  • Hello. Coding CSS does not work with v16. The site is something I coded myself. He managed the validation of HTML and CSS. Cleared cookies &amp; restored to ltvds back.

    The code works in all other browsers.

    I appreciate all the work you are already doing and any help looking for a solution to this problem.

    Thank you.

    Firefox does not load the CSS (CSS/style. CSS)

    The character encoding of the plain text document has not been declared. The document will be made with text truncated in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the file must be declared in the transfer protocol or file needs to use a byte as a signature of coding order mark. @ http://www.shelflifemagazine.com/css/style.css

    Try to remove the attribute type for the CSS file.

    You have:

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" type="type/css"/>

    Use it instead:

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" />

  • HTML &amp; CSS does not work in the iphone browser

    My website looks fine in safari and firefox, but when I watch the divs on an iphone/ipad, etc get cut and does not develop the full screen.

    Also when I do a browser compatibility test I get the error code "any content that does not fit into an area of fixed-width or - height causes the box will expand to fit the content rather than letting the overflow of content."

    Someone at - it suggestions?

    Help!

    It is not admissible.  It is not optimized to work well in anything other than a desktop display.  iPhones and iPads to use their built-in zoom function to make a regular site 'fit' in the display area that works well most of the time.  But this is not optimal.  The only way to make your site works well in all devices to be rebuilt with a Responsive Web Design approach.

  • Does not display the images and CSS does not work generated WebHelp

    Hi all

    I have two issues which I believe are related. It miss me probably a simple step somewhere, since I can't find this issue covered in the forum or help.

    We have just upgraded to RH7 to RH9. When I build a project to test, the CSS was fate not (it was connected properly in the topics of the project, but he was not released when the WebHelp has been generated). Trying to open the CSS file directly led to a 404 error.

    I was able to solve that by checking the "Apply to all" button and selecting the CSS file we use (see image). However, none of our lists - ordered and unordered - are properly formatted. The font and size of numbered lists is incorrect, lists all nested lists display with numbers, even if they are not ordained and autonomous bulleted lists use evenly filled as circles dig balls, where previously they used the small squares, circles, or a picture of triangle. The CSS is called correctly in the subject, lists are formatted to use the styles and the styles are in the style sheet, so I do not know what causes this problem. So far, I have not noticed any other styles does not, but those are the ones that stand out.

    WebHelp Settings (CSS).png

    The other problem is with the images. This problem appears in both our WebHelp generated and in the printed documentation. The images are not output. In WebHelp, the text appears (typically the name of the file). in the printed documentation, nothing appears. (I checked all the printed documents that "embedded" is selected, but as far as I know, there isn't a similar function for the WebHelp).

    What Miss me? Thanks in advance for any help!

    Source code control is involved?

    So you can see the CSS in the project manager and it works very well in the design editor but does not every time that you build for. Can you just build or generate and publish? You use Windows Explorer to check the CSS in both places?

    How do you get a 404 error? This happens when you click on a link where the target does not exist. Normally you would use Windows Explorer to locate the CSS.

    Lists are a known problem on upgrade from 7. See the lists on my site.

    The images show in the project manager?

    Hi John

    IE10 even if he plays "catch up" on some features he surpassed all other browsers when it comes to typography, see - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2012/01/09/css-corner-using-the-whole-font.aspx

    hix77-

    You could get the same effect by using a transformation matrix of IE in IE8 and below, (but I would not recommend this). The other possibility is to use a transform of IE9 with the content property property (this property css insert text in the document) that way when you hover over the image that 'extra' text is inserted. But this is not a gradual slide in as the property of transition is needed for this.

    The other alternative is to use slide-in jQuery plugin.

    (I'll cause a disagreement now, then you have been warned!) -

    IE8 is now on a decline in its use for private users, so if you're not targeting companies or professional users, don't worry about this browser too. Also IE introduced an automatic upgrade of the browser in its system of regular updates, (auto updates) users not on XP will have the most recent version of Internet Explorer installed for their system, (currently in Australasia, other regions in the fall of this year).

    XP will be IE8, (using xp down at approximately 2% per month, currently 34 percent of the total, (Microsofts digits not mine)) Vista will be IE9, Windows 7/8 will be IE10, but illegal copies of windows are not these or other updates.

  • CSS does not work for some reason any...

    Hello
    I use Dw MX and I use it back after having been there for a while. There are a couple of keys made here that may be important. First of all, I imported this site from Frontpage 2002 (it has been done initially in Frontpage 2003). Secondly, I am under Dw MX on Ubuntu Linux using CrossOver.

