

    However, when I want to start managed server (osb_server1):
    1. in the WebLogic administration console, he said:
    (Warning) User is not authorized to perform operations of the lifecycle on the server osb_server1.
    (Warning) All selected servers are currently in a State that is not compatible with this operation or are not associated with a Node Manager running or you are not authorized to perform the requested action. No action will be taken.

    2 using the startManagedWebLogic.cmd script after you have entered the name of user and password, it returns authentication denied.

    Did you reboot AdminServer after deleting the LDAP authentication provider?
    I think that your managed server is always try to authenticate the user via ldap authentication provider.
