W530 - explorer.exe crashes right vs .exe files.

So when I rightclick a file exoplorer will chrash .exe and restart... started happening since I've switched back to nvidia optimus. earlier, I had it established for discreet graphix in the bios.

I have the original lenovo driver installed, then nvidia's latest update.

can not manually update the intel driver however.

any suggestions? Explorer thinking im crashes due to switchable graphix issue when right a .exe file. What can I do? Reinstall the nvidia driver does not help. I refuse to go back to the old driver because I need it to play BF4.

Thank you!

/ M

OK, that's too funny... Ive been looking for days to find the solution, and once I write here I solve myself...

the problem was contextmenuhandlers.

Regedit > 'HKCR \*\shellex\contextmenuhandlers' here, I found a file for a program called NetID for the identification of secured cards I recently installed... remove the folder and right now works again for .exe files...

Be for google... lock the thread pls.

According to the dump file seems to be the cause of the accident:

    Cannot load C:\Program Files\Shark007\filters\DivXThumbnailProvider.dll, 0n2 error Win32 image

The DivXThumbnailProvider.dll seems to be a component of DivX Plus Media Foundation and, in your case, seems to be a part of the Win7codecs software.

Then you can try what is suggested in the following link:

    http://Shark007.NET/forum/thread-crashed-Windows-Explorer-in-some-folder-s?highlight=Explorer

    Or uninstall the Win7codecs program.

  • Explorer.exe crashes when access to the context menu of any file character 1 long

I use Windows XP SP3 and Explorer keeps if crush when I access the contextual (right click menu) not any folder that is one character long (a - z, 0-9).  For example, the folder labeled a will fail if it contains files or subfolders, if there in any directory, if it is on another drive, on the context menu.  In addition, in order to exclude any invalid context record, I have disabled all non-Microsoft tool ShellMenuView context menus.  I also tried to run Fixit 50043.  I also did a scan antivirus with norton antivirus.  Found nothing, no improvement.  It is 100% compatible.  BTW, I have already run System File Checker, and asides from this problem my system is perfect.  Everyone knows about this problem?  Any ideas on how to fix this problem without having to re - install XP?

This applies only when the folder is labeled 1 character.  I don't know how the visual c ++ runtimes into play with explorer.exe in the context menu.  Re-don't install C++ runtimes for 2005, 2008, 2010 shows no improvement and install it with success.
I get an error in visual c ++ runtime library.

Nevermind, pretty sure winmount was the culprit.  Somehow, he escaped ShellMenuView, I disable the integration of shell of in the program and the turn is played.

  • Media Center 2005 crashed I loaded Windows XP sp2. Installing XP cannot load explorer.exe and another dll file... Need help or information on how to request recovery of microsoft disk MC2005... Gateway has not.

Help please... I have a gateway gt4024 designed with Media Center 2005. Recently, the system was not "acting accordingly so I tried to reload the OS." I realized that I didn't have the recovery disc, then I decided to load XP Professional I had on it. The law on the computer is as it has been installed correctly and then I get a message saying explorer.exe could not be loaded properly or the drive perhaps is corupted and the same message to another .dll file. Once completed, I can reboot and use the computer, but then the windows installer will not work and the drivers are still present on the hard drive. Now, I loaded the new operating system before and I know that pilots are not supposed to be always present on the system. I then put a new hardrive has had the same problem. So, I then took the hardrive and placed in another computer that was be a dell and load xp fine without error. Can someone point me in the right direction. I contacted gateway to another Media Center recoverydisk, but they said because the computer was no longer under warranty, that they did not have the specified disc and to contact Microsoft. A link would be useful.

  • Explorer.exe crashes when opening a folder with mkv files.

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7files/thread/db90c294-05e6-4BBB-9182-a51e55e98349

My problem was the unresolved question (that means third-party programs are not the problem?) so I was wondering how I can fix the problem. For me specifically is not a file of 4 gb, but the files just randomly with mkv in them. I havn't exactly tested to see if it has to deal with the size of the file or not, but I can tell when I open 2 GB files, they work fine. I say this because I can open a file with a mkv which is a little more than 2 GB and explorer.exe not crushed. Here is the info I get from event viewer.

    Hi BlackPhoenix23,

In this thread the poster informed origin as "haali splitter" caused the problem. Looks like some programs non-Microsoft is the origin of the problem. We recommend that you check if a non-Microsoft program is the cause on your computer.

To do this, try the following steps:
    a. open the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
    b. Article, follow "step 1: perform a clean boot" the implementation of these measures will disable all programs not Microsoft currently running on the computer.
    c. restart the computer and check if the problem persists.
    d. If the problem does not persist in the boot, it means that some programs non-Microsoft is the source of the problem.
    e. to find the program that is causing the problem, try "step 2: enable half the services" to "step 6: resolve the problem.
    f. Once you find the culprit, check if there is any updates to update or fixes to the program. If you find, install them and check the difference or reinstall the latest program.
    g. Article, follow "step 7: reset the computer to start as usual.