    So it is possible that this may be a problem of Linux, but it's a 50-50 as far as I know. In short, nothing that to do with CSS seems to work. I can't redefine a style Html - nothing appears. I tried to do and attach an external style sheet to get a picture in the background, and nothing is displayed. BTW, I do these especially for a model, but regular pages seem to have this problem as well.

    I can not even a background picture is displayed using the Page Properties.

    I am quite experienced with web programs; I did something like that for 6 years now. But here, I am puzzled, even if it is possible something in fair DW on me because it's been awhile. Also, I installed the MX 6.1 update.

    I appreciate any assistance.

    Thank you, Frank B.

    Murray, have you noticed:

    "First I imported this site.
    Frontpage 2002 (it has been done initially in Frontpage 2003). »

    It might be just stacking CSS rules at the top of the old rules of CSS, or even on top of
    HTML styles. It sounds like a code problem, not a problem of DW...

  • Text intersect on sensitive - my CSS does not work?

    Hello

    I'll put up a site in DW:

    https://Dev3.Orr.NOAA.gov/

    Note the sidebar, where it has a picture of the oil drilling platform.  I set up the text below it in a DIV called sidebar-news and then in the CSS, I added:

    < style >

    #news {}

    Width: 35%;

    float: left;

    padding: 0;

    }

    #map {}

    float: left;

    Width: 60%;

    padding: 0;

    left margin: 5%

    }

    @media screen and (max-width: 600px) {}

    #news {}

    float: none;

    Width: 100%;

    }

    #map {}

    float: none;

    Width: 100%;

    left margin: 0;

    }

    {#sidebar - news

    float: none;

    Width: 100%;

    left margin: 0;

    }

    < / style >

    The sidebar works fine on a desktop computer, but on a phone, the text is cut on the right margin, unlike the other text on the version of the phone, which looks great.  Can someone tell me why that text is cut off?  Snapshot of the version of the phone that shows the power of text is below.  I hope someone can help.  Thank you.

    custoff.jpg

    Just in case the other users of the forum where this post, I figured this out on my own and wanted to post the answer.  I changed the percentage of the width for a smaller amount and it worked:

    {#sidebar - news

    float: none;

    Width: 90%;

    }

  • Responsive CSS does not work / media question mobile devices

    Hello

    I am so that when a user views the site in a less than 979 pixels wide screen, some CSS is used.

    The application of media I use is:

    @media screen and (max-width: 979px) {}

    / * styles go here * /.

    }

    who works on my good browser, but not in iPhone/mobile devices (I have not checked in the ipad).

    I read somewhere that max-width: 979px means anything 979px or less...

    Although clearly a phone iphone would beless 979px, it's max-width is certainly not 979px.

    Should what media query I use here instead?

    Do I need to have a lot of different queries?

    Here is the live Webcam page: http://tinyurl.com/CSS3devicewidth

    Thanks for any help, that all the world can offer,

    Katrina

    (I read a lot of guides online but became very confused. I hope that there may be a single query that will address all screens less of 979px, whether they are desktop or mobile device... maybe that's not possible)

    Katrina, you have 99.99% correct.

    One important thing that you have missed out on adding to your HTML markup is a meta tag that tells the device to load the content to 1.0 (100%) depending on the size of his device.

    Add this to your HTML markup (insidesection):

    So, here!

    On a sidenote, you can put the CSS @media in a .css file and a link to the CSS file instead of load in line with your HTML file.

    Good luck

  • Float does not work? I need the text to the right of the image, but my CSS does not work. Pls help

    Hello

    I have some unusual difficulty get my images to float left/right in order to have text next to the image.  In the image I provided, the red arrow is where I'd like to be but little text whatever I put in the CSS file, the text starts at the lower right part of the left side of the image floated.  Can someone help me understand what is happening?  The code for the HTML code is located here http://codeviewer.org/view/code:1f51 the code for the CSS is here: http://codeviewer.org/view/code:1f52

    help.jpg

    I use the CSS code for a Web site I designed and that works very well in this Web site.  Why isn't it working here?  The name of the image is "fundraiser.jpg".

    Thanks for your help!

