  I have currently about 150 pages fm submits, that were originally unstructured, but I managed to make a structure of work for her. There are mainly paintings, which have references, images, graphics, tables and internal stuff, so all normal technical document. Reason I'm structuring it and what about XML is that we have another file XML where we will add data in this document, and currently, it is done by hand and we want to do it my machine. These things are done by the magic of programmers who can better c-related speaking in tongues English.

  I can make the XML of this fine, so that the XML that is created is valid and structure looks like, it is very well copied as XML. Graphics, images and internal tables are currently inside anchored like graphics frames, since they were something similar in the informal document and read/write rules that transform images EPS, because internal tables do not work like SVG, I prefer otherwise, because it is also the XML and anchored frames have some links referring to other parts of the document. SVG would be also easier to manage in programming (or so I think) as the EPS. If anyone can think of the best way to do this, I'm open to suggestions.

  Question now is when I opened this created XML in FrameMaker, it loads first half-hour (computer is Intel T2500 2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, computer laptop XP Pro SP3 and FM is version 10), then displays the 9 error pages records concerning 'framemaker cannot insert table (cell) at the current position cell' and then document appears as 600 to 1000 pages 'masterpiece' where 150 pages seems normal but after this first page If displays of new and tables is presented as a column in the page. It was suggested that if the file is created by FrameMaker, FrameMaker it would open normally, but apparently this is not the case.

  There are some things that might look odd for some people. There are a few conditional text in FM submit and without rules as

  XML is not valid against the DTD.

  I'd appreciate any help. I can also provide other files here, but due to NDA reasons, real document is no-go, but I think that if the structure is needed to see, the DTD is very good.

  As you probably know both, it is perfectly acceptable to have multiple rules read/write for a type of item. In this case, the rules include:

  'Cell' is fm "CELL" table cell element

  The first pair of rules said FrameMaker when it creates XML, FrameMaker and PLACE items that both are output as an XML line items. The second pair of rules said the items FrameMaker and CELL are saved as XML as cell.

  When there are several relevant mappings, FrameMaker uses the first to appear in the rules of r/w. When is the reading of XML documents by using these rules, he could map a line XML line or LINE item and a cell to cell or CELL. Since mixed case of these two rules version appears before the version all uppercase, when reading XML, FrameMaker elements with the same name as the XML namespace it creates.

  Your FrameMaker EDD has both row and LINE (cell and CELL)? If this isn't the case, you can remove rules for the types of items you don't use.

  Insofar as the error messages and the wrong document when you open XML, Ian is quite correct that FrameMaker needs to know the number of columns there are in the table. If your DTD does not yet of this attribute, the simplest solution is to add a. It is possible using a plug-in or script to create columns as needed, but it's a lot more effort.

  I have a problem with an attribute not be exported in XML format by FM8.

  Here is the excerpt of the DTD:

  The first question I had was "collar" does not present as an attribute in the structured view. I solved it in question (with the help of MarttiP) by adding it to the EDD as shown below:

  General rule: std.table.row +.
  List of attributes
  Name: whole passes required

  Now I'll have is on the export of XML, the "collar" attribute is not exported and I get an error "required attribute"cols"unplanned". Any suggestions?

  Add this rule to write:

  "collar" attribute is the attribute of fm;
  }

  This replaces the built-in handling for the cols attribute without affecting the CALS tables.

  I'm practsing Train updated the OAF tutorial that comes with the Patch of the EBS R12.1.3 OPS.

  After you have created the 3 pages, I created a page EmpTrainRN.xml (train style) with 3 TrainSteps of type link. I have no problem in visiting all 3 pages by clicking the bullets next to each step.

  

  I also have EmpTrainFooterRN.xml (style pageButtonBar) with a navigationBar including = 1 step and the last step = 3. (The Destination URI has been set correctly).

  After the launch of the first page, I am able to visit the second page by selecting the next button. But when I click the button following once again, the same 2 page is being updated - rather than page 3 launched. This is not the expected behavior.

  However when I put the code below in the processRequest controller (for EmpTrainFooterRN), I am able to move on to page 3 using the next button.

  I found the problem and the solution.

  Your destination in the navigation links are wrong.

  First, they must begin by "OA.jsp? page =".

  Second, they must correspond with the destination links in the area of train.

  This is how the framework includes the relationship between the bar of navigation and train.

• Structured FrameMaker crashes on Windows 10 x 64

  I have a clean windows 10 x 64 (Chinese edition) installed and I downloaded the trial version Framemaker 2015 on the Adobe site.

