Gain setting NI LabVIEW RIO assessment Kit online.

Hello

I'm interested in using the evaluation package NI LabVIEW RIO for the implementation of a PID controller. I want to know if it is possible to adjust the gains PID controller implemented on this kit without putting an end to the operation in real time?    If, for example, if the controller controls the speed of a motor continuous, can I adjust the LabView PID gains without having to stop the kit?

Umar.

Hi Omar,.

You ask about functionality to AutoFix or just tuning the PID manually? Whatever it is, you should be able to capture your PID non-stop kit.

    Hi Thomas,

You might want to take a look at this post on the forum, where another user seems to have a similar problem as you: http://forums.ni.com/t5/Academic-Hardware-Products-ELVIS/fpga-compilation-error-LabVIEW-2015/td-p/32...

My guess is that this has to do with an error in download of Vivado Xilinx tools. Since you are using LabVIEW 2015, you need Vivado 2014.4. Based on your original screenshot, looks like you are using this version. Do you know if you have other versions installed on your computer? If you do, it is possible that your dll point to the incorrect reference to a different version.

I recommend to repair your installation of Vivado 2014.4. You can repair according to the installation found at the following link: http://www.ni.com/download/labview-fpga-module-2015/5492/en/

  • When I change the setting by LabVIEW on my device, I see change on the monitor of the device?

When I change the setting by LabVIEW on my device, I see change on the monitor of the device?

This question should be addressed to the manufacturer of the device. From your previous posts, I guess you use GPIB or serial. If the unit has received the order, the manufacturer should be able to tell if no indicators on the device to update when the order is received. Based on my experience, however, the device indicators will most likely update on receipt of an order successfully.

  • Labview report video creation online tutorials?

Is there a good video report from Labview tutorials online of creation?

I am inexperienced with Labview and would like to read a stream of data to a serial port and place the content in a document of ASCII text (under some custom header information) and would be a useful video.

    Thank you

Control OK, apparently, there is something of a difference between the size of the font in a header in relation to the font size of test in the body of a report and I added a report are Set"in the body text change font size of the report to size about half of the font size of this topic , and when it prints the report body text font size is a bit larger...

Don't know why it is and thought, it might have something to do with the size of the font highlighted below...

  • Set adapter LabVIEW auto detect programmatically

    Hello

I can programmatically set the adapter of LabVIEW 2011 RTE inTestStand using this expression:

    RunState.Engine.GetAdapterByKeyName ("G VI Flexible adapter"). AsLabVIEWAdapter.SetServerInfo (LabVIEWServer_RTEServer, "C:\\Program Files (x 86) \\National Run-Time\\2011\\lvrt.dll" ")

I want to set the adapter to 'Auto Detect VI version' instead. Someone know a solution to this

    Thank you

    BR

    Mogens

    Try this:

    RunState.Engine.GetAdapterByKeyName ("G VI Flexible adapter"). AsLabVIEWAdapter.SetServerInfo (LabVIEWServer_RTEServer, "AutoDetect")

I used the GetServerInfo method with mine the autodetect value and that's what he returned.

    Hope that helps,

  • DAQ set of Labview, acquisition of DLL

    Hello

I wonder if it is possible to do the configuration of NI DAQ card of labview, but acquisition of data from DLL written in C++?

    Michael

    Just an additional option:

If your creation/configuration of the task must be programming in LabVIEW, you can use the "storage screw" under measure i/o > NOR-DAQmx > advanced > System Setup > store to save a task programmatically.  Then c++, you could just load this task.

  • HP3478A front/rear setting in LabVIEW

I want to take action using both the front and rear inputs on the multimeter HP3478A. This is easily done with the hardware front/rear switch. The status of this option can be queried using the ' order, where 0 indicates rear and 1 indicates the front.

Is it possible to define the State of this option rear using LabVIEW?

The manual makes it clear that the Statute is a read-only.  It is a hard switch after all (or rear).  I advise to use some relay to change your signals if you really need connect different things to measure.

  • 'Multiplication' of the Labview Robotics Starter Kit?

Hello! Im working on the odometry for my Starter Kit (model 4 wheels) based on the book "where I am? -You can download the book for free here: http://www-personal.umich.edu/~johannb/position.htm page 20 this theory says that the factor which translates as the number of pulses to linear distance is: Cm = D: PI * D /(n*Ce) diameter of the wheel (mm) = 4 "= 0,1016 mm n = gear ratio =? This linear encoder resolution (PPR) = 400 PPR so = distance = Cm * N_pulses Im not sure how I could calculate the gear ratio of the LR Starter Kit, taking into account that there are 4 speeds interconected for each pair of wheels. I found in a document from the COMPENSATION Commission that the ratio of the Starter Kit is 83:1, but if I try n = 83 distances Don t make any sense! -UNIC course laboratory 2 (PDF, 1 page assignment): "" "gear ratio: it's the amount of turns, it takes the engine to fill per 1 rotation of the wheel.» The ratio of the daNI robotic platform is about 83:1. (This value takes the engine reduction account) "" "" If anyone has the gear ratio calculated beforehand, or can give me some guidance on how to calculate it (or tell me if Im doing anything worng with units!), could you help me, please?

