Fractions on keyboard Toshiba

Can someone tell me where to find fractions on my Toshiba laptop, please?

Start-> Run, and then type "charmap.exe".

Or start-> programs-> Accessories-> system-> Character Map tools

This will give you a way to see all the extended characters to select and paste into your documents.

Some applications with contain keyboard shortcuts or AutoCorrect feature so that you can type "1/2" and get the fraction is displayed correctly.

Some keyboards allow you to enter fractions using a Fn button (but depends on the laptop)

  • How to use the software keyboard Toshiba 50L9450VE TV?

I just bought a LED TV model 50L9450VE. When installing, I need to enter the password for the wifi network. The remote doesn't have a keyboard of the letter, and the TV shows a soft keyboard to enter the password. How to use the software keyboard? I can't figure out how to get the cursor in it; the manual does not say, and I can't find the information online. Thank you.

  • Shortcut keyboard Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 - properties will not end

    Dear lovers of Toshiba:

This week, we have installed three new systems of Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 (two L300-153, a L300-156) with recovery media for Windows XP since the L300-156 product (no date on the disc, only two codes: CD 5 124624 and GMR400841EN0).

The machines are beautiful and very effective, except for one problem: when the logout or shutdown Windows XP, the program called 'The Toshiba keyboard shortcut properties' does not stop automatically and opens a dialog "end program". The user may terminate the program immediately by clicking on the button 'End now' or wait until it to expire, after which the system disconnects or terminate normally.

We noticed only after the installation of Service Pack 3 on all machines, so I don't know if the problem was present before SP3 has been applied. (We will be definitely check this on the following system and display the result.) Install the rest updates Windows with Service Pack 3 does not resolve the problem. Not more then that uninstall Toshiba Hotkey Utility by installing the package current, freshly downloaded from the Toshiba support area.

A colleague suggested disabling startup programs. There are two likely choices for this purpose in the startup list + of + msconfig +: * thotkey * and * TFncKy *. Disabling either of these programs allows the disappearance of problem, but the functions of the * Fn keys are lost. The key functions are also lost when uninstalling the Toshiba Hotkey Utility.

My question is of two parts:
    # Comment this problem be solved permanently, or circumvented (other than to say the customer never disconnect & close always the cover to hibernate)?
    # If there is no solution yet, how can a bug report situate with Toshiba, so I can get them the information they need to solve this problem and establish the responsibility?
I will continue to post new information here that I acquire until a permanent solution is reached.

Although this problem seems trivial and 'cosmetic' it's always awkward having to provide new machines customers with such an obvious flaw. It ourselves and Toshiba look bad, especially after that we sold the idea that people avoid problems of this kind to choose a Windows XP on Vista platform.

    Thank you, Robert Phair
    Director.

    > when the logout or shutdown Windows XP, the program called 'The Toshiba keyboard shortcut properties' does not stop automatically and opens a dialog "end program"...
    > We noticed only after the installation of Service Pack 3 on all machines, so I don't know if the problem was present before SP3 has been applied

Problems could be caused by Win XP SP3. I've read several times that SP3 could be not entirely compatible with drivers or 3rd tools
So I guess there is a problem of compatibility between the exe and SP3 files.
By the way; SP3 is not completely released and updated test!

I installed SP3 for some tests on my old non-Toshiba laptop and my work LAN card didn't so it of really possible that SP3 causes this.

    > There are two likely choices for this in the msconfig startup list: thotkey and TFncKy. Disabling either of these programs, the disappearance of the problem, but the functions of the Fn keys are lost

It is clear that the thotkey and TFncKy files belong to applications that control the FN keys, SO if you would disable this in msconfig then buttons would not work.

So, a solution might be a removal of SP3 System.
In addition, you should try to clean the registry and operating system using the free tool like CCleaner.

    > Hope to get a response from an engineer from Toshiba, if there is no monitoring of this forum.
I hope this too, but it seems that this forum is only a user forum.
So if you want to report this behavior for laptop, contact the Toshiba ASP in your country

    See you soon

  • How to replace the keyboard on a Toshiba laptop? SOLUTION

If your Toshiba laptop keyboard does not work as it should?

If your keyboard problem comes from a spillage, a hard lump, or you simply worn, you don't have to worry about investing in a new laptop, you can solve your keyboard with a simple Exchange. The good news is that setting a keyboard does not have a lot of technical skill. In fact, keyboards are among the mobile more easy to repair.