  When I start the application, a window opens, asking me to select Framemaker, structured Framemaker or Framemaker XML Author.

  If I chose Framemaker, everything looks ok, except that I can't import graphs. It is said that the filter will not and the translation may not be completed.

  If I choose the other two, the main window will show, but before the start page (I mean the page where you can see "Recent items", "Restore the Sessions", etc.) Watch, an internal error window appears with the code 13014, 15811732, 15812026, 18936253, saying that he must quit Framemaker.

  I tried to run it in Administrator previledge-compatible mode, but have no luck.

  FrameMaker needs .NET 4 for mode of XML. It seems that some of the .NET 4 components are properly installed on your machine.

  You can fix this problem either by

  (1) application windows updates

  (2) .NET repair facility.

  To confirm that this problem is the same, please follow the steps below: -.

  (1) go to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker2015

  (2) open maker.ini

  (3) the following entry view XML comment = plugin, structured, xml view, FMXmlView.dll, PL_SwitchToXmlView

  (4) save maker.ini

  (5) start FrameMaker

• Can I import data from a database in a FrameMaker using ExtendScript document?

  I want to import the part of database information in a structured document in FrameMaker (XML). The document would be an illustrated parts catalog, built by merging the text in the document structured with Bill of material stored in a database and graphic files. ExtendScript for this, or do I have to study a different language for this programmatic approach to the construction of a document?

  There is no direct way to connect to a database with FrameMaker ExtendScript. It is possible to write code C++ to interact with scripts, so you could write some kind of connector in C++ that would work with ExtendScript. ExtendScript can work with XML files, then another solution is to export the data from the database in XML format and ExtendScript allows you to analyze and import it into FrameMaker.

  I'd take a serious look at FrameScript. FrameScript has built-in ODBC support, you can connect directly to your database and use SQL queries to get your data into FrameMaker. There also ActiveX is supported, so you can use ADODB technology to get data from your database. I did the import of the database in a bunch of my scripts over the years.   No of versions of FrameMaker Arab (or right to left languages) is supported. Although it is possible to place a string Arab (or Hebrew) in a document FrameMaker, use of other tools is required for any serious work.

  In the Maker.ini file (in the FrameMaker installation folder).
  you will find the following parameter
  TemplateBrowserDoc = fminit\maker\tmpltbrw
  in the [Files] section

  tmpltbrw is the FrameMaker file that is used to default Model Explorer.
  It is normally open as a palette (when using file > New > Explorer Standard)
  Models), with interactive buttons.

  FM6: To open FrameMaker format, you must first copy it into one
  another folder, which is not under the FrameMaker file.

  FM7: this file has been locked in a way that prevents open the document and edit. You can still use the FM6 file or you can create your own file, so that you have a complete set of your choice (some may prefer this route, regardless of the difficulty of opening the FM7 version); You can always open the standard browser via file > open (or by an entry of custom menu added to the title of the help, for example.

  Once you open the tmpltbrw file in FrameMaker, you will see that this is a document "view only". Use escape F l k (to separate the keystrokes is lowercase L after the F) to toggle the view only turn off/on.

  When the document is in "standard" editable mode, use the > body/master of text symbols to see the locations of the hypertext markers and also to inspect pages.

  The buttons create and show example open different versions of the specific model, without the text, the other with some Latin text, for example:

  You can specify a path + filename directly or use the variables path as defined in the file maker.ini under [directories]

  Other markers you will see in the standard browser are newlink/gotolink markers (they activate the categories in the left navigation bar and are placed on the master page so that they are defined once and active in all the pages of body). The 'Done' button use the markers Hypertext "quit" (close the document).

  Add pages, markers, graphic and descriptive text as needed, pointing to your company FrameMaker templates. If you do not have or need two separate versions (with or without text), a unique marker "opennew" will be required for each model (pointing to the corresponding FrameMaker file).

  Before "locking" the document again, clear borders and text symbols.

  Place the file in the standard location with its standard name (move the first original in a backup folder). You can also change the entry pointing to this file make.ini (effective after you restart FrameMaker; recommended: local folders or network locations that are always available).

• Unhappy controlled without hyphen

  In a table of keywords related to the software, key words are sometimes long to fit in a single line, for example "QuiteLenghtySampleKeyword" would be cut off like this:

  If I add the suppress hyphenation character \x05, the maximum number of characters is required in the first line, and the word is cut without hyphen:

  Is it possible to control hyphenation in how a keyword breaks without hyphen (as in example 2) but to a specified position? I can't really use a forced return, because it appears as an extra space in references to this keyword.

