GBM-1200 a - gateway to broadband wireless PA3175E-1ETC

Is there a way to upgrade this Modem ADSL WiFi 11b to 54g router?

Is there no firmware update available, because I can't find any support at all on the Toshiba site.

Thank you

Hello

AFAIK firmware will be used for the improvement of certain technical characteristics, but not for technical upgrading. In my opinion there must be changes some hardware component upgrade for another standard. If you wish, you can contact the Service partner and ask them if there is a solution available.

    Hello:

You need this driver for the base system device.

You can try the Vista driver for the card broad band.  There are no Windows 7 drivers for it.

If the Vista driver does not work, you can see if this driver windows 7 works. I don't know whether the pilot includes your model too or if it's just for the 2400.  This driver appears on the history tab of revision for the HP ev2210.

  • GBM-1200 has parameters with A0L ADSL broadband

Hi, I wonder if anyone knew the parameters of the WBG-1200 a for AOL.
AOL is very useless and they won't give away customer reviews on the implementation of a wireless connection unless they bought two specific products they advertise. They can only give basic advice for customers who do not buy it specified product and the basic advice I received was contradictory.

I was told that I need the PPoA configuration and then told me that I needed PPOE. Is anyone know what are the settings are correct for fashion, a Simple configuration and everywhere where I might need to know.

My OS is Windows XP Professional and my PC if this is useful is a Satellite Pro 6100 model that has integrated LAN Mini PCI card already.

    Thank you

    Hello

I unfortunately can't explain exactly how you can configure your WBG-1200 has because he is unknown to me. At home, I use the PPPoE protocol. In this case the IP address will be automatically assigned by the ISP (Internet Service Provider). It is very important that under Protocol Properties Internet IP address must be the value automatically.
The explanation, which you will find under http://www.finepointnetworks.com/research/pppoe/.

All other parameters are specific ISP.

  • Satellite M30 - impossible to use broadband wireless sky - WPA not suppprted

    Hello

I have laptop Satellite M30 and I can't use wireless broadband from sky as it says: "your network adapter does not support WPA" what should I do?

    Prasad

The error message "your network adapter does not support WPA" says it all!

The wireless network card installed in the M30 does not support encryption WPA WLan.

To resolve this problem, you can buy and wireless network card that would support this WLan encryption.

I think the easiest would be the use of external USB WLAN which supports the WPA!

  • GBM-1200 - lost documentation

I still have the address to access the modem, but then I wonder for the user id and the password I have more. Can someone help me with this (installation manual, first time user id and password)?
    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry, but I think you should communicate with the support of manufacturing of WLan router and not users of Toshiba.
I put t know if it is possible to remove the router password if you have forgotten this s.
Help maybe reset the default settings, but as I said, the detailed information you should obtain form manufacturing of the router.

PS: I put t know how it is possible to lose the documentation and forget the password.
    For me it s amazing.

    All filters are mounted?

A friend has lost its internet connection and the cause was a sky engineer do more fit a filter. The second engineer of the sky could not understand why a filter was not mounted because it is an easy and is a standard procedure when installing sky! Connection failed after using a Service online store of sky and, possibly, the link between the two has been achieved.

Talk to Sky support as they should solve the problem!

This link shows what looks like a filter

    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/micro-filter-broadband-ADSL-router/DP/B000NPA53Y

Once you got all mounted filters, you may have to reset the router and sky should help with that.

    Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

  • is identical to broadband wireless.

I don't know as much as you can tell. If wireless is not the same thing how we change broadband

    Hi hojo1129,

Wireless is "one" of the ways that your PC can connect to broadband. Broadband itself is provided by your ISP (Internet service provider) and comes down the telephone line or as a packagae by a cable company. You connect your computer to a router via a cable from the router to your PC or wireless. To connect wireless PC needs to have a wireless card installed inside your PC or on a plug in USB dongle.

Before connect you to the internet, you will need to get a connection high speed. Which collect you all this and how much each month it costs depend on the country you live.

  • Wireless printer clashes with broadband wireless connection

I recently bought a C4580 printer that seems to work very well - but every time I turn it on, I lose my internet connection!  The only way to recover is to put off the printer and the power of the cycle on the wireless router.  My router is a D-link ADSL model, about 5 years and may precede the arrival of autonomous wireless printers - this could be the reason?  Before you buy a new router, I would be sure that would solve my problem - any advice would be welcome.

Sometimes the DSL providers have more control over the router like the printer.

