Format memory stick

Hi, I leaned my memory stick to my friend and now it does not work on my computer, it says that I have to format it, when I clicked on it it said it would remove all my information, I have a school of work there, I need to get to asap! I don't understand all the technical vocabulary to do with computers, if there is a solution please please please could someone explain just what I need to do to solve! Thank you!

If you format, you will lose the data, as it is said. Take it back to your friend and see if he can get the data off and on another source then take home and backup.

  • Satellite R20 - Memory Stick PRO Duo problem

I looked and saw a lot of similar posts from users with a similar problem. Unfortunately, most of the answers suggested by looking at the user manual and taking note that the phone does not support the Memory Stick PRO Duo. Technically, that's true. However, many Sony cameras come with an adapter that turns the PRO Duo stick a Memory Stick PRO. These include very well in Flash Media Bridge adapter. The manual also indicates that the drive supports this stick.

What's weird, is that Windows Vista recognizes the insertion of the memory stick, but he then told me that I need to format it before so I can use it. I don't remember what I used the term, but there was a time eventually (with an older driver and/or the installation of XP?) when I could operate using a tip of reboot or something. No, however, I get boor. The stick (and its adapter) work very well. I can read it using another USB adapter. (Connected to my dell monitor 24 "... so not exactly a portable solution)

My laptop is the Satellite R20 Tablet and my OS is Vista Business

Thanks in advance for your help.

Duo cards have been gradually were they not? I'm sure that the Duo do not support Toshiba laptops. The only solution is a USB adapter, preferably a compact.

  • I will be visiting China and want to download movies to watch on the plane of Air China. I would like to download to a memory stick, so I can play the movies via my Kingston 5 in 1 for my Ipad.

I will be visiting China and want to download movies to watch on the plane of Air China. I would like to download to a memory stick, so I can play the movies via my Kingston 5 in 1 for my Ipad.

Chances are that will not work.

First of all, your movies will have DRM on them which prohibit generally just put the files anywhere. And, unfortunately, most of the USB drives do not work plugged into the iPad. Most triggers a warning 'unit wants too much power. and if they don't 'make the files on the disk must be formatted to imitate a card camera to mainly use the photos app to "fool" the iPad by seeing the files. (in a folder called DCIM and with file names exactly 8 characters)

If you are unable to get this to work, you can't watch off the stick (personally if you try I would try a SD card with the card camera adapter). You must import the file on the iPad and then watch it and delete it.

That works for homemade video files, however rented downloaded movies usually have digital rights management on them that ban you placed on a file or reading them.

There are devices like the Kingston WiDrive, which makes a localized wifi hotspot you connect your iPad to then disseminate content from there. However, it takes some experience since you can have the technology part down but may or may not be able to move the files. (I only download content from itunes so I can't say for sure if it works or not)

  • Satellite Pro A100-622 can not read the card SD and Memory Stick with Windows Explorer

I have a Satellite Pro A100-622 running MS Vista Home Basic Edition. I tried to use the card reader integrated with SD and Memory Stick card but cannot view the contents using Windows Explorer.

In both cases, the laptop recognizes the card and try to install new hardware. Unable to do so, he asks the drive of the software provided with the cards. Any software not provided with a card and I cannot find drivers to make the drive work.

The only application that I can find on the laptop that is associated with the player is a module of SD formatting, but I don't want to format the card (s) I want to just read the current content of them and add files.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

You can download the drivers (and especially in your case for the sd-card-reader) here:

    http://PC-support.Toshiba-Europe.com/Vista/

    and here

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

So the other point is the service of the SD card must be enabled in the start menu-> Control Panel (change to Classic view)-> Administration-> Services-> Chip card (at this point, you must activate the service and configure it to start at windows startup).

If you have any other questions, just ask. ;)

    Hello

System Restore tool is a good toy for the restoration of the BONE to this early time.
But you can also try to remove the USB ports on the Device Manager.
Then after restarting again the operating system should recognize the USB ports again.
Then you can try to plug in the USB key and check if it works.

  • Card Memory Stick from Sony USB2.0 and Qosmio nine reader

    Hello
I had a problem with the multicard reader in my Qosmio F10. I have a digital camera of Sony that uses a MemoryStick PRO Duo. The F10 does not have the MemoryStick PRO-Duo without the Sony adapter because the Duo card is smaller than the standard Memory Stick.
The F10 acknowledges that the Sony Memory Stick has been inserted and a little image of the stick appears as a new drive, everything ok. However when I try to open the drive, the F10 said that the MemoryStick PRO Duo is not formatted and asks me if I want to reformat the drive.
I am sure that this is not a problem with my Memory Stick Pro-Duo because it is formatted by my camera and contains pictures. I have done the above on my friends Toshiba Satellite and it works fine. I also experiemented with another Memory Stick Pro - Duo and I have the same problem with the F10 once again, there is no problem when I use it in all other devices (other than my F10).
I'm concerned that there is a problem with my card reader. You have any suggestions on how can I fix?
    Thank you very much. J.

    Hello
    I have Toshiba A200 - 1 M 4
When I insert the Memory Stick Duo Pro (with the help of the Memory Stick Duo adapter), I get this error message from Windows Vista:
{color: #ff0000} * you must format the disk into G: drive before you can use it.*
    * You want to format? * {color}

I put the same card in an another (NOT of Toshiba laptop) and it could read as well.
And I do not have problems in playback of SD, but just Memory Stick Pro Duo memory cards.
    So what's the problem?
    Please help me

    Hello

I think that it always useful to take a look in the user manual for additional information on the laptop. :)

The said Memory Stick user manual * PRO Duo * and Memory Stick * Duo cards or adapters are not compatible with the Satellite A200 series multiple digital media card slot!

So you will not be able to use this card.
You'll need to switch to a card that is picked up and compatible with the multiple digital media card slot.

  • Satellite P100: Memory Stick Duo Pro with MSD adapter is not recognized

When I insert the CSDP in my Satellite P100-473-multi card reader - Vista preinstalled - (using an adapter MSD), the removable media is listed in the Solution Explorer, but the card cannot be read.
With a 32 MB card, he pointed out that the card needs to be formatted first... but correct data are inside and must be visible.
With 1 GB card, it reports that card is first inserted...

    Did anyone experienced this problem?

    Hello

Have you checked the user manual you?
Take a look at Chapter 8!
There is information that the card reader is supported only SD; MMC; MS; Cards MS Pro and xD.

As you can see that it supports the Memory Stick Pro, but not the Memory Stick Pro DUO!

  • Satellite P300 - how to insert a memory stick?

Sorry my bad English, but I need help with my 5 in 1 card reader.

In the manual of my Satellite P300 stand that I use:
SD, SDHC, MMC, MEMORY STICK (PRO) cards and xD.

I think, means 5 in 1 - is 1 slot for the whole of this map. is it wrong? My laptop have 1 location for these cards.

I have no problem to insert an SD card in, but a MEMORY STICK card is a smaller format.
Is there a special adapter? What do I insert the MEMORY STICK in this machine slot?

    THX

    Hello!

Yes, 5 to 1 means that, in this card reader, you can use these 5 different memory cards.

I n t have a memory stick but normally it of pretty easy to insert. In my opinion, not useful to insert the card in the middle of the slot. But be careful and do not force.
    Check it!

Furthermore, memory stick duo/Pro duo are not compatible. Make sure that normal memory.
