G1 455 fingerprint reader software

Hi I recently acquired a G1 455 with a fingerprint reader on it.  I did a clean install of Windows 7 and now I can't seem to find what software came with the computer, which allows to use the fingerprint reader.  I have install the driver, but so far I can't use the drive.

Have you looked on the download section of this Web site drivers? Most of the built-in software that is necessary for the functionality of the basic system is available for download for all models.

    Hi Donald,.

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

I'm not the only one to help you with this; I never - ever - was able to get the version of series 8 HP SimplePass software works correctly.  When I was able to run, he soon blurred place a small ball of code-waddle.  Sigh.  I use the 6 series, the old version of AuthenTec's HP SimplePass - is no longer on the list official "support" but used by many and, oh, so strong and vigorous.

However, series 8 is the official version of these days AND 8 series is the version that comes with the latest laptop computers.  Series 8 is the future.  We move.

If - the following may be useful that everything else is equal, and the universe is not against you:

    Reference:

ENVY of HP TouchSmart m7-j120dx Notebook PC drivers

Open the file > click Download > click 'open in Adobe Reader.

If your HP SimplePass is a heap of smoking rubble (broken):

Jump down to about Page 10 (updated) - Look / search the Section Hard Reset séquence

    Next:

See the Section on Page 2 (updated):

HP SimplePass and fingerprint Scanner Support Document - Windows 8

    Then, if necessary:

Better, you can complete the procedure / steps in the section:

Procedure - updated / (install HP SimplePass Re)

    NOTES:

    • Observe the warnings that the series 6 and series 8 HP SimplePass are not the same program.  Do not try to install series 6 HP SimplePass on a computer on which you have already installed the 8 HP SimplePass series.  While it is true that we can term series 6 HP SimplePass on your laptop, you cannot have the two programs on the system at the same time.  They are not compatible - they were written by different programmers - they were written by competing companies - programs do not like each other.
    • Remember that series 8 has no 'fix' option for the 6 series mentioned in the Guide.  You need to reinstall the HP SimplePass software (available in the Guide, or in your case, Don, site Web on your computer supports pages).
    • For best results, do not skip the reboot / reboot sequences.  Windows like a good restart.  HP SimplePass really enjoys a good reboot sequence; the database is a fussy code fish.
    • If all else fails and you have tried everything and that the universe is against you - completely remove the program from the computer, perform the Hard Reset sequence - do not forget this isn't, won't erase your computer - and then, very slowly, start on the Section:

Procedure - updated / (install HP SimplePass Re)

    • Don't forget that if you want really to CONNECT using your fingerprint, you HAVE not even fingerprints - Windows 8.1 has its own connection software native of fingerprints that will at least you connect to Windows.  You cannot use it to control the Web sites, but you can get at least on the computer by using the fingerprint reader.

    Good luck!

  • Fingerprint reader does not react anymore while the software seems to work (Thinkpad E530 Windows 10)

I used logg in via the reader of fingerprints (windows 10) with no problems, now the fingerprint reader does not react anymore when I pull the finger. I managed to remove all the passwords in the password manager (still not sure about it as I don't really understand how all the components work together) hoping that would solve the problem. Not the fingerprint reader software keeps asking me to register a new finger. Everything seems to work fine (I can pick a finger to be registered, type my password windowns) until I asked me to draw the finger on the fingerprint reader: nothing happens! The indicator that shows how the finger was scanned shows nothing at all. Looks like the software works, but the fingerprint reader itself is dead. However, looking into the information system the "TouchStrip Fingerprint Sensor' (WBF mode advanced) seems to work fine.

Help, please. I don't have any idea how to find out what's not here.

Thank you very much for the tip! He works in fact :-). Even if it does not seem logical to me, as I never put it in place a front pin - and fingerprint reader work very well even without PIN code. But who cares - the main thing is it works now! So thanks a lot again :-)!

  • software of fingerprint reader problem

Hello Yes.  I just bought this new Dell Latitude E 5440 with Windows 7 64 Bit Enterprise Edition is installed.  I downloaded most of the drivers successfully.  But could not find a compatible fingerprint reader software.  I have the drivers for it just not the software.  And the option to register my fingerprints in the windows user account page is not there.  All solutions?  Does anyone have a solution to this problem?  Thank you!

If it is a new Dell laptop, what drivers were you install? they would already have been installed by Dell, and updates the driver would have been obtained from Dell support.

You did the mistake of using windows update to install the recommended updates, that would have included drivers?

Regarding the fingerprint reader, assuming that it is the Dell player, its software/drivers would have been installed by Dell

  • Want to fire green W701 fingerprint reader when the laptop is turned off

I realize the amount of electricity it uses is trivial, but unfortunately the accusation that carries the battery isn't much else. For the most part it's just because I don't have a use for the fingerprint reader. I completely uninstalled the software from the control panel. I thought that would get the light, but the "light on" survived the uninstaller not so complete.

I hope that there is a way to do it in the bios. If necessary I could re-download the software of fingerprint and do a from there, if possible.

It is possible to do anyway, please let me know. It's a minor thing, but I'm pretty annoyed that I'd make a sort.

When you turn on the computer (off-state), press F1 when you see the Lenovo logo (until the BONES start to load). "I think that you should find the fingerprints under security settings). It shouldn't be too hard to find.

Edit: Looks like that I don't remember it correctly. In the BIOS, you have the option to completely disable the fingerprint reader, but you do not have the option to turn off the green light only without disabling the fingerprint reader. If you want to disable the fingerprint reader completely turn off the computer, then turn on and press F1 when you see the Thinkpad logo (prior to the OS). When you enter BIOS click protection on the menu, and then select access to the Port of IO. In this list, you should have the ability to disable the fingerprint reader that I am sure that will also disable the go-ahead since the sensor is no longer in use. Press F10 to save and exit from BIOS.

To remove the green light only, or disable the option to turn on your computer by sliding the finger without completely disabling the fingerprint reader, in my view, you must reinstall the fingerprint reader software. Then, you must open the application after installation and type your password or by the finger scan enter enter parameters. Then click the settings button in the toolbar and you should have several tabs where you can turn off the green light or disable the use of fingerprint predesktop authentication.

  • T420 Windows 8.1 fingerprint reader

Lenovo Fingerprint Reader software is not Windows 8.1, any help?

    Hi all

I found a solution for the integrated software for Windows 8.1 finger.
So, currently, it's for my T500 but it could work with T420.
According to Microsoft, the finger native connection manager works if the finger sensor driver is based on the 'Windows Biometric Framework'.
Then, I remember that on the AuthenTec support site, it was possible to download a compatible driver, but since the recovery by Apple, this support site has disappeared.
We have a chance that the internet has a backup for drivers

From the link below, you can find the driver for Windows 8.1-compatible finger.
If the link does not work, try searching for the name of the driver on your favorite researcher: "WBF3.4.4.1027."