    Mosadioluwa,

I do not know whence the value of 83:1, but I can tell you that the wheels of Starter Kit 1.0 have a gear ratio of exactly 2 Motors per wheel turn.  The engine is mounted on a wheel of 40 teeth, which meshes with the 80 teeth gears that are mounted on wheels.  This means that the ratio is 2:1.  Note that the Starter Kit 2.0 has a 1:1 ratio.

  • Can I set a different password for my online account, by email and on the linked account PC.

    Hello

I think that it is on the windows system's huge security breach 8.

I have 3 PC and all of them use the same password (password of account).

My email is also using the same password too.

If I want to buy items in the store windows, I need to use the same password again.

Therefore, I don't want to make purchases of the Windows application because it is not secure.

It is because if your computer gets hacked or something, the hacker is able to get all your information of all accounts linked to your on-line account (e.g., facebook, e-mail) and all your live account Details payments. They can also delete your account if the computer is a reliable PC.

I hope that Microsoft is able to allow people to use different password for different purposes.

    i.e.

    E-mail

    Windows Store purchases

    Each Windows PC

    Manage the Live account

I like the concept for windows 8, but I think they still have room to improve. So, I hope to contribute.
If windows 8 store is safe to use, the store will work very well in the future.

    Kind regards

    Simon

    Hi Simon,.

Thanks for the post and comments about Microsoft Community.

I look you would like to know if you can use a different password for your online accounts and emails and on the computers.

I would suggest that you can use different password for the same account on different computers. You must use the same password to buy anything on Windows Store. Windows Store is a secure store you can go ahead and make purchases from there.

  • Evaluation of RIO package

    Beste mensen

    Help.

Schaffen you aan, IK overweeg tzt some myRIO, kan ik om said clean daarmee ook IK?

    puts goede groet

    Hello

    My problem is solved:

The evaluation of RIO package reacts different to the Windows Firewall when it is new, or when it is not new. GOLD: I guess it was the cause.

I used the RIO to my private computer system, I installed a software using MAX. This method works.

Now I am able to use it at the University as well.

Whit exactly the same hardware configuration, I used yesterday when it won't work.

  • How to set programmatically a LabVIEW exe * Windows * priority?

I have an executable of LabVIEW that makes data acquisition to 10 kHz on an ongoing basis and under certain conditions of dumps of these data to a CSV file that is viewable in Excel.  We noticed if the file becomes unusually large and someone tries to open this file so that DAQ'ing is always in course (but does not connect), Excel will monopolize the CPU long enough such that the exe of LabVIEW does not have enough time CPU to extract data from data acquisition until the data in its circular buffer gets replaced.  I could try to simply increase the size of the buffer DAQ, but really, the solution is to have this executable LabVIEW have "priority" over other executables non-LabVIEW (such as Excel.)    Looking at properties VI--> execution--> set the priority seems to only define the priority between other threads LabVIEW but says nothing about how a thread LabVIEW is prioritized to another non-LabVIEW exe.   I have confirmed this by setting the LabVIEW execution property to 'critical moment' and then in the Task Manager and windows reports still his priority as "normal".   How can I set the * Windows * priority of an executable of LabVIEW without having to do it manually via the Task Manager?

    Thank you

    Ninja Edit:

I should mention that I am building the executable is nothing else than a "master GUI" which generates four LabVIEW modules in sub-panels using static VI refs and displays important data from these four modules persistent "dashboard".   Modules to do all the boring tasks such as DAQ'ing and display data in charts.  Because I am compiling my code in a single executable using the GUI 'master' as the boot VI, set the priority in properties of VI flow down to the modules I load in sub-panels or will only the priority of the Master GUI be changed?  On a related note, should I set four enforcement system 'Data acquisition' modules, then the master GUI to ' User Interface?

You can try calling the next VI. It sets the priority for the current process and has worked for me in the past on XP.

  • What is the setting point in v2 profile us Web Coated Swop of gain?

    Hey guys,.

This may seem a bit of a n00b question, but I really can't find that info all what I Googled it.

What is the point of setting default in v2 profile us Web Coated SWOP of gain?

    Let me explain my dilemma:

My printer told me to use the US Web Coated SWOP v2 this profile for a catalog that we will print. 4/4 on gloss 100 # book stock. However, I have used this profile in the past and the prints came out darker as I expected. I don't have a printer of high enough quality to be able to test this in-house, but I am sure that my monitor is too bright or set a contrast too high level. They told me that their standard mast is approximately 10-15%

I assumed the SWOP v2 profile 20% fattening as seems to be the default for most of the other color settings, but I've never known with certainty. I am trying to decide if I need to use a custom profile with a highest point gain setting.

    Thanks for any help!

    Kenzier

    Hello Kenzier,

the U.S. Web Coated SWOP ICC profile contains a reproduction of the tones (CRT) curve

which can only be described accurately by Dot Gain or Gamma.

For entry into the color settings > Gray we can proceed as follows:

Color settings > Gray > grey load > (click on) USWebCoatedSWOP.icc > save gray

This saves a 'black-ink-profile' with a similar name, which replaces the Dot Gain

    or Gamma settings.

This profile can be interpreted by the ICC profile Inspector (free) program:

Here we have kTRC (shades of black ink reproduction curve), the red line.

With the diagonal black auxiliary, it reads 20% efficient fattening,

    the blue line.

The printer should tell you a representative profile (a good approximation)

    for its actual process.

    Cordially - Gernot Hoffmann
