• Cannot download Framemaker trial

  I am trying to download the trial of Framemaker. I tried with and without the Adobe DLM. With the DLM, the download start ever (which is 0%). Without the DLM, by clicking on the links of two download does not cause in everything that happens. For reference, here are the two download links given:

  Turns, the error was somehow related to my work (Blue Coat Unified Agent) proxy agent. Deactivation of this agent led will begin to download.

I downloaded the version of Framemaker 2015 XML Author, and I can't locate some things like bullet and creation point font size changes to build the type of document that I want to do.  I think I should have downloaded Framemaker (informal version). I went to uninstall and reinstall, but that has not worked.  I was surprised.  How can I switch to Framemaker - version unstructured, please?  Thank you

  Uninstall and reinstall will not help, XML Author comes with a limited set of features. You will need to download Framemaker 2015 to achieve the functionality you're looking for.

• Import fonts in FrameMaker

  We have problems with the fonts that are not available in FrameMaker, although we have them installed in the Windows fonts folder.

  You don't need to "import" fonts in FrameMaker. FrameMaker can access the fonts in the windows fonts folder.

  Did you reboot FrameMaker after installing fonts?

  Fonts appear in other windows as Microsoft Word software?

  What type of font is (e.g., TrueType, OpenType, Type1)?. Are the fonts somehow 'special '? Are they standard fonts to a font library or a special font (self-created)?

  In addition, you can check the name of the font. The font name specified in the police could be a completely different than the name of the font file. In addition, some fonts appear "elsewhere" in the menu font. As we say that Helvetica Neue may seem not under H but maybe under L as "Linotype Helvetica Neue" (or other, for example).

  Furthermore, any kind of additional information such as the version of Windows and FrameMaker version could be useful as well.

• Updates to FrameMaker 2015

  FrameMaker 2015 has now 4 updates. Do need to be laboriously installed one by one, from the oldest to the newest, or can I just install update number 4?

• Cross-references in the output PDF from Framemaker: how to center the Pages?

  I think I understand quite well the functioning of cross-references in Framemaker, but one thing that bothers me, it's how, when you generate a PDF from Framemaker file and clicking on a reference, the resulting page view locates the cross at the top of a page reference marker.

  It's very annoying and confusing when, say, referring to a figure of legend that appears at the bottom of a page. Page display that results when such a reference in a PDF document after Center the text of the _following_ page, with the text of the legend of the barely visible figure at the top of the page.

  My question: is it possible to build cross references that show the page, when you click in a PDF document, is centered on the page that displays the cross-reference material?

  Not AFAIK in FrameMaker.

  But in Acrobat, set the initial view one Page instead of continuous.

  File > properties > Initial View.

  

  Two upward (direction) and two up (cover Page) would also work.

  You see these numbers when you have the view > text option enabled symbols, but otherwise the required action (tab or soft return forced) happens?

  If so, then it could be that the fm5font.ttf in your \fminint file is missing or damaged.

  Our company is spending the structured Word to FrameMaker 2015. I need to understand the process and the costs associated with hiring a company to install FrameMaker 2015 and convert 250 Word in 2015 of FrameMaker documents. I'm new to FrameMaker and I know that I'm not aware of what the process is, what precautions should I take, I should be informed to make the transition as easy as possible, information and how to assess the costs. I tried a number of Web sites, but can't seem to find a basic guide to hiring another company set up FrameMaker 2015. Any ideas on the resources that I could use?

  This is no a trivial task, your workflow can change a lot.

  There is a lot of companies out there that do exactly what you ask. If you are D-A-CH, I salute a few guys for you, that perfectly match your needs.

  Question is always: how much time and money you want to throw at it. If your company does not have to spend a lot of money, they need to spend a lot of time (Yes we know, it is also - money but good, it is an internal resource). You can perfectly acquire all the necessary knowledge for yourself and do the work without outside help. But it takes time - a lot.

  If you go this route (and you should be at a certain point), everyone here will gladly help you.

  But from scratch with no sample and no knowledge base is quite hard and painful.

  My personal opinion is that you should have a working process, proper training and start and then to dive more deeply into the case.

  This will allow you to save a lot of expense, time and frustration later.

  They asked me if I can help the training structured FrameMaker XML, but read the Adobe site and came short.

  In my view, that the ask is for rules creation, EDD, model and around XML using FM 15 trigger. It is more that I can do it comfortably, but feels like a 4 day course of someone who has the process down.

  USA/Canada is the hangout on the Web in the classroom.

• No set of FrameMaker or Robohelp 2015

  Hello

  I'm subscribed to FrameMaker and RoboHelp today received the confirmation e-mail and the load went on my card more than 3 hours ago. I managed to download but there is no associated serial number. There is a column for them in the download window, but it is empty. What do I have to wait for Adobe to get back to work on Monday?

  The other thing I thought was that there is no need for a serial number, but on the installation it ask certainly one.

• FrameMaker 12: Book files do not open within the application

  When I perform the following functions, open files as separate files instead of opening in the application itself.

  (1) open the FrameMaker book.

  (2), select all the files listed in the book

  (3) right click and select Open

  Files, but opened instead of appear correctly in the Document tab (), they open as individual files. When I hover over the application in my taskbar to office, there are several open documents.

  Why is this happening? How can I fix?

• Using Framemaker, 2015, when editing, changes are NOT saved even after registration, including when you import new graphics.  Save, and then reopen the document and the old graphics are here and sometimes even old text.  Is this a known bug?

  Steps to reproduce:

  1. open a document in FrameMaker 2015

  2. change the document

  3 save the document

  4 open new document.

  5. unsaved changes.

  Embarrassing especially when doing the import images, old we remains same after the new update.

  Work in progress about-

  change the document twice and then save. The backup file would be the problem? Frame creates several tables backupfile and so the backup must be updated before the primary?

• FrameMaker 2015 is no longer generate tables of contents (TOC)

  All of a sudden, some people in our team cannot generate tables of contents in FrameMaker 2015, while others may still. We could all generate TOCs without problem until this week (at least, this week is when we noticed the problem). Are there known issues with the 3.1 update that was released in April (I think)?

  When we select Add > > create Standalone TOC, FrameMaker creates a TOC file and adds it to the book, but the file is completely empty. When we try to update the TOC file, nothing happens. When we try to create/update fakes with other books and models, same thing.

  Other people are able to create/update TOCs with these same files. We have not been able to determine what is the difference which is causing the problem.

  Those of us with the problem all seem to have 2015 FrameMaker version 13.0.3.495 installed. But at least a person who has the same version of hotfix can create/update TOCs. (We are all on Windows 7, 64-bit).

  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

  We have introduced an OCD related bug in update Fm 13.0.3 where in unstructured books OCD is not generated in structured mode.

  As a solution, he is requested to work in unstructured for unstructured books Mode:

  1. edit > Preferences > Interface product > select FrameMaker > restart FM

  2. open the book > Update > should work

  We work for a quick update for the same thing.

  You can open hidden with the FDK or ExtendScript, something like:

  You can also make a document currently open hidden:
