  I thought it is possible to use masks with html5 canvas and createjs but I can't find documentation on how to do this in Adobe animate. Could someone point me in the right direction for some very basic info on how to start with this? I am the design rather than the English formed code every day would help me ;-)

  It works the same in a canvas document in an AS3 one. You put a form in a single layer, mark the layer mask, then drag your layer in the layer mask.

  Here are two ways:

  After you duplicate the duplicate layer, blur, Alt click on the layer mask icon

  at the bottom of the layers panel. This is a layer mask to hide all (the mask is black)

  Then paint on the layer mask with a white brush.

  

  You can also convert the duplicated to a smart object layer, run the blur on layer

  (what makes a smart filter with a layer mask) and then invert the mask of dynamic filter

  using Ctrl + I (blackens the layer mask) and painting on the smart filter mask with white.

  With a dynamic filter, you can change the blur by double-clicking the name of the filter.

• Blur edge mask

  Is there a way to create a soft edge mask? I tried to create my layer mask, changing to a clip and adding a blur filter. When I create a mask of this, the edge is hard and not blurry. I also tried to create a layer mask which is a linear gradient of 100% to 0% opacity. The same thing happens when I create a mask out of it.

  Ok. After looking for the answer and try different options. I finally understood that. For someone who is having the same problem, here is the answer.

• Using mask for "Zoom in" on the Photo?

  Hi all

  I fight a bit to produce a smooth result for an effect that I am trying to achieve.  I am currently working on a price see the video presentation featuring a variety of photos that I would like to animate.  My main conflict comes when I hide a picture to the size of the mask remains the same, so that the image in the mask is scaling upwards or downwards and maybe moves using the anchor Point to distract from the image.  Another way to describe it is I want to zoom in/out on an image which is constrained by a framework that does not change its size or position.

  A method I've tried is to draw a mask rectangular around the image at the point when he first enters the composition.  This first mask is the exact size of the "frame" I want to preserve.  I then duplicate the image layer/mask, move forward in time on the layer of the original image and animate the scale and perhaps, anchor.  Then using the double image as a guide, I animated the original mask path to match the double size, which is made by the view.  I let the linear keyframes, but can still '; t get it as soon as the mask still seems to grow and then cut again. Take a look at this example below.

  I tried to copy the exact values of the original size of the mask 'framework', but the scale of these values with the layer itself and the framework does not retain its original size.

  I have a feeling, Miss me something perhaps of motorhomes this or parenting, etc.  Can someone point me to a tutorial or tip that can help to smooth this?

  You can make a solid mask, to the size you want and use as a track matte for the image below.  You can then scale the image as you wish, and the size remains the same.

• Need help to make a model using masks (?)

  I have illustrator CS5.  I have a model – a simple white page with holes cut out of it.  This would allow me to add layers behind it and put a different picture in each hole.

  I have created a grid of circles as a layer, and combined them.  I also tried turning them all to outlines.  I tried to make a mask and opacity, as well as a mask with a layer of the white page, but it does not work.  I have read several articles on masks and may not know what I am doing wrong.  I'm relatively new to illustrator with no training, so any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

  OE... Sorry I made a confusion... Forget my first suggestion and try it:

  Create circles and a rectangle above the circles. Now select all forms and go object > is dedicated to the path > make. You will have holes.

  You can also access the forms and use the Pathfinder Panel... Use less frontal key (the second left, right at the top of the Panel).

  I suspect the question has been asked, but I can't seem to find an answer that meets my needs, so if this is a FAQ, please just tell me what exact phrase searching?

  My problem: I want to make B & W of a crowd image, but keep the color on all the yellow shirts.  It's not hard to do on one or two shirts, because you can go and select them manually using a desaturated adjustment layer, but in this case I can not manually select all the yellow shirts that there are simply too many proudly South African football fans .  The enhance-> Adjust color-> replace color almost works, but it changes the selective colors.  I want to change the whole picture except for a selected color.  This isn't its too complicated but I can't seem to find the answer to my question here or on Google.

  If there is a way to get a mask of the "changed" colors of the enhance-> Adjust color-> color replacement function, which may operate as you can then apply the inverse of the same mask change except the red shirts.  Maybe there is a better way...   I'm new to Photoshop (using PS elements 5) but cannot imagine that anyone else has ever had this problem.

  Try this, if it is not much of another yellow in the picture:

  Use the magic wand to select shirts. Clear the adjacent check box and you have to play with the tolerance, but it's doable. Then select > Inverse.

  Layer > new adjustment layer > Hue/Saturation and Desaturate.

  You can give your selection a 1-pixel feather (select > feather) if the edges are not too strong, before making the new layer.

  There are a few things that are not effective in your workflow and your approach.

  Lets talk first about the Illustrator files in After Effects. Firstly, absolutely the only reason you would ever convert a layer to illustrator in a form would be to use animator tools found in the add menu at the top of the shape layer properties in the timeline panel or to animate a Bézier path on this layer. There is no other advantage in converting a vector layer to a shape. NONE.

  Second, if you want to hide an adjustment layer then you can draw the mask directly on the adjustment layer or any layer with transparency, including an illustrator layer, layer photoshop, any hidden layer or layer shape directly on top of the adjustment layer and use this layer with transparency as an Alpha or Alpha reverse cache by approach to the adjustment layer.

  You can use the luminance values of any layer that has no transparency that a luma or reversed hides by luma approach. The white areas offer transparency with luma standard. IOW, if you have a radial with white in the middle and black gradient on the edge and you use a luma matte and white will be transparent on the layer below.

  Standard caches only affects the layer immediately below the source.

  Adjustment effect layers each layer directly under the adjustment layer. Masks and caches can be used to control the effects of an adjustment layer.

  You can also use masks on any layer to control the effect added to this layer if you have a recent version of AE. You will find the option under options to Compositing.

  If you have any layer with transparency or the strong luminance values, you can use Auto Trace to generate a cache for this layer based on transparency or luminance. Any way shape mask or Bézier path can be copied and pasted to another layer.

  We will take your last question now. You should be able to answer. To use any shape you created as a mask, you use this layer as a track matte.

  We will change that approach a bit and assume that you have created a shape layer by using the pen tool or converted an Illustrator layer to a shape. You have a path that you can be found by selecting the shape layer and by pressing twice the key U. find the path you want to copy, rotate options path to reveal animation controls and to set a single keyframe and then copy (Ctrl/Cmnd + c). Even of the forms created with parametric tools like star, ellipse, rectangle can be converted into a path by right-clicking the shape and selecting convert to paths. When you have copied the path put you on the layer where you want to paste the path, select the pen tool to begin to draw a mask, click anywhere on the layer and paste it (ctrl/cmnd + v) and that you have created the mask. This works for forms and masks on any layer.

  Here's a bet to keep everything by copying and pasting masks. The size and position of a path is calculated from the center of the layer and has no relationship to scaling, rotating, or the position of the layer. If you drew a mask on a layer that is resized to 50% and moved to the top right of the comp and rotated 45 ° and then paste this path to any other layer you will NOT get a path in the same position and the same size as the layer sampled in the model.   The difference between the code I posted, and what you have here, is that you apply the mask and blur to form, while I applied the blur to the shape and the mask to a container of the form is inside. It is because for a given object, filters are applied AFTER all masking, but you want the opposite. The only way to control the order in which I don't know if it is to create more layers.

  In other words, change the last code you have posted like this:

  1. create a container for the form:

  var container:Sprite = new Sprite();
  

  2 Add the shape to the container:

  container.addChild(shape);
  

  3. apply the blur on the form and the mask to the container:

  shape.filters = [blur];
  container.mask = block;
  

  3 trace the container for the bitmap:

  bitmap.bitmapData.draw(container);

• Windows Live Photo Gallery does not use default printer

  When I print from Windows Live Photo Gallery it always by the incorrect printer default.  By default, it uses the fax printer.  All other characters to the right printer progames be default.  And under priners Control Panel, it shows the green check mark on the printer default right.  If I change to a photo printer, it prints very well.  But then the next image always defaults to the fax printer.  I use Vista 32 bit.  The version of Windows Live Photo Gallery is 14.0.8064.206.  The printer is a HP C7180.  And I have the latest version of the driver.

  Is there a way to get Windows Live Photo Gallery to use the default printer? Thanks for your help. Harry Karr

  I think that the part Ne03 refers to a network or shared printer that is connected to your machine.  For what it's worth, I have this entry in my registry.

  HP Photosmart C4380 series, winspool, Ne02: so your entry (to me) seems pretty good.

  Have you clicked on your HP printer and select the option "Run As Administrator" / Properties / Security and checked permissions, such that manage printers, records management, to ensure that everything is all right in there?

  As Lina said, v9.1 FP4 included improved functionality of mask.

  Since this update of the package, you should be able to specify field filter to allow only alphanumeric applying the filter «*» I checked in our v.9.1.7, symbol of space will be not be allowed using this mask.
