Genuine Win Xp renovated does not activate.

Hi all

OK, here's my problem. A few weeks ago I reinstalled my pc (very seedbed) just to know this product key that I was going to my old pc trasmet will not work because it was the key OEM of Fujitsu. Does OK no problems so far. So I bought a new WIN XP disk and enter the new key. But his is not not eligible and I guess that its because windows on the pc has been installed since different media. However I can't clean the pc and start from scratch because I have a LOT of configured print apps here (guys who have put in place are not available at least 3 months). THE QUESTION IS is possible how can I get this key works even if I installed from different CDs? It comes to life or death situation, my small bussiness you will stop in less than 4 days then if I can't activate.

I emphasize that I don't use that software and the two CD of xp, I used is authentic.   Help, please

Even a refurb PC *requires* at least a COA sticker is legal! (refurbishers use a special sticker of COA - see http://www.nused.com/page.php/pageKey=70 )

I see no reason in the report as to why this key must fail activate.

What is the old key or a new?

If it is still the old one, use the product key update tool to change to a new one (after first ensure that you have the old writing somewhere!)

If this is the new, check your system clock, because it can affect to an incorrect schedule/time zone.

  • Am curious to know why XP Pro crashed and reinstall the will does not activate

Have a system that ran XP Pro for a couple of years without problem. Software and license (product key) was purchased online, downloaded and burned to CD. Once installed, OS signals like SP3 XP Pro Version 2002. First installation and activation years was fine. Reinstalling/reactivating later a year later due to a failure of the drive was fine. System had presented a Genuine Advantage test and been patched now with no problems. Last week we had errors saying the OS was not authentic and we could be a victim of a counterfeit. System crashed and when restarting it gets to the login screen, but if the connection is attempted the desktop and in a minute or 2 the system restarts and goes in a loop of reboot, never load the new OS. Start in safe mode gets through the initial steps, but after the start of files loading the system restarts and loops. No configuration of the software/hardware/don't change in recent months and no unusual entry in case do not connect up to 2 days before the accident. No indication of hardware problem and no cases of virus or malware of MS Security Essentials. I tried repair OS, no help. Now have wiped the hard drive and tried to reinstall the operating system (computer, no change) and it will reinstall correctly by using the original product key, but will not activate. Reports as not a valid product key. Activation of the phone I tried and it will activate not there either; reports as invalid product. Considered we could have actually gotten pirated OS, but I'm puzzled why, if the software was fake, the system would work very well for if long including product activation earlier and passes test Genuine Advantage, then suddenly crash, cause errors 'potential infringement' and do not allow for reactivation. Thought at some point, the system has had virus/malware issue, but this does not explain why the relocation after the failure of the drive fails to activate. System critical to the needs of companies and has been replaced so no urgency to correct but I'm very curious to know what might happen. Comments or suggestions would be welcome. Thank you!!

I checked the key used, and here's the information that my tool tells me about the key:
    (1) version of Windows XP Pro MSDN
    (2) is blocked Activation (reason: abuse)
    (3) no Validation blocked
    (4) shows no sign that it is a basic time license (TBL)
    (5) 31 attempts to activation
    (6) 17 total Activations
    (7) first activation on 2010-08-03
    (7) last Activation successful 13/04/2010
    (8) date of the first activation has been blocked 13/01/2011 (note: this is not necessarily the day, the block has been applied, just the first attempt of activation which is refused due to the block)

It is d ' attribute of strangeness between this key and "information" which include the Genuine Advantage you said.

First of all, it's a MSDN license which means that someone can not use the key unless you have an MSDN subscription.

Then, the key is blocked but not blocked Activation Validation.  It's unusual because usually, if an MSDN key is proved have been hacked (sold outside it's allowed) would be blocked the key activation and Validation.

In this particular case, it seems that the key has been blocked because of too many activations Activation (on computers with different hardware ID, which usually means different computers) in a short period of time.

As for the key being a limited time license, which makes no sense.
    (1) I don't see that a MSDN key would be time limited.
    (2) if the key has been blocked due to it having expired, then the reason for the block would be expired are not abusing.
    (3) the key was first activated in March 2010 and the person you talked to said that the key expired a week (i.e. 2011) there. Limited time Licenses are generally used to try before you buy things and I don't know any license based on the time that a period of over one year (16 months to be exact).

I am convinced that the person that you talked to was wrong that this key was a limited time license.

My assessment of the information I have available suggests that the key was actually blocked in 2010 due to excessive activation in a short period of time.  I say this because, shows the history of activation:
    (1) first activation in 08/03/2010
    (2) last activation successful 13/04/2010
    (3) 17 total Activations

This shows that the key has been used 17 times, on 16 different computers, in a little over a period of a month. This does not seem excessive. and strongly suggests that the key has been blocked for this reason, in April 2010. You just didn't notice the block until the end of 2011.

However, even if the current issue was caused probably by a number excessive activations (which can be fixed by asking that the key be unlocked) the real problem comes from the fact that the key is a licensed MSDN.  The permits required that any key from an MSDN subscription (what to do with all the MSDN keys) can be used by the owner of the MSDN subscription. If you do not have the MSDN subscription that come from this key, you are not allowed to use this key.

    Thank you
    Darin

    FIXED.

    !!

Long story short - with the help of a BIOS directly from the manufacturer of mobo watered my pc Windows activation provided by an OEM, because it does not contain my OEM SLIC table.  OEM (Microcenter/PowerSpec) provides the pc with a "tattooed BIOS' so that the OEM SLP license activates.  If microcenter had BIOS available on their website for my model, I never would have gone direct to ASRock in the first place (and I would have been able to fix myself a lot earlier in second place).

(Additional hard disks had nothing to do with it.)

    !!

This is for anyone with the same issue.

The last person who actually any help was the guy from support at Microcenter (which makes PowerSpec pcs brand) email and chat.  My answer by e-mail and through him (not Andre) is pasted below.  All relevant information is there.

OK so maybe I was not so familiar with the new Manager technical Windows activation licenses, technology and terminology at the beginning, but of course I got an education on all of it.  Sorry for all the hiking, but I hope all the details to help others.

Start pasting the response by e-mail to Microcenter here:

    +++++++++++++++++++++

    Thank you for your help.
I solved my problem on my own.  (My problem is that Windows had become disabled and he wouldn't reactivate.)

I'll tell you what I've done in detail more away, but to shorten a long history, if we could have a BIOS provided by Microcenter/PowerSpec, it would have been set.

Although the information on the link (http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/10950-howto-Enable-the-quot-activate-by-phone-quot-option) you have provided me helped me to get Windows to generate the Installation ID of 54 numbers required by the operator to activate phone, the operator says that my number is not correct, or not able to produce an activation.  He went up to tell me that my copy of Windows was probably wrong, and even if this is not the process of false statement would eventually lead the OEM to rectify my situation.  Looked like BS to me, but I must admit I was desperate and I only started the process.  However, I received an email on the next steps that included to Microsoft Windows installation (with no possibility for their return) disc, and I gave up this process.

Which leads me to my solution were other threads at http://forums.mydigitallife.info/.
It turns out that my SLIC table was blown as indicated in the output of MGADiag.exe ("' BIOS valid for OA 2.0: Yes, but no SLIC table '").  It must have happened when I installed a new downloaded BIOS from ASRock (motherboard) site.  Without the SLIC table, Windows would not be triggered.  (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SLIC_table#SLIC).

Fortunately for me, I had an another PowerSpec pc at home and was so able to use tools referenced in other threads threads at http://forums.mydigitallife.info/ to make a dump of his table SLIC 374 bytes, save it and then "tattoo" the own ASRock BIOS with SLIC table and reinstall.  The process is not for the heart hearts and is widely used to activate the illegal installations of Windows.  The tools to do this have been quarantined by Norton Antivirus, but I was able to restore and create exceptions for them.

When we were on the phone, we had suspected that get a BIOS from microcenter/PowerSpec would probably fix me, but you had no way to get a.  There is no BIOS available on your Web sites, and you do not have to send me.  The reason why I installed a new BIOS has been first place because the version of the box was real old - version 1.x (don't remember exactly) compared to the current 2.7.  If you do not have the current versions of BIOS PowerSpec-tattooed, you must at least have the old versions available.  A lot of people will do what I did because they want a BIOS update.  Then, they will have to revert to an old version again to reactivate.

When you asked your people how correct me, you were told that I have to take the pc to a store of the microcenter so that they can re - insert the SLIC table.  Although I realize now, all this means is a tattooed by the OEM BIOS, so that the OEM Activation automatic system works (OA 2.0 I think).  Store all they did is install a BIOS PowerSpec-tattooed appropriate.  I should be able to download it to me or you should be able to send me a.

I had saved my Windows product key originally using a VB script provided by Microsoft before the upgrade of the thought of my BIOS, it's everything I need.  I didn't know that there are no stickers COST more.  It turns out that the product key is an OEM key (sort of a volume key) and not a unique key.  It is known as a SLP (System Locked Pre-installation) license key.  Attempt to 'Enter a different product key' did not work with my product key real because OEM SLP keys HAVE even triggered by using the BIOS SLIC-tattooed OEM (and other factors for example a certificate).  You can not force the activation over the internet without a corresponding valid SLIC table (the error will mean key invalid or already in use) and the activation of the phone does not work either.  That's why the phone option - enable is not present on the OEM SLP installations when you do 'slui 4.  As far as I can tell (I may be wrong on this), a pc OEM SLP license seems triggered without the need for connection (internet or phone).  If he never 'phone home' it will probably only to point out that it is already enabled.

A symptom to look for in the future with other customers: when the pc was new out-of-the-box, the BIOS flashed a PowerSpec logo during start-up.  After the flash of own BIOS non-PowerSpec-tattooed ASRock, the logo was ASRock.  After restoring the SLIC table in BIOS (tattoo), PowerSpec logo was back.