  Try adding a space of "zero-width"; better implementation by a variable.

  First define a format of characters (for example zMinWidth, where everything is "such what ', except size = 2pt, spread = - 5%, Stretch = 10%), then define a variable that doesn't have this format of characters followed by a space regular. Insert the variable it where you want to allow line breaks without hyphens.

  I used a variant of this with a slash followed by the zero / near-zero in the documents in the workspace where the forward slash can be welcomed as a line break on a general basis (of the sort that "I/o" does not break between the lines, but ' installation/configuration' breaks to slash, as appropriate).

• Newbie on the insertion of hypertext links question

  Hello:

  I'm having some trouble finding how to insert a hyperlink in my document. I would like to insert a link in my document that, when clicked, opens a new Web browser at the specified URL. I read the online help and thought that I had inserted the text correct marker but I don't get the results I wanted.

  I have inserted the marker of Hypertext "Message URL" and the URL address. I have a link but nothing happens when I click it. I missed or done wrong? It is even possible to do?

  PS: I use v8.0P277 on Windows XP. The document will be available to customers in PDF format (I have create using print to PDF).

  Make sure you have a full web address starting with http:// (or https://, ftp: / /, mailto :))

• ugly pdf

  For some reason any when I do a .pdf of my Framemaker 9 document, some stuff doesn't come out right.  For example, any place where I used an Arial Narrow font, it looks like Times New Roman in the pdf file.  If I use the Arial font, it looks good in the pdf, but in order to get the effect of the Arial Narrow in the pdf, I use Arial with the stretch value 90% in my framework document.

  And also, some colors do not look very good in the pdf.  In the framework document, they look like I want it to do, but when I do the pdf, they find themselves looking for a little muddier.

  What's up with that?

  When using FM9 and save to PDF, make sure that 'Convert CMYK colors to RGB' is turned on. If this check box is disabled, various problems may be encountered, including issues related to fonts.

  [If this solves your problem of fonts and the colors aren't always what you expect them to be, there is a setting in the maker.ini which can help]

• Error to distill PDF

  I tried helping my colleague to solve the error Distiller in vain for the day of class below.  When you print a PDF with tags and bookmarks, the pdf file gives an error in Notepad and the pdf fails to print.  I searched forums and have found other people with similar problems, but no answer on how to solve this problem.

  The really weird part is that I can print out the pdf very well from my computer, but my colleague may not print the same book file in PDF without the error.  I would just print the file for it, but there are several other similar to print, and they all produce the same error at the same place.

  I guess there must be some setting that is different on my computer, even if I can't find that whatever it is the different value in FrameMaker.

  If anyone has any suggestions, or knows how to solve, would be great!

  According to Sheila, this specific problem has been experienced with the initial version of FrameMaker 8.0 (FM8.0p236) and the FM8.0p266 fixed.

  To apply the hotfix, select help > updates in FrameMaker. Latest version of FrameMaker 8.0 is FM8.0p277.

• Graphic export entity

  I got my running FrameMaker XML application and millions and millions of lines of data export successfully.  I was SO excited to be able to do it completely on my own (and with many of you!)

  We transferred the data from our provider that creates a search engine for us but they have ran across a problem that they (as the non-FrameMaker users) and me (not really a person of "XML") cannot understand.  I will stick below what they say, this is the case, compared to what should be happening and see if yall can help you?  I hope this is easy since we receive a serious delay.  Their email to me:

  The problem is that FrameMaker's naming of the graphical entity for export charts, but is not extinguishing associated entities that complement the card.

  Note that the "BOLD" red stuff are the assigned logical name for the chart frame.  The real-world entities are usually out with the document, and features describe the format and the location of the graphics.  An example is preparing be similar to:

  Without the bodies, we do not know what the actual graphic file is mentioned in the xml document.

  Anyone knows what is the cause?  Maybe something I declare in the application or read/write rules?

  I do not normally export in XML format, but I played around with it to see what it is. In my read/write rules, I have the following:

  element {"Graphic"
  is the graphic element of fm;
  attribute 'file' is the property of fm file;
  }

  This indicates to FrameMaker graphic element file attribute must contain the properties of FrameMaker file, which is the location of the graphics file. On the XML output, it produces something like the following:
