And these eightforums.com tutorials are very detailed for the problems resulting from Scan SFC:

"How to run the command" SFC/scannow"at the start or in Windows 8 and 8.1" . "

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-Windows-8-a.html

Read it in conjunction with the rest of the information they give link above.

Note

If SFC could not fix something, then run the new command to see if it can be able to next time. Sometimes, it can take by running the sfc/scannow command 3 times restart the PC after each time completely fix everything what he is capable of.

If not, then run the Dism/online/Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command to repair damage to the component store,

Repair-WindowsImage-online - CheckHealth

Repair-WindowsImage-online - ScanHealth

Repair-WindowsImage-online - RestoreHealth

Restart the PC afterwards, and then retry the command sfc/scannow .

If still no, then try using ONE OPTION above to run the command sfc/scannow at the start

If still no, then you could do a Refresh of Windows 8, or run a System Restore using a restore point dated before the wrong file occurred to fix. You may need to repeat doing a restore of the system until you find a restore point that is older that may work.

If not yet, then you can use the steps in the TIP box in the section THREE OPTION to manually replace the files SFC could not fix.

Refresh your PC goes like this:

  • The PC starts in Windows RE (Recovery Eenvironment).
  • Windows RE scans the hard drive for your data, settings, and applications and puts them aside (on the same drive).
  • Windows RE installs a new copy of Windows.
  • Windows RE restores the data, settings, and applications, which it set aside in the newly installed copy of Windows.
  • The PC reboots into the newly installed copy of Windows.

You probably don't want to disable one at a time.  Try groups of 20 or 30 at a time.  I'm not sure you need restart between trials.  Some extensions of the sample I tested were immediately disabled and right click on a file did not show the options for this extension.  It wouldn't surprise me that you will not be able to disable each extension.  Work with those that you can and see if something helps you.  Look in the 'File name' column and suspect that any file that begins with "------" or a drive letter that does not correspond to a hard drive on your system.

If you do not want to use RegScanner, do the same with Regedit.  Run Regedit (start-> Run-> 'regedit'), simple click on 'My Computer' to select it, make an edition-> find, enter your------the field search and click "next".  It stops at the next occurrence.  Press the F3 key to find the one that follows after that.  I think you will find that there are many references to '-', some occurring in places that you probably want to touch.  Unless you know what you're doing, editing the registry can be dangerous.  Always back up the registry first before making any changes.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Windows Explorer crashes on right-click

I received a notification that my drive (d) system was low on space, but when I right click on it in Windows Explorer to see the properties, Explorer crashed and restarted. Other functions seem to be ok - what can be wrong?

Is there another way to view the properties of a disk?

    Hello

We must launch SFC (System File Checker).

System File Checker is a Windows utility that allows users to find corruptions in Windows system files and restore the damaged files. This article describes how run the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to scan your system for files and to repair the system missing or damaged files. If a Protection of resources Windows (WRP) file is missing or is damaged, Windows may not behave as expected. For example, some Windows functions may not work, or Windows may crash.

  • Windows Explorer 7 change modification timestamps of files while selecting

    I have something very weird.

One volume, it is in fact a TrueCrypt container and a hidden, but still: nothing is weird anywhere except in one place where I am browsing of .eml files, which are emails from some backup program.

In fact, copying the files to my regular C: partition changes also modification dates, but that may be a bug in Windows 7 "regularly." I just used RichCopy to copy this 6 000 file folder. If Explorer now would end never read the new directory... so much worse I deleted most of it using a different file Explorer, and now the behaviour is not replicated here.

There is a strange difference between the Explorer on my TrueCrypt volume window and my C: drive, which is also TrueCrypt, just not hidden.

The folder C: shows options records 'Date' 'Modified' and 'Created' as columns, while the hidden volume indicates 'Modified' and 'Created' as an option for the columns, but not the simple "Date." What more, apparently this column 'Date' analysis (or indexed) the contents of the file, because it shows email dates not present in one of these stamps of file. This would explain why the column 'Date' is not present on the other volume, because I think that it is set to Index only the volume of my system. This could also explain why Explorer took several minutes able to read the contents of the folder and has not yet finished before I canceled it.

But that in itself may not be good, because the indexer does not actually cover these locations and each file is scanned in fact.

Then, the reasons for what it is is not known. My tool using alternative (XYplorer) now no longer retains the change dates. At the time wherever the files are copied, they are still correct, but less than a second, I see the date mod change at the present time. And now RichCopy ALSO cannot keep mod-dates. All these volumes are NTFS.

Referencing of: Windows 7 Windows Explorer change suddenly last updated Date of the files attribute

During this time, it does not change the date of any other file I can copy. Since the same volumes. Not for the other files can be analyzed as text, image, audio. It does only to EML. But only for the location, after that I copied the files somewhere else (on the same volume) before I put back the date mod (changing the time system and then do the thing) it will that thing even in this other place. And now to the main location also is more compatible. He will do it is no longer the files I copied elsewhere when the date was a day back. But it always does to any other files.

Maybe my backup tool that created the files just made something weird, I don't know.

This is much like the following article.  Maybe their solution will work for you...

"*.eml timestamp - select the file in Windows Explorer changes the modified Date.

    <>http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/b413258d-08c1-46f8-a7f7-6f0c6c8dd6d6/eml-time-stamp-select-file-in-Windows-Explorer-changes-the-modified-date?Forum=w7itprogeneral >

The columns that you see in a window of the Explorer can be customized (in the Explorer window, press then release the ALT key, then select 'View'-> 'Choose details', or you can set it by choosing a 'type' to the file (right click on the folder-> properties-> customize (tab)-> change "what kind of folder do you want?))  Some will be displayed 'Date', some don't.
