EXEMPLO, tenho VMs clothing wave passed criadas e muito depois added discos em outros data warehouses, com isso preciso saber is our data are free os discos, OU can I eliminate elas sendo warehouses.

  • Performance of BI with warehouse data or data warehouse.

    Hi gurus,

Anyone here have a document or presentation to compare a BI performance which is implemented with the warehouse database or data warehouse?

    Appreciate your help :)

You need to come to a conclusion of performance tests.

    The query can also have different points of view;

1 compare the performance on obtaining data directly from the source systems against obtaining data accumulated in a single database.
    2. by comparing the performance on obtaining data from a standard model against data from a dimensional model.

In most cases; getting data from data warehouses should give better performance since then.
Data warehouses allocate more resources toward BI systems.
Source systems serve much purpose other than BI systems; If resources are shared.
In a data warehouse for data sets are already in the same place, reducing the latency of the network.
    Data warehouse stores summary information.
Data warehouses are implemented with three-dimensional models which serves best for the BI queries.

  • Need ideas for compare current Oracle EBS data against the data warehouse to establish data matches course.

Hello, I am new to the Oracle Forum. I'm a BI developer and I need to compare data Oracle EBS in my organization with the data in the data warehouse to make sure they match. I am using Informatica for this process by pulling the two sources and comparing. Can someone give me a brief example to make this process or similar methods with Informatica and its transformations so that it can be useful. Thanks in advance. Let me know if you need more information about the process.

Looks like you are trying to make a reconciliation process? That is you can have implemented BIAPPS (or something custom) and now I want to check your ETL? If this is the case then it's good enough for a test case - we usually start with senior level (actual numbers for each group of companies, for example), then a subset of other different queries for example as per a level in the hierarchy of the org, by position, dates etc.

We'll implement Hyperion Planning 11.1.2 and we intend having the data warehouse, pushing the budget data for Hyperion Planning and have push Hyperion and retrieve data in Essbase.  It is, has she a sense also push and pull data from essbase in the data warehouse? To make it more clear, we take the budget data from the data warehouse, and he will push to Hyperion Planning.  Budgetary data provided will be also pushed Essbase data warehouse.  Hyperion Planning will then do the what if analysis and then push back to essbase with essbase here will push the hypothetical scenarios back to the manipulated data warehouse.

  • How to see 5 pools do not VM disks on data warehouses?

Hello.  I am new to view.  I just started a new job where they have a 5 view with more than 1,000 Linked Clone VM VDI environment.

There are warehouses of data 3fc which each have about 400 GB of free space by showing in the view tab in vCenter server administrator.  Asked me to create a new pool with 15 virtual machines.  Each VM will require about 35 GB of total disk space (disposable, internal, swap disk and vm).  Therefore, approximately 525 GB of disk space for the virtual machines.

I know that the amount of disk space required for the virtual machines is too big to fit on one of the data stores.  See split sort virtual machines in three warehouses of data?  If so, how composer decides what data stores to put the virtual disks of each virtual computer on?

    Thanks for your help!

It has to work this way, you have selected all three data warehouses when you configure the pool.   If this isn't the case, you will need to go back and change the settings of the pool to include data warehouses before starting commissioning.

  • In need of a script to the inventory of the virtual computer on data warehouses

I analyzed vCheck by www.virtu-al.net. Great script and I can learn a lot of information that I need. However, I am a newbie to script and is looking to add a piece that I need inventory of data warehouses.

    That's what I need:

I need an inventory of VMS on each cluster and have it store data that they are on a report. It would happen every night and I would be delighted if it had exported to a html file which can be downloaded to an internal wiki. I love the output html of the vCheck tool and would like to add this piece to the tool, so that it is brought to the same html file.

Does anyone know if there is a script that will help me to do?

    Thank you!

No problem, happy, I can help you

This will include the ESXi host.

To sort the list, we have everything first to grasp objects in an array and then sort.