-Unplug the phone line from the router
-Cut the power to the router, wait 30 seconds, then turn on the power.
-Go through the normal process of the printer connected to the router.
-Now to find the IP address of the printer (it should be on the self-test printout), type it in a browser.
-On this screen, you will find a tab management network, then on the left wireless, then the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you know what it is, set an IP address outside this range but not exceeding 254 (the last number of the address). If you do not know, use the current IP address.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the white gateway and DNS
-Finally, connect the telephone line, restart the router and the test.

  • Qosmio F20: cannot get broadband wireless

    Hello
I just purchased a Qosmio F20 age of 8 months, and bought a Netgear rangemax wireless router so that I can go wireless. The only problem is, I don't know how!

I bought a wireless card for my old computer (the one that the qosmio replaced) and it was facing up and running in two minutes, so the router is ok, but I don't know how to "go wireless" on an integrated card. I contacted a help forum and they suggested that my wireless card for laptop may not work and to contact toshiba for updated bios?

you tell me how to check and get an update if necessary?

    Thank you!

    Hello

on the Support pages, you will find BIOS-downloads.

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_bios.jsp

It is quite simple to find the BIOS for your model, download and install it.
But it is not necessary to get the Wireless LAN to work.

Since you have the old PC to go online with Wifi, you must have at least basic knowledge how to configure the computer to connect to an existing network.
Please tell us what steps you have taken to implement the F20.

  • Satellite M110: The USB Modem broadband wireless fails to install

    Hi all

    I have a satellite M110 machine under XP SP3.

I've tried two different brands of wireless USB modems. The two installation the corectly modem drivers and Device Manager shows this. However, pilots of Port of Coms do not install. The installation wizard displays the message "driver did not install correctly, Access is denied."

Modem providers cannot explain failure given that the modems will work on my desktop machine (vista) without any questions just plug-and-play so to speak.

    I tried-

    (1) disable all anitvirus programs and firewalls.
    (2) deactivation or deletion of all other modems and internet connections
    (3) update BIOS
    (4) restart completed after all the above steps
    (5) verified all the drivers are the latest and the greatest part up to date.

Returning the status 'out of box' re-loading of windows is not an option I've run a number of programs on my machine that are no longer available in the format that I use in my business. A suggestion was made by a tech Windows registry values are incorrect and are blocking the installation?

You said, that the Wireless USB modem works on your desktop with Vista. Modems supported by Windows XP or Windows XP SP3?
I would like to do a downgrade to SP2.

In addition, I think that the best way would be a reinstall of Windows. If it s not an option, try it on another HARD drive in the laptop.
You don't, so no risk of losing your data.

  • Can I use as a point of access Wireless-G broadband router?

I use a router broadband wireless Netgear as main router to the ground floor and connected to the internet. I connected an access point wireless of LinkSys (WAP54G) as a wireless Repeater. Same SSID however, I turned wide dissemination. My office upstairs, I have wifi internet access very well and remain connected indefinitely. However, shortly after connecting to the Office VPN (off-site), the connection drops-both internet and VPN! I ran a loooong cat5 to the office on the floor and when it is connected to WAN I remains connected to two connections indefinitely. I do not have another AP, but I do not have a router Wireless G (WRT - 54G). Can I use this router as an AP, the same SSID, but I noticed on previous posts I should reactivate broadcast on all devices and change the channel settings. I noticed, when I went into the Setup utility 192.168.1.1, I access my netgear router, how to enter the Linksys router?

    Thank you

    Ken

Nothing beats an AP on the WRT mode. It's just connecting it via the main router LAN port, you can use the access point without going through the router within the WRT component.

You will have to do exactly what I wrote. Don't change anything on the Netgear.

    1. disconnect your network WRT. Wire a single computer to a LAN of the WRT port.

    2. open the web interface of the WRT to http://192.168.1.1/ since the computer you plugged on the WRT.

    3. on the main change WRT configuration page the LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 and disable the DHCP server.

    4. save the settings. Unplug the computer.

    5. wire one of the LAN ports of the WRT to the Netgear. Do not use the internet port of the WRT!

That's all. You don't change anything after that. It is the final configuration. You can now access the web interface Netgear http://192.168.1.1/ and the web interface WRT to http://192.168.1.2/

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem you are facing problem to implement a router broadband wireless. I suggest you to return the article mentioned below and see if it helps you to configure the router.

    Set up a wireless router

Yes, if the router has the available slot so we can connect our computer to the router with Ethernet cable. If you are unable to connect Roku with Ethernet cable, I suggest you to contact your service provider and see what they suggest.
