  Snow Leopard erase and install

  1. Insert the Snow Leopard DVD in the optical drive and restart the computer.

To leave the Mac in a State OOTB (Out Of The Box), do not continue with the Setup program. Instead, press the command and Q keys to stop the computer. The installation wizard will guide you the new owner through the installation procedure, after that it turns on the computer.
  8. Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 v1.1 updated Combo. If necessary. It is not necessary if you are selling or giving your computer away.

• DeskJet 6988 lid does not close

  I have problems with the lid without closing on my Deskjet 6988.

  I just changed the ink cartridges, but the lid won't come down completely - it gets stuck about half an inch short makes it close.  The two ink cartridges are firmly in place with the Snappers bit closed on them, so I know this isn't the problem.  I regularly had this problem before, but this time it seems to be blocked for good.  Sometimes when I close the lid very, very slowly it will go down, but this time it will not.  As far as I know, there is no rhyme or reason why the lid closes without problem a few times, and other times refuse to close.  I even tried to turn off and on, which sometimes works, but once again, nothing seems to fix this time.

  Does anyone else have this problem?  Anyone has any ideas on how to fix it?  I have some stuff that really need to print quickly, but in its current state, my printer can be a very large paperweight with flashing lights.

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button

    

    click Help

    

    then select restart with disabled modules.

  If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
  • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
    (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

  When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

  

  If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration.   After the upgrade to osx 10.11.5 Some Apps do not close properly. A free App Icon(with the black dot) remains on the dock. I can start the application again, which leads to an additional icon. When I run the command "killall Dock" multiple icons dead is reduced to one. It seems that for most opengl using the Apps are kept in the Dock after closing.

  After a while, some of the Apps start more. Photos.app throws an exception "invalid pixel format.

  The only thing to get rid of the icons and the problem with apps not from, is to restart my mac.

  A normal reboot or a stop will not work (so I am unable to install the latest update of the operating system).

  I have to use 'sudo shutdown-h now' or hold down the power button.

  Does anyone else have this problem or even better: a fix for this problem.

I had windows desfault settings check if I have doen not matter what settings with avg pc tuneup 2011, Tweak Me! UWT 2.2 and used TCP Optimizer to bring the network settings by default by windows to 9000 kbps of download speed (after that I did a network speed test). Now firefox is super fast and xcloses normally.

Then the next time I go to open it it says something like ' Firefox is open but does not close it before trying to open it again.