I hope that all this hike detail will help you and future customers.

I want to reiterate that have the BIOS available on your Web site would let me (US) more quickly resolve my problem.

  • Satellite Pro M30 Win 7 - webcam does not work on msn messenger

    Hi all

I have a Satellite Pro M30 Modell Nr.: PSM35E and just changed to Windows 7. But put him Nvidia card NVIDIA GeForceTM FX Go5200 Grafik 64 MB of RAM is not working properly.

I could find a Vista driver and installed, have Aero + photos on the desktop, but my webcam does not work on msn messenger and this is the only way for me to see my family.

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

I m a bit confused; you have some problems with the graphics card or with the webcam?

I assume you mean on external webcam connected to the USB port? Right?
What happens if you connect the webcam to the laptop? Can win 7 recognize the device? Have you installed additional drivers for this webcam?
Most of the time it s necessary to do so because I think that it s not Plug & Play device.

  • Drive HARD Win 7 recovery does not work on Satellite L750

    Hello

I have the Toshiba Satellite L750 with preinstaled win 7.

I instaled the upgrade to win 8 (from dvd).

After that I improve the MS site to Win 8.1 System.

The system does not work properly (DVD is not recognized) so I have to install previuos system.

First of all, I'm improving my BIOS for the new one - 3.60.

After that I try to win 7 reinstal my HDD recovery (which is located on the d partition). But it does not work: it has been impossible to start recovering in the menu of the bios (F8 key does not work, it was only possible to press F2 or F12).

So I have to install my dvd 8.0 Win and now I have it and it works. But this is only a clear system without any addons like nero, ms office etc.

My question is how do reinstal win 7 of my hard drive recovery that I always on the d partition?
in the bios the F8 key does not work.

After clean OS installation installation of HARD drive recovery not working anymore. If you want to have the original image of recovery preinstalled on your machine, you must use recovery DVDs.
I assume that you did not create this disc, right?

In the user s manuals document clearly described how it works with the image recovery and the creation of recovery disks.

  • win xp sp2 does not stop

I have a laptop running win xp sp2 - for 6 years never had a problem - have avg 2012 and recently did avg can - but the computer does not stop and I didn't hold down the Start button - what is sp2 that is the problem? -If so, how do I get/install sp3? I'm not a whiz hardward.

Did you go to the Microsoft Update site? SP3 should be available and should have offered for a long time if you are automatic updates.

  • Win 7 guest does not search the environment variable PATH for executable

    Win 7 Home Premium - cmd.exe - (high - run as administrator)
Command prompt can't find the executable files that are clearly in the PATH variable
For example, the netstat.exe program is located in the system32 folder, but when I type in the command window, it says:
'netstat.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command
    operable program or batch file.
But when I give it full, c:\windows\system32\netstat.exe path, the command runs correctly.
Here is the PATH variable that returns the command window:
    Path=%SystemRoot%\System32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SystemRoot%\
    System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\; C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\; C:\Program
    Common Files Files\GTK\2.0\bin

You can clearly see that %SystemRoot%\system32 is there, and Yes, SystemRoot is c:\windows

That is the only .exe this command prompt does not open properly?

Have you tried with another user account? Any change?

    Could be malware (?)

  • Win 8 laptop does not not, freezing and sometimes will not recognize boot device.

    Back story:
A friend asked me to look at their laptop, because it was very slow and has frozen all the time. a quick inspection, I noticed a few things. After starting windows 8 (not 8.1) the processor turned to 99% of the max. Which may explain the slow down and freezing. She was loaded with adware.

I backed up his photos and important files used then option factory reset to win 8. After the reset, I have named his computer, gave him a user name and password, then came to mean something in the sense of "configure user settings do not turn off computer. This screen has taken a lot of time and would sometimes change color. I let him do his thing at night. Morning came, and he seemed to have frozen on this screen. I turned it works.

    Current problem:

Usually when it is powered on it will say there is no bootable media.

Sometimes, when his engine, windows starts and I can enter a username and pass and sign... However, as the mouse moves, I can click on anything whatsoever. The touchscreen does not work. Its more of a shell of a BONE.

One of my tech friends think that the hard drive is running out. I don't think that this is the case and wanted a second opinion. IM thinking the error over the whole upward is the problem. I don't have a recovery disk. Is there a file I can put on a flash drive and use it to repair or reinstall Win 8?

    Related issue:

Its battery is completely shot (don't hold a charge at all) and I can't seem to find a new replacement battery

I put a repair of windows on a USB tool. Pluged that it active on the computer. He acknowledged the corruption of files, fixed and allowed me to put back correctly.

Thanks for trying, even if I felt that my question was not being read correctly.

2 of my tech friends says he can be the hard drive failure. This was not the case either.

The laptop has a corrupt windows file that was causing problems. zero second release fixed this problem. Now the laptop worked well without any problems for 24 hours.

    This case is closed.
