  Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Select the BIOS (usually f10) and under the Advanced or the Diagnostic tab, you will find the possibility to run tests on the hard drive and memory.  Post back with the details of any error message.

  Note:  If the option to run these tests is not available in the Bios Menu, use the menu diagnosis f2 .

  You can also publish returns with the following details.

  1. the full model number and your laptop Nr series 210-2000 of Mini - see here for a guide to the location of this information or the list here.

  2 the full version of the operating system that you use (IE Windows 7 64-bit).

• Wireless laptop running Vista 32 and wired desktop under Vista 64 can access Internet, but not each other!

  My laptop Vista 32 unreal access router and ping its own IP address, but no access to Vista 64-bit Wired Office with ping or try to access folders shared I place some months ago and used without problem until about 2 days ago. I recently did a restore of the laptop but it worked after that and I adjusted all the settings. I have Net bios over TCP/IP enabled on both machines. I have two machines on the workgroup and file sharing is enabled on both. Vista 64 desktop computer can access the Internet but can not access the shared folders that I put in this PC! He cannot ping the router either but can be accessed via the routers Web page. The router is configured correctly as well. I became a master browser errors on Vista 64 desktop until I changed the registry on the laptop off car with respect to the list of servers. I'm a computer technician with networking experience, but am confused on this one. There are so many problems over there near the mine, but they usually have xp machines trying to access Vista or vice-verse. In addition, they cannot access the Internet generally. If anyone out there has any intelligent suggestions I'm desperate, but know that I have this research completely so guess I did all the basic troubleshooting to save time you and me. Thanks in advance to anyone with advice!

  Hey thanks for getting back to me, I wanted to let you know that I could solve the problem! I'm not sure excatly what the problem was, but I went and bought a fixed register a program so that I paid for, as you no doubt know the free just ruin your machine more than it is useful, well I ran that and restarted and BOOM! Now even if I can connect to each computer and the internet. I'm still not able to ping? Now when I say that this is not so much genral, the laptop I can ping any name of site Web and number but not the PC. On the PC I can ping its own IP address but not the router or laptop? But it has no bearing on anything so I anticipate leaving me well enough alone. I how ever to download a graphics professional ping program, but not to worried about it! Thank you so much for you help and if I need more help, I hope you are avalibale!

  Setup wireless on the printer make sure that the computer is connected to the network, first of all.  You must temporarily connect the USB cable to the computer, but all first install the HP software CD.  Do not connect the USB cable until the software tells you too. The software will ask you how you want to connect to the printer.  Select wireless and will ask you to connect the USB cable.  The software must place the computer is connected to the network.  Select your network and enter the password wireless.  The software will transfer the information wireless to the printer via the USB cable.  Once the printer is connected wireless you will be asked to remove the USB cable.  Complete the configuration of the software, and you should be all set.

• Can not get the new laptop to connect to my wireless network but connects to others

  I have just bought a new laptop Dell Inspiron 1545 to Dell.com and have tried to set up the wireless internet for the past hours. The laptop running Windows Vista Home Basic Edition, & my wireless router is an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station (about 4-5 years). Below is a list of problems / advice I've come across so far:

  (1) when trying to connect to a network, my network don't appears in the list of local networks sporadically even if she lost the signal strength of any nearby wireless signal (I must refresh the list to make it appear sometimes)
  (2) when my network is displayed in the list, it is described as a network that is not secure; There are 2 others that come and go in the list that are also not guaranteed, but I was able to connect through one of them.
  (3) when I try to connect via my network it either says unable to connect immediately or poster progress bar, then after a minute or two, says that it cannot connect.
  -to diagnose the problem, I can exclude is not not in the range of my camera as I tried to connect when I'm 2 feet more far
  -It also says view wireless connections again and try again, but this brings me to the same screen
  -L' diagnostics screen mentions that "the network is"hidden"and is either not in range of this computer or wireless settings on this computer do not match the settings of the network." (is there a setting I'm familiar with that?)
  (4) I checked device drivers and all said that they are working correctly
  (5) I can connect to the internet via a direct connection to the router via a cable ethernet not wireless

  Well, it looks like the old router was the problem. You have a new N Wireless for about $80 as suggested and it works like a charm. At took 5 seconds for your laptop to recognize and connect to it and were without problems since then. Thanks again for the help guys... I hope that I won't bother you again =)

  Our hp envy m6 has been working well for some time now, but there always randomly just stopped to answer our internet while other devices may still. It says connected to our internet but then says no network internet. Is it possible to easily correct this or should I go to a computer store.

  Hi my HP C7280 stopped scanning for my HP Pavilion DV6 laptop. I get an error message that announnces that the scanner is not found and offers this detail: error 4, [(1,0,80040008), (3,60,0)] - all the Greeks; () Error message comes just after that, the printer is on and basically tells that the scanner is not discovered. The printer is discovered and available for printing and can be used. The HP laptop running Win 7, has a processor core i5 and 4 GB of RAM so reasonable machine spec. The connection is wired network hub and wireless for PC network. It worked well for a long time so nothing inherently wrong there. My second PC is also connected to hub and has no wireless card so it cannot test more wireless. Printing works fine, and the fact local copy. I tried many things including the reading of the solutions on this forum. So far I have tried: 1 - remove and reinstall the complete driver and software associated with including download suite latest version (in fact this twice now) 2 - analysis of the other computer on my home network - it works very well and its an old Sony PC with Win XP and 1.5 GB of RAM 3 - following detailed advice in another forum poster who advise to check the status of the various services of MS to see that they are present and has started or auto start. 4 - scan and print doctor - all advice followed without result - seems a bit basic and checks actually all the drivers, services, and other software layers necessary to connect to the scanner? So far, I think (and no claim for genius): 1 - the material is OK - it is detected on the network by another PC and will scan for that PC 2 - the problem is a little deeper than just device drivers and the associated hp software otherwise a reinstall would clearly be question No. 3 - my laptop is trying to discover the scanner as soon as printer is online but is unable to do because something in the chain of events are broken. It's frustrating, so I hope that someone out there is a lot more clever than me (and you know you are) and can see the way forward. Thanks Al

  No, not a ridiculous thought at all. It is certainly a problem with one or more .dll files. The problem is that I don't know which. I spoke with a software engineer and according to him the guy who wrote this software no longer with HP, so there is no one to interpret the exact cause of the error codes. The main reason that according to him was to give this the same different .dll error code sometimes. It was his recommendation to try L4 uninstallation, then I told him that I had you already try that. His answer was: "well, hope there's a new cause of backup, you have to format it to solve the problem." I would like to have a better answer. If I had this printer model and sometime, I could find the file .dll or two that is causing the problem by voluntarily breaking installation and fixing it then. The problem is that I have not this printer, or time to do all the necessary steps to properly isolate the causes. I wish I did, because I wish I had a better solution which does not require a format. It's the only way I'm afraid.

  I use SimplePass since I bought this laptop and it has always worked well for me. Now suddenly it seems SimplePass does not recognize Hotmail/Outlook as a login page (than that makes sense?)

  Whenever I visit outlook.com now simplepass do not ask me to slide my finger. Whenever I connect to a new simplepass (non-registered) e-mail address don't ask me whether I want to save. It still works on other sites as well (for example, facebook and this forum)

  SimplePass Web page offers little assistance, saying that I need to upgrade to the version of windows 8 first and see if that helps. (but I have fear of the version of win8 will have even more problems because I use win7..?)

  The strangest thing is that it used to work. I don't know what I could have done it spoil. The only thing I can think is that I might have deleted some of my history/cookies? I don't know if this would affect SimplePass, but then why would it still work on facebook and other sites... ?

  However! As of today, it started working again! I think it has something to do with one of the updates from HP that has recently settled on my computer. (the simplepass bar is black instead of yellow, every time he suggests sliding me my finger)

  With the update my hotmail webcards seem to work perfectly again, then BRAVO!

• Pavilion a6500f loses wireless Internet adapter

  I have a Cisco WUSB600N wireless adapter which loses the network and the Internet after several hours.  The only way to restore is to restart.  I get the error message Windows cannot automatically bind IP network protocols.  The computer has an NVIDIA chipset and I have the latest drivers (WIN7) for the NVIDIA GEOFORCE Board 7100/630i and the adapter.

  I simply disabled IPv6 on the adapter wireless through advanced properties (no need to box regedit or order > ipconfig/release).  Apparently, many combos of router/adapter (especially older routers) cannot deal w/ IPv6 under Windows 7.  I guess I could check for the firmware on my BELKIN 6 + router Mimo (model No. F5D9231 - v.41) but it seems to work now so I didn't try it.

  Funny, but it affects only one of the three HP computers.

  Are the two computers to the same distance from the router?   How many bars do you plan to connect?  You use without wireless - G or wireless-N?  Try clicking on the bars (next to the lower-right clck) then click on Open network and sharing Center, then click on wireless network connection and see that the number of MB/s is just above the bars in the middle of the right.  You should see something like 54 Mbps and at least 2 or 3 bars.
