  Hi Jeff! Yes, I filed a bug report and heard back that Adobe is addressing the issue. I also spoke with a representative who has found a workaround.

  That being said, here's the info you requested:

  RoboHelp crashes every time when I click the hyperlink icon in the Ribbon and then paste it into the link box to a URL (for example, https://support.company.com/knowledgebase.php?article=110). The workaround is to select The Web address in link in the drop-down menu before pasting the URL (replacing the "https" which appears when you select Web address).

  I am satisfied with workaround, but will be even happier when Adobe fixes the error that causes the crash!

  Is no longer, I can use a "hyperlink" to send an email via my Hotmail account... I downloaded IE8 this past weekend, and he threw all my settings. I have gone through and set IE to use "Hotmail" as my e-mail program... but he continues to revert to the default value "Outlook 07" and invites me to download the package "Connector"... I did, including the 'new' one...» It still I cannot send emails...

  1. This is a Community Forum. I'm sorry that you have only had the opportunity to deal with the moderators of Microsoft instead of some very talented people who frequent this forum and help others with questions.

  2. Windows Mail is the replacement for Outlook Express, so it works the same way. On the flip side, it also has some of the same restrictions under Outlook Express. Live Mail is a little more and, of course, the flagship that outlook does, well, darn near everything.

  3. Finally, to get your operational Outlook please go to the forum of the Office. They are the experts in this area. Here is the link.

• Mail (version 9.3) frequently freezes, requires a reboot.

  Mail under El Capitan (10.11.6) freezes frequently. Rebuild my Inbox, sent messages, Junk, etc was not rectified the problem. Seems arbitrary? Anyone else having this problem? All possible solutions to this?

  Make a backup, preferably 2 on 2 separate drives.

  Exit the Mail.

  Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail.  Move the folder com.apple.mail on your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the content.

  Reboot, re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, recreate the required e-mail settings and import emails you want to save to the folder on the desktop. You can then put the file in the trash. If the problem persists, return the folder where you have guessed replacing one that is there.

  If he does not repeat the above using Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent.

• iPhone 5 freezing frequently under iOS10

  We have an iPhone 5 that freezes frequently, in particular with the application of messages, under iOS10.  It is not happened under previous versions of iOS.  Is this something specific to the iPhone 5?

  I had a problem with Safari in iOS 10 always ask permission to use my position whenever I do a google search. The search for a solution to this problem here in the support forums led to my safari of compensation of all historical data and web site.  This seems to have solved the problem of google, but now do frequently visited sites present when I click on the address bar, even if they are enabled in the settings.  I know that it can take a while for the browser to determine what the a frequently visited sites are, but that's now more than three weeks of daily browsing and they do not always show.  Any ideas?

  Hello. I guess you are not private browsing (black bar at the top). That would disable all memory.

• Watch frequently is disconnected

  Since the upgrade to iOS 10 (iPhone 6) and watch OS 3 (first generation shows) my watch is constantly becoming disconnected from the phone. This is a quick fix (I just turn off and turn on the Bluetooth on the phone and it is fixed). But it's boring. I go through it a dozen times a day. And it never happened for the whole year I had the watch until I upgraded. Patches? Thoughts? Suggestions? I have not matched the watch and re-paired, but it is still frequently disconnect.

  Thank you for reaching out by Apple Support communities. From your post, I understand that since the update to iOS 10 on your iPhone 6 and watch OS 3 on your Apple Watch, you had some difficulties to keep connected. I know how it is important for the two devices to work together and want to make sure they stay connected!

  I see that you have tried to disable the pairing and repair the iPhone and Apple Watch, but the problem persists. It was a big step to try! Since it did not help, I have a few other things I can say to you.

  First, if you haven't already done so, restart the iPhone matched following the steps described here: restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

  After rebooting the iPhone, test how well your Apple Watch remains connected.

  If you're still having problems with connectivity, désapparier your Apple Watch from your iPhone by following the steps detailed here: pairing your Apple Watch and iPhone

  Reset the network settings on your iPhone under settings > general > reset > reset network settings. This will remove not your personal information (contacts, photos, calendar of events, etc.), but it will remove networks WiFi recorded and passwords, as well as all the APN or previously used VPN settings and Bluetooth devices connected.

  After the reset, pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone again and test the connectivity.

  Finally, if the iPhone and Apple Watch still have difficulty to stay connected, back up your iPhone and then restore it to the factory settings. Instructions to save can be found here: How to back up your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

  Once the restore is complete, set up your iPhone as a new device (i.e. without using your backup, at least temporarily). You can connect to iCloud iMessage, FaceTime and iTunes and the App Store. Pair your Apple Watch, then test connectivity. If everything works as expected, go ahead and restore your backup following the steps are: restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup

  There is nothing you can do to get around activation icloud blocking without recovering the former owners information.

  I need an AppleScript script to copy to the Clipboard a thumbnail of a selected file (s. picture 1 below) with a hyperlink to the URL of the selected file.

  I have a script that allows me to get the URL of the file and copy it to the Clipboard. But then I have to paste the URL into my Document, back to the finder, make a screenshot of the thumbnail of the file, paste this screenshot and enter the URL (manually copy) of the file (choose the context menu of the image) (s. image 2 below):

  

  Is there a way to automate this?

  I could do the screenshot manually, this is actually no problem, but then I would need to attribute this screenshot on a Clipboard 1, go back and get the URL of the file and attribute it to Clipboard 2 and then go to my document and paste Clipboard 1 first, chose the menu popup "hyperlink" and the Clipboard paste 2.

  I would be grateful for the help!

  OpenOffice or LibreOffice aren't outwardly scriptable with AppleScript or Automator, as to exclude these two applications that support. They are inwardly Python scriptable via their respective SDK.

  I became aware of a solution of AppleScript that invites for the input file, then uses a custom (port) application that uses QuickLook to generate an image thumbnail jpg to your specified output destination. I added a line of AppleScript that sends the URL of the file to the Clipboard.

  After running the script, I can paste the URL of the document in LibreOffice and follow by drag and drop the jpg thumbnail afterwards.

  

  Do you want me to post the directions for this solution. In its current form, it is not written for processing batch.

• How to insert a hyperlink is shortened into numbers?

  I'm missing something, because I searched on the support site and Google to find anything about how to do it!  I have an excel spreadsheet that I transformed and realized there is no visible way to get a shortcut.  In Excel, it is very easy – copy the hyperlink, rename and paste it!

  Is this really not available in numbers function, or the instructions are well hidden?

  Simply type the link in the cell you want only it in. It should automatically create the link. To test this, click the Web site after that you type.

• It cannot open hyperlinks in outlook. Could but can't now.

  The title says it all really: basically, I can't open a hyperlink in any E-Mail using Outlook. I can if IE is the browser but not if it's Firefox.
  For more information: my OS is Windows 7. Outlook is 2003.

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    then select restart with disabled modules.

  If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