    Problem is caused by you not declaring the correct instructions for .float-left css class selector:

    Change this:

    {.float-left

    margin: 10px 5px 0 0;

    }

    To do this:

    {.float-left

    float: left;

    margin: 10px 5px 0 0;

    }

  • CSS does not work for the part of the Page

    http://www.inroadsracing.com/

    DW cs4

    The CSS of this site doesn't seem to work on the mission statement, which is supposed to be the size of 1em and a green.

    What escapes me, and how I can fix?

    Thank you.

    Just to add to the observation of Gary, the Misiion statement looks like this

    Our Mission is to promote the sport of cycling through Elite women to Juniors, especially of Junior women through a system of identification, exposure and education. We are a regional Elite women cycling team of category 1 and 2 women who will compete in the continental Northeast. We race in the pursuit of victory, for the development and make the awareness of cycling with the general public.

    I'll try to not rub it in but here are my notes

    1. It is Statementnot not a title of the Mission. The use of an element of H is not correct
    2. align = "left" should be replaced by a CSS rule
    3. It is truly amazing to see things. It makes me feel dizzy, but I think more about the silent browser that must interpret that.

    Now take a look at the following

    Our Mission is to promote the sport of cycling through Elite women to Juniors, especially of Junior women through a system of identification, exposure and education. We are a regional Elite women cycling team of category 1 and 2 women who will compete in the continental Northeast. We race in the pursuit of victory, for the development and make the awareness of cycling with the general public.

    You can now style cela on

    .service {}
    make-style: italic;
    padding: 2px;
    text-align: center;
    color: #060;
    do-size: 1em;
    make-weight: bold;
    }

  • Former CSS does not work in the new version of Dreamweaver

    I upgraded from Dreamweaver MX 2004 to the CS3 product. When I open one of my old pages in Design view, the page is not rendered correctly, even if it's just normal when I publish on the web. The aspx page uses the following style sheet: 3col_leftNav.css.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you
    DashRabbit

    I figured it thanks Murray * ACE *, which reminded me to experiment with a same style sheet and the new web page. It turns out that my reference to the style sheet has a backslash in it, rather than a forwardslash.

    Here's how it looked:

    href = "CSS\3col_leftNav.CSS"

    Here's how it should have been:

    href = "CSS/3col_leftNav.CSS"

    Either way works fine with Dreamweaver MX 2004. This is not the case with Dreaamweaver CS3.

    Thank you!

  • Why this UL CSS does not work as expected

    I try to add a picture as a bullet in a UL, but just appears on a start page, it will be in a standard HTML5 page.

    Here is the code in the start page:

    {.bluesquare}

    list-style - image: URL(images/bullet.png);

    }

    < side class = "col-lg-4 4-md-col col-sm-4 mtop" >

    < section class = "greypnl" >

    < ul class = "bluesquare" >

    < li > links side here < /li >

    < li > links side here < /li >

    < /ul >

    < / item >

    < / side >

    Here's the code in a HTML5 page:

    {.bluesquare}

    list-style - image: URL(images/bullet.png);

    }

    < side class = "col-lg-4 4-md-col col-sm-4 mtop" >

    < section class = "greypnl" >

    < ul class = "bluesquare" >

    < li > links side here < /li >

    < li > links side here < /li >

    < /ul >

    < / item >

    < / side >

    There is no difference between the two that I see, so preventing it from working?

    I can only get the image to appear as the point of the ball when I add an inline style to the AMT itself as follows: < ul class = "bluesquare" style = "list-style - image: url(images/bullet.png);" ">.

    No matter what control of image for the chip set could only inline code as follows: < style li = "background: url(images/bullet.png) non-repetition 0px 0px;" padding: 0 0 5px 30px; ">

    Any thoughts on what is predominant images of ball in a start page layout? I don't really want to encode each ball that will appear like this!

    Thank you.

    I just did a test using Bootstrap and everything worked as expected - hand coded. Nothing in the Bootstrap css file overides the ball style here.

  • Why my css does not work when I publish my Web site?

    When I published my site my css nor my photos appear what I am doing wrong?

    With the exception of a subfolder called contactus, nothing in the directory root. For the site of the service, you must have at least one file named index.html or similar in the root directory.

    Take a look at how you have defined the remote site in Site-> Manage Sites.

  • No idea why the css does not work

    Take a look at this sample page, Prayer Pond - "Interactive prayer Journal"

    I have several div style in the head, but the script seems to ignore them completely. :-/ I'm doing something wrong?

    Ah, I thought about it. Adblocking of it's firefox. He sees the word "ad" and disabled the divs. I renamed the divs and it works fine.

    Thanks for your help!