    $result = @()
    foreach ($Cluster in $Clusters){
       $result += (Get-VM -Location $Cluster | Get-HardDisk |
       Select @{N="Cluster";E={$cluster.Name}},

         @{N="VM";E={$_.Parent.Name}},
       @{N="Datastore";E={$_.Filename.Split(']')[0].TrimStart('[')}})
    }

  • Internal data warehouses DMZ hosts?

    Hi all

I hope I'm posting in the right section, and this makes sense.

We currently manage two groups separated, managed by vcenter.  One for all our internal servers and one for our DMZ servers.  We have our guests DMZ nic 1 and nic 2 combined for the console, vmkernel, and data warehouses.  Two of these network adapters are connected to our internal network.  We then nic 3 dmz1 and nic 4 on dmz2.  Each set of network interface cards is assigned its own vswitch.

Data warehouses for all customers of vm on the DMZ cluster are NFS targets on our internal network of san. Each guest virtual machine is only affected 1 network card with access to it's special DMZ.

My question is about safety.  We have been operating this way for awhile, but my networks/security guy is concerned that in some way, the virtual machine can be hacked to access all the cards that are connected to the host, or the virtual machine can be hacked and someone might potentially have access to in-house on our SAN data.

What are the best practices for this scenario?  Should I currently have security vulnerabilities?  Assuming that this configuration is ok, can I give my guy from network to facilitate his concern for information?

    Our san is a Netapp.

Edit: misspelling of nic4 for dmz2

    Hi SLCSam

The way I understand how ESXi handles this (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

Is that ESXi handles all the traffic of independent disk of the virtual machine.

That's why the only VM knows how to send SCSI comarnds to her hyperviser who then rewrote the comarnds and sends it to the virtual disk files.

This is why each VM has access to its own virtual disk and nothing else on the data store.

So if one of the VMS is hacked, data on this virtual machine will be on display, but that's all.

The virtual machines that are running on these clusters are all independent computing environments. And do not have access to each of the other files.

Consider as turning several independent servers. It cannot write to other discs except via CIFS or similar.

From what you wrote, you have nic1 and nic2 as a trunk serving admin. and drive networks

You have 2 different DMZ then nic3 and nic2

Nic2 therefore seems to be linked to the network disk in the DMZ.

It is a major problem. Since then, if one of the virtual machines in the DMZ is compromised, VM said could speak to the SAN via NFS (since they are on the same layer 2 network) and this will expose the hard for other virtual machines (possibly internal) files.

This assumes that there no VLAN involved. Because if the DMZ and the disc of the net are on different VLANS this problem does not occur.

If it is typo and the network admin and the drive is on nic0 and nic1 or there is configuration of VLANS to separate the traffic of layer 2, then there is no problem with this Setup, even if a virtual DMZ computer is hacked.

  • remove the new HBA analysis when creating data warehouses?

I created a script to create multiple data warehouses (100 +), but notices after each one is created, it triggers a new analysis of all the HBAS the LUNS is announced to the.

It is; This new analysis can hold until all data stores have been created, then just scan once at the end?

example line of code to the ctreation store:

The new analysis is actually performed by vCenter, you could follow Duncans post for this disable manually or you can add a line to your script that adds the parameter disable the Rescan and then change it back after...

  • List VMFS version and block size of all data warehouses

I'm looking for a PowerShell script (or preferably one-liner) list all with version number data warehouses there VMFS and their blocksizes.

I am a novice PowerShell and ViToolkit, but I know how to do the following:

I can list all data stores that begin with a specific name and sort by alphabetical order:

    Get-Datastore-name eva * | Sorting

    Name FreeSpaceMB CapacityMB

    EVA01VMFS01 511744 81552

    511178 511744 EVA01VMFS02

    511744 155143 EVA01VMFS03

    EVA01VMFS04 511744 76301

    301781 511744 EVA01VMFS05

    etc...

I can get the Info for a specific data store with the following commands:

    $objDataStore = get-Datastore-name 'EVA01VMFS01 '.

