  It is also possible that the d3dx9_34.dll was corrupted. In this case, you will need to use full DirectX

  Well, I had finally sorted out it the problem for me was obviously Visual Studio C++ 2015 and when you try to reinstall I kept getting this error massage

  

  So decided to start in safe mode and try reinstalling Visual Studio C++ to 2015 and it work, re-installed, rebooted the PC and PS CC2015.5 now opens very well. So, if anyone has this problem, I hope this will help you!

  can anyone help with a xlive.dll is missing error, I installed darksouls for pc & when I try to run the game I get this error, I tried to install the .exe m/s client, but it does not work with error code 0 x 80070005 install, I tried this many times with the same result every time.

  I was looking in the GFWL installation folder and noticed dotNETFx40 of installation.   Win7 comes with
  .NET 3.5, so if GFWL has not already installed .NET 4 can do it manually.
  I uninstalled. Net3.5 and manually updated for .NET 4 a year ago. After installing .NET 4 there should be some Windows Update for it as well.
  I currently have. Net4 customer and 'Extended' (I think that 'Extended' might have been a updates).

  qWAVE.dll (without the "s32") is a legitimate file for Vista and Windows 7 but not XP.

  Searches on Google for "qwaves32.dll" and "netdolst.dll" increase only highly questionable links.

  Once you find the line with the file in question, either "delete" or (if you want to be safer) uncheck the box.  The latter prevents the line running, but you can reactivate it later by removing the check mark.

  wkscli.dll is the Workstation Client DLL.  It is part of the operating system.  If you have the win 7 dvd you can boot from it and do a repair installation to reinstall the missing DLL

  First up you don't have to bother running it in compatibility mode, you don't need to.  Just install DirectX or install it from the disc of Civ 4. Paul Smith - MVP for Windows desktop experience...
