• Wireless router will not connect at home, but will be at other places.

  Recently, we moved and chose ATT UVerse as on the network provider (no other choices available).  The problem is with the connection wireless with my Toshiba laptop.  I can connect to other places that use ATT as a supplier; or with any other provider (Charter).

  My original Windows was 8.0.  I have since upgradedto 8.1.  This problem has occurred on both systems.

  Windows will suddenly start writing in my office - and sometimes other places - things like "Desktop.ini" file.

  Don't know much about computers. But I can tell u desktop.ini is a normal file.

  To stop seeing this file:

  1. open your windows folder

  2. click on the view tab

  I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here regarding the placement of VMDK.  I agree with what others have said about her becomes more complicated when you across several data VMFS stores VMDK.  But having said that there are good reasons why you can spread them out.  You can store files to boot OS on disk volumes and slower data for servers in high performance like SQL and Exchange on a higher level of storage for example.

  Another thing to keep in mind - if I remember correctly, by default a snapshot for a virtual machine with VMDK in several stores data is stored in the location where the first VMDK was created.  It is important to understand how snapshots can become very large, if you're not careful, and you could accidentally fill a LUN, and take a number of VMs.  I believe you can make a change to the VMX to change the location where the snapshot files are stored so you can look into that as well.

  I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch, mid-2010 2.4 GhZ Intel Core Duo processor 4 GB. Mac OSX Yosemite running. I also downloaded an image. It's the scroll bar on the side of the FB page. I can try to get others if you want to see other examples. Squares tend to blink and change shape, so it is difficult to get a screen shot good.

  You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Firefox > Preferences > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.
