G7-1261NR AMDA4 - 3300M Pavilion: motherboard compatibility / level

I have a Pavilion g7-1261NR with AMD A4 Processor - 3300 M Llano FS1 QE310UA #ABA

For some reason, all of the 3 USB ports do not work, and no solution Support HP will fix them.

So I have to replace the motherboard apparently. That being said, my question is: what is the best motherboard to the g7 that will fit in my laptop and accept my processor?

My wife has a model completely different g7, and I have swapped out the motherboard too, while I say g7 all seem to have the same internal dimensions, indicating motherboards are compatible across different models. If I have to replace mine, I might well have best out there for a few dollars more than a direct replacement for my current model.

Thank you!

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

Best motherboard for AMD A-series processors would be this one:

For use only with the computer models equipped with the AMD A60M chipset and a graphic subsystem with 1024 MB discrete video memory 649950-001

It has the best dedicated video chip. ATI HD6470M. Now you have just the graphics that are integrated into the processor.

It won't make a big difference between this and your motherboard in terms of features or performance. If you want to improve performance, you must also upgrade the processor and your top options are an A8 - 3500M. They are not expensive, given the limited demand for AMD processors. It would still be a noticeable uprade.

The announcement for the motherboard ebay does not G7, but it's the same card mother, just used in a lot of different models. Post back with more questions. If you just stick with the image on the hard drive you will get a Windows not genuine message and may need to reinstall Windows 7.

  • 550-111na Pavilion: motherboard

Hi I have HP pavilion 111na 550 and want to update my chart, but I need a new power supply, I was just wondering if the motherboard that I would survive a new diet that is higher that the one 180w i have now? The motherboard I have is now called the Orchid3 who already came with the office. Thank you

    AGray1810

The total power output is not serious because it is only a concern when you need graphics cards power who aspire a lot of power.  The motherboard will draw any power he needs, regardless of the side.

The biggest concern is the power connector on the motherboard and the power supply cable corresponding to the PSU.  They came in 20 pin and 24-inch versions.  The Orchid3 has 24-pin Socket.  So both the PSU power cable has a connector 24 pin, you will be OK.

All the latest power supplies will have 24-pin connectors.

Here is a link to the HP page for this motherboard: http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04783128

    Good luck

  • Pavilion a6752f: HP Pavilion a6752f compatibility

    Hello

We bought a HP Pavilion a6752f in early 2009. It's all stock, nothing has been changed. Although, we replaced our purchased but the same GPU. I was wondering - my PC is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit? Thanks in advance! Been stuck on Windows Vista 64-bit since 2009.

    Hello

It would be possible to install Windows 7 64-bit drivers and software are available:

  • Pavilion p6267c: compatibility Windows 10

I have recently installed Windows 10 on my HP desktop.

My Microsoft Wheel Mouse Opticcal works fine at the start; But if the computer goes to sleep, the mouse does not work when the computers came back upward.  I have to unplug the mouse and plug it in again to make it work.

I couldn't find a driver for Windows 10 online, so I called Microsoft.  They looked at my computer and told me that they don't think that it is compatible with Windows 10.

Is this likely?  Is there a fix without incurring a cost?

    Thank you.

    Hi there @Winyah67,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that Microsoft has indicated that they believe that your computer is not compatible with Windows 10. I'm happy to help you with this.

When I checked your computer model, I found that there are no specific drivers for Windows 10. This isn't an insurmountable fact. If you upgraded your computer using the compatibility check, then Windows 10 already checked your system for compatibility with the operating system and then went ahead. When Windows 10 was released, Microsoft stated that any system that is running Windows 7 or 8.1 was eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 10.  Of course, to see the wide range of hardware and software installed in networks, it is impossible to check all the possible combinations of hardware and software and components elders are not likely to get the specific drivers of Windows 10. This has always been the case when the most recent operating systems are available. Old programs and devices do not always work with it.  In the case of Windows 10, the preliminary compatibility test was to see if there was material that was absolutely incompatible. If it is passed then the existing driver might work or Windows 10 had an internal driver that he could use.

Now, all that being said, you can always try to install and use a 7 or more former Windows 8.1 driver and see if it will work, or you can try to install again, but this time using the mode of compatibility in Windows 10. It can solve the problem. See this Microsoft supportthat paper can help you with this: how: install and update drivers in Windows 10 -answers.microsoft.com

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

Yes, the upgrade of processor is really feasible in your laptop - which is not the case, usually, but if this cost is ridiculously high, I'd go for newer towers equipped processors Haswell or Ivybridge 3rd or 4th gen.

  • IBM A31 motherboard compatibility?

    Hello

I have an IBM A31 who needs a new motherboard. My question is that A30 motherboard will be compatible with the A31 and I can use the processor of the A31.

I would be grateful if someone can help me.

    Thanks in advance

    Welcome to the forum!