    $objDataStore | Format-List

    DatacenterId: Data center-data center-21

    ParentFolderId: File-group-s24

    DatastoreBrowserPath: vmstores:\vCenter-test.local@443\DataCenter\EVA01VMFS01

    CapacityMB: 511744

    Accessible: true

    Type: VMFS

    ID: Datastore-datastore-330

    Name: EVA01VMFS01

But that's all as far as my knowledge goes.

Someone out there who could help me with this one?

This information is not available in the default properties of the DatastoreImpl object.

But this information is available in the SDK object called a data store.

You can view these values like this.

    Get-Datastore | Get-View | Select-Object Name,
                                        @{N="VMFS version";E={$_.Info.Vmfs.Version}},
                                        @{N="BlocksizeMB";E={$_.Info.Vmfs.BlockSizeMB}}

If you are using PowerCLI 4.1, you can check with

    Get-PowerCLIVersion

Then, you can use the New-VIProperty cmdlet.

    Something like that

New-VIProperty -Name VMFSVersion -ObjectType Datastore `
         -Value {
              param($ds)

              $ds.ExtensionData.Info.Vmfs.Version
         } `
         -BasedONextensionProperty 'Info' `

  • Host does not see some data warehouses

I add a new host in a cluster of ESX 4.  ISCSI Storage Adapter on all hosts (old and new) detects all available Lun, 10 in total.  However, 2 of the LUNS appear not in the list of data stores in the new host.  Thus, guests see 10 stores of data.  Guests are running live virtual machines that reside on the 2 "missing" data warehouses.  The new host sees only 8 of the 10 stores of data.

It could be due to various reasons:

    1. lost on the host partition table.  Check with fdisk-lu < devname >

2 LUNS can be detected as snapshot.  -> esxcfg-volumes - l should show snapshot volumes.

    esxcfg-volumes - M < Datastore UUID >

This will force up the volume.

    to refresh the storage.

then if all goes well, you should be good to go.

  • Share data warehouses between clustered hosts

Hello, we had initially a cluster of ESX consisting of two guests who had shared access to different VMFS LUNS on an iSCSI SAN.

Recently we bought an additional server, and additional storage and we have some problems to get the extra VMFS LUNs to be recognized by all hosts. The additional LUN is recognized by all hosts after a new analysis to Configuration-> storage adapters, but it seems that data warehouses can be added only for the storage of an individual host and not shared by the cluster?

Adding the extra VMFS LUNS to a host works very well but they are not immediately recognized by the other guests and whenever you try to add data to them warehouses they insists on formatting the LUN and treating it essentially as a data store different.

Since there is no problem sharing data between hosts warehouses in the original configuration, I wonder what setting it is necessary to enable sharing between all hosts in a cluster of data store? Thanks in advance!

Probably, you have LUNS in different ways for each ESX Server (or the new ESX). If any information logical unit number (Lun ID, wwwn, etc.) is not the same for all ESX host tend to view this as a snapshot LUN.

If you can't find what's going on, you can try a workaround (not too recommended but should work in your environment): go to the ESX configuration tab, click Advanced settings, and look for LVM. DisallowSnapshotLun option under LVM. Change it to 0, click OK and perform a new analysis. Repeat this for all of your guests.

Please let us know if it works.

  • Sync data warehouses on hosts

    Hello

I'm trying to write a script that will add some data warehouses NFS missing on a specific host that is present on another specified host and I'm unable to find the correct variables from Get-data store. In the foreach loop in the warehouses of data on the source host, can I use $_. Name, but I also need to NFS mount point and name server. I tried to find out what Get-Datastore returns effectively with Get-Member, but it seems that the object contains only six properties and none of them point to where is the NFS file system. Is there any command integrated to present the entire object and its properties to the screen to know these things?

    Thanks in advance!

    Daniel

    Hi Daniel!

You can get more information to view the NFS datastore objects using. Here is an example:

    > $nfsDSView = get-VMHost-name

$nfsDSView.Info.Nas.RemoteHost and $nfsDSView.Info.Nas.RemotePath are the NFS mount the values you need
