G62: New hard drive does not start after recovery.
I installed a new hard drive after my old a bi dust.
I ran the recovery from the discs of HP.
After formatting the disk and copy files, it won't boot from the disk.
I changed the boot order and tested the drive in the BIOS.
What Miss me?
The new hard drive sometimes requires to prepare first with utility cd from Cyberlink. Download and save the file. Once the download is complete, place a blank cd in your drive and click on the file to create a boot cd. Start with this cd and wait until you get a green check mark indicates the hard disk is ready. Remove the cd, insert the first disc of recovery and restart the laptop.

After the new HARD drive does not start installation Qosmio G15
I just got this G15 last week and one of the hard drives was bad. Put it in a new Bay 2 and it does not start. I took it back and it starts fine. I even changed the main hard drive Bay 2 HD and it starts up fine with a hard drive. It's something to do with the scores, I think. Any help appreciated.
Hello
I think that the boot order has been the bad HARD drive in the BIOS.
At the new disk you do not installed any OS, and in my opinion, this is a reason for starting problems.
Simply access the BIOS and change the boot order -
Toshiba Q300 480 GB HARD drive does not start after migration
Hello
I bought a disc of Q300 489 GB to replace a small 840EVO of Samsung. I used the toshiba tool to clone the smallest to the largest player. However when the clone is finished and the reboot of the machine the machine hangs just at the start of the process (before starting windows 10). If I go back to my little samsung it starts without a problem.
I tried to treat twice with NTIEcho and also tried with Partition AOMEI tool, all attempts have failed to start on the Q300 drive.
I am just tempted to refer the reader to Ebuyer, getting another Samsung. Maybe Toshiba can tell me how to get the drive working properly?
Regards Sean
PS. can someone direct me to a page where I can raise a ticket of Toshiba, I would be grateful. There seems to be some links broken on the UK site.
Hello.
Do you have an error message when the operating system does not start? Appearing in AOMEI Partition Wizard you have been used during the replacement of the Samsung drive?
After the largest disk cloning, you may need to change the boot settings in the BIOS or to remove the previous Samsung drive to test. -
I have a T61 with XP on it. The factory hard drive was beginning to show its age, so I got a 500GB WD Black drive for her. I used Acronis True Image to clone the old hard drive to the new. I used my counter top to do the cloning. When I plug the new disk in, the cursor just blinks and it will not start.
I thought that maybe the clone was bad, so I put the new drive hard back at the top of my desk and is able to boot all the way to the windows start screen. If I plug the old drive in the laptop, it starts very well, simply refuses to boot from the new drive.
Guessed it.
Put the new hard drive into the computer, put the old hard drive in a USB enclosure and done a CD boot Acronis, and made the clone of the laptop. Runs like a champ and now flies.

Hard drive does not start after the use of the recovery on USB Manager
The hard drive on HP G62t - 350 CTO Notebook to my newphew failed. I could create a USB recovery in the Recovery Manager. I installed a new 120 GB SSD. The original hard drive was bigger, do not remember now but 250 or 500 GB. I know that the recover the system after the hard is replaced (Windows 7) said "to avoid problems, install a hard drive as big or bigger than the replaced hard disk", but that's a question for later.
Computer started fine of USB (in fact, is set to boot from USB if present by default). Recovery Manager starts. I choose minimum installation. He goes through the process of partitioning the SSD and copying files. Said so to remove the external media and restart, the computer will restart several times during the process, blah, blah, blah. I get out of USB and restarted, but after POST I get "no bootable media present.
If I try to reboot, leaving the USB in, it starts in USB and that we are at the beginning. I am able to confirm with a rescue disk, the SSD has an NTFS partition that had Windows files copied to it and a large amount of unallocated space. (Something like 60% / 40%).
So:
- How make bootable hard drive for, and if it was bootable, recovery processes complete?
- What is happening with the partitions? He creates the partition recovery first, and then after the start, the recovery partition installs the operating system? If so, I might have to give up this process because since I'm moving to smaller storage, I don't want to devote half of the drive to a recovery partition.
- Official recovery media help? A technician told me that he would do so, but couldn't explain to my satisfaction why the USB I created with Recovery Manager does not work, so I'm suspicious of the assertion that the media created by HP as opposed to media created by me using the own HP software would be better, and since the computer is under warranty I don't want to spend $30 + to find out.
Most of the people who have installed an SSD that was smaller than the reader of the factory were unable to use any medium recovery HP with the SSD.
As an alternative, if you can still read the 25 characters on the COA affixed Microsoft Windows product key at the bottom of the computer, you can install Windows 7 family, by using this key. I have a HP Pavilion zd7000 that bad on the hard drive. I bought another and used the reinstallation disc to reinstall Windows Home Edition. Everything seemed to go well, but it starts now to a HP Invent logo black screen that says press F10 to go together to the top and F12 at startup of Lan. Then, a second black screen appears that says press F1 to resume or F10 Setup. I press F1 and Windows loads very well. What can I do to have Windows load immediately without going through this? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you much in advance!