A31 shell is slightly different from those used on the A30, but the A30 jury would be in good shape with a DIY. However, A30 Council cannot use P3M CPU, the fastest being 1.2 Ghz, so it would be incompatible with a P4M CPU of your A31.

    I hope this helps.

  • W520 replacing motherboard compatibility

I have a W520 with an i7 2760QM Quadro 1000 m and the 4 RAM slots, a couple of weeks, he died on me. He took for an assessment of the repair - I was told that the motherboard was dead and that the repair costs would be, for lack of a better word, obscene. Even the guy who ran the diagnosis had never seen a quote anywhere close to coming as high as what it finds for mine. I could buy at least four W520s refurbished for the price of this mobo.

So I thought I could just grab a mobo online and do a DIY repair, except for the specific part, I've been quoted on (RUF 04W2036) seems to be almost impossible to find. However there seems to be a lot of mobos W520 circulate with various replaceable units on site (04W2024, 04W2035, 04W2040, etc etc etc) that AFAICT look identical. I took a quick look around forums and saw nothing about this specific mobo serial, so I wonder if all or some or only the 04W2036 specific FRU for my specific configuration of the W520 could be used to make a repair. What is the difference between all of these varieties of mobos? The only thing I can think of that would separate this specific mobo seriously would be to have 4 RAM slots instead of the typical 2, but one of them would be consistent I would be more than willing to sacrifice some locations if it meant avoiding a repair job that costs more than the laptop brand new three years ago.

    Nice day.

If you don't already have it, you can download your Manual material:

    http://download.Lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/PC/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/t520_t520i_w520_hmm_en_0A60078_08.PDF

135-137 pages show a number of maps of W520 system, with some indicators of differences, which appear to be permutations of: nVidia Quadro 1000 M and 2000 M, + / AMT, + / TPM and + / RAID.

FRU P/N 04W2036 is specified as: "Nvidia Quadro 1000 M, non - AMT, TPM, no RAID adapter.

    For reference:

    04W2040 only differs by RAID.

04W2035 differs by the Quadro 2000 M, AMT and RAID, but no TPM module.

04W2024 is indicated on page 134, but he is listed as being for the T520.

Finally, using 04W2036 on the site of maintenance parts:

    http://www-304.IBM.com/shop/Americas/webapp/WCS/stores/servlet/default/PromotionDisplay?promoName=PA...

shows the part as in stock. You can take a look and compare the price for what you have been quoted.

    Does that help?

    Kind regards.

  • HP Compaq dx2400 microtour format: video card - motherboard compatibility

Hi, first I want to sorry my bad English because I'm Romanian.

My question is: I have a HP Compaq dx2400 microtour and I want to know if AMD R7 240 1 GB ddr5 Sapphire, it will be able to run on my pc.

    Thanks in advance!

    Stefan, welcome to the forum.

I was able to understand exactly what you need.  Your English is no problem.

Here is the Service reference Guide to the computer.  It will give you all the information you need.  On Page 104, it has information on the power supply unit (PSU).  It is 300 w which is not enough to feed the video card you want to buy.  Also, I think that the card requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.

Your best options would be to contact the manufacturer Technical Support to see what they have to say.  If this card will not work, they should be able to tell you which of their cards will work.  They will need some information in the document I have provided.

Please click on the button + Thumbs up if I helped you and click on accept as Solution If your problem is resolved.

  • Pavilion dv6t-2000: level questions to SSD

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade my hard drive, because it failed the test of hard disk through BIOS > diagnostic test. The hard drive seems to overheat and is super slow these days.

I found this hard drive, which is the same size as the one I currently have and want to be sure of the following:

    SSD, I plan to buy:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820148948&utm_medium=email&utm_source=IGNEFL09...

    My questions:

    1. I have a recovery disc that I bought with the laptop originally, this will install Windows 7 and the 'default' or 'new' version of the operating system on the new SSD?

    2. when I go to install the SSD drive is there a cable I need to buy or going to the existing of a cable inside the computer game portable SSD?

    3. will I need support for the SSD sit in where was the old HDD?

    Your help is appreciated!

The SSD will use the same cable, tray, etc. The exterior of the SSD is physically identical to a mechanical hard drive. SATA connection and mounting holes are in the exact same places. It might be a little thinner but which does not affect compatibility. The recovery disc will work with DSS, provided that the SSD is at least as large as the smallest drive HP offered on your laptop model, which seems to be your case, since you have a mechanical drive of 256 GB (?). The series MX Crucial had a few cases has been reported problems with HP laptops. No one has identified the exact reason, and I'm not sure that the issues were with your model, but you should be aware of this. I always recommend the range Samsung 850 Evo of discs.

    Hello

I don't foresee any problems with your choices.

Relatives on the slot PCI-E x 16 must be vacant.  Examine the characteristics of the motherboard.

These "how-to" HP articles should be useful.

TIP: Unlock and slide the optical drive forward before you remove and install the power supply. This helps facilitate the removal and installation of the power supply, but it is not mandatory.