Remove the frame just above the keyboard. You will notice a Tin strip of plastic located just above the keyboard. This band is called the keyboard bezel and you remove by gently lifting the edge upward with your small standard screwdriver. Work your way through the bezel lifting as you go. The bezel is that a nod to the unit, so remember to be gentle, as you work your way through.

Remove the screws from the laptop keyboard Toshiba G83C000872. When the frame is removed, you will find three or four screws at the top of the keyboard. Using your small Philips screwdriver, remove these screws and place them in a safe place where you will not lose them.

Remove the keyboard. With the screws removed, gently lift the keyboard from the top down. You will notice a sliver of wire from the keyboard to the laptop. Lean toward the front of the keyboard so that you can access the ribbon cable connection.

Remove the Ribbon wire. Take your standard screwdriver and gently push up the support locks, on both sides of the ribbon cable socket. These support slide locks up slightly as you push to release the wire.

Connect the keyboard to replacement. Everything as you have removed the old keyboard, you will now push the replacement wire Ribbon in Ribbon decision-making. With a small screwdriver, push the brackets in place to fix the Ribbon.

Screw the replacement keyboard. Using a screw, connect the keyboard. With the keyboard which is held in place by the screw, start the computer and test the replacement keyboard. Once tested, replace the remaining screws.

Insert the bezel above the keyboard. With the keyboards now set by all the screws, place the bezel back on its opening and put it back. Start at one end and work your way through.

    Thanks for teaching.

  • How to turn off the Toshiba Hotkeys properties?

How to turn off the Toshiba Hotkey properties so that I can install Microsoft Money? I get a message telling me that the installation cannot continue because the properties of the shortcut keyboard Toshiba is running, but I don't know how to turn it off, or when it is!

    Hi coxrhu,

the fastest way to stop hot keys is to remove the Hotkey Services in the Windows startup process.

Launch msconfig, look at "Startup" and search for "00Thotkey" and "000StTHK".
This programs are normally responsible for the service.

    Hope this helps

  • Qosmio Dx730 - indication of virtual keyboard problem

    I have a Toshiba Qosmio Dx730.
I'm not using the supplied wireless keyboard, but a D + he's wired keyboard standard I prefer the keyboard layout.

However, the indicator of keyboard to the virtual keyboard is faulty and appears in the lower left of the screen randomly (no matter whether if I hit caps lock shift or not).

It has now begun to randomly toggle Caps Lock on and out, without apparent reason.

Can I turn off the indicator of keyboard somehow?
I never use the virtual keyboard, then I would be happy to be in the off position as well.

    Thanks for any help!
    Lyn

    Hello

The indicator of virtual keyboard (icons) in the lower right corner of the screen appears because the supplied wireless keyboard does not support indicators SHIFT CAPS LOCK, Numlock and SCROLLLOCK. This is why virtual indicators seems displays the status of the mentioned buttons.

You can activate the icons ON / OFF by clicking the keyboard Toshiba indicator in the notification area in the taskbar.

  • Re: Satellite P750-103 very hard to type on this keyboard

    Hello

I bought a P750-103 two days and I find very difficult to type on this keyboard.

When I press the keys on the corners, sides, or even a bit far from the center of the button, it does not work.
I tried keyboard Toshiba R840, resembling the P750 and I can tap on anywhere in the keys and it works.

Another person who has bought the same laptop I encounter the same problem as well.
Is there a reason for this behavior? Is this normal?

I get used to or get another laptop instead of this one? I have 15 days to decide if I'll keep the P750 or get a new one.

    Best regards
    Manuel Felicio.

    Hello

Are you sure that you have pressed the buttons at the end? Have you noticed the contact button?
I don't know Mr. what could cause this; Maybe this problem of s keyboard.
Maybe you could test an other P750 in the shop
Another option could be ASP from Toshiba. You could contact the guy in your country and may request verification of keyboard

    Hello

I think the keyboard could be compatible, but I doubt the battery designed for Sat A110 would be compatible with the model A100.

As far as I know the Satellite A100 supports the 9 cell, 6000mAh
    PA3478U-1BRS or 12 PA3400U-1BRS battery and the A110 supports PA3457U-1BRS Battery Pack Li-ion (4300mAh, 8 cells)