New hard drive does not appear in the disk utility
I am installing a new hard drive in my late 2011 13 "MacBook Pro. I started using apple's online retrieval system and went to disk utility. I tried to format the drive, but he is stuck saying "remove disc" for about a half hour, and then I had a rotation beach ball and could not move the cursor. I restarted the computer and now the drive does not appear in the disk utility. Any help is appreciated as I have no idea where to go from here.
Thank you.
You will may be turned off and check that your hard drive is correctly positioned with all the screws tight.

Satellite M30x - new HARD drive does not work
Hello.
I am installing a new ATA 2.5 "internal hard drive for my Toshiba M30X-166. The drive is a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 120 GB model. The laptop does not recognize the disc and no related error message appears, and in the BIOS, it shows as "HD not available."
I put this drive in an external USB - IDE enclosure and was detected by my desktop PC, and I was able to partition and format the Momentus, so I know the drive is indeed work, but my M30X still does not detect the drive.
What can I do to make the laptop recognize this unit? The BIOS M30X is: Phoenix EAL20 version 1.90.
Thanks for your help.
Hello!
Have you tried another HARD drive? The new HARD drive is may not compatible with the laptop or does work does not correctly.
Normally, a 120 GB HARD drive should work because the laptop has a limitation of LBA 28 bits and so you can only use hard drives 120 GB.
In the worst cases, the HARD disk on the motherboard controller is defective :(Good bye

Satellite M30X-165: new HARD drive does not work
Hi, I want to replace the old hard drive, HITACHI 80 GB in my Satellite M30X 165. I bought SEAGATE Momentus 5400.3 120GB but it seems that it may not be recognized by the BIOS. Anyone know what to do or what types of discs can be used in this notebook? Thanks for help.
Hello
Sometimes a bios update has solved many issues about installing new hardware.
BUT Please note: the Bios has a limitation of size of HARD drive support. Not all sizes are supported. I guess that the 120 GB are too big and therefore you can not use it!
You must switch to a smaller size. Check with a 80 or 100 GB HARD drive
See you soon

Hard drive does not start on Presario
I have a Compaq Presario SR2050NX which is no longer boot from the hard drive under XP or Diags. I think it might be the hard disk controller or a corrupted bios. It crashes as soon as the mountain and the moon appear on the partition of diagnosis.
I have a Presario identical unit, so I thought that I want to borrow this hard drive to help debug. Same results.
I checked the boot order in the BIOS and it has floppy, CD/DVD, hard drive then. I also tried to plug the cable from the hard drive into one of the connectors and also tried a new cable from hard drive. No luck. I also traded memory just in case, but always the same result.
I looked to see if I can update the BIOS where it was corrupted, but it gives me a .exe file I need to run in Windows. Is there a bootable CD to update the BIOS?
This is what my bios at startup:
FRIEND BIOS 3.17 26/07/06 Core version 08.00.12
BIOS string: 63-0100-000001-000101111-072606-RS400-RC410-M-YZKCWhat can I do now? I can debug more. I'm not ready to buy a new system, and it seems that replacement motherboards are out of stock. I am happy to send in for service, but I didn't understand how to make yet on the HP site.
Thanks for any help on this
CATSounds more like a problem of motherboard BIOS corrupted. If the BIOS was corrupted you wouldn't be able to do much more in addition put on.

Qosmio G20 - new HARD drive does not work
I have a G20 and try to change one of my hard drives of 60 GB for a new 250 GB (Western Digital WD2500BEVS, SATA-150, 5400 RPM).
First thing I would add is that the hard drive is fully discoverable, formatable, and usable in my desktop... but in my G20s it only detects it in the BIOS but has a status of 'impossible' and my operating system (XP) can't quite see.
Please can someone help?
Hello
You've got a 60 GB and a 250 GB HARD drive in your Qosmio G20.
Is this good? What RAID settings do you use?
You can check the settings in the BIOS and in the user manual, you will find some details about the RAID.If the RAID is defined on the mirror then only the HARD drive would be available and if the first HARD 60 GB disk is then the other HARD disk would also provide ONLY 60 GB even if it s 250GB
