Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

In order to help you better, please provide us with the following information:
(1) what anti-virus software do you use on your computer?
(2) what virus software detector you trying to install?

The programs you want are third-party programs. We have not the slightest idea whether or not they are legitimate.

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?

    Hi KevinRy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Unplug all external devices.

Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:

    1.

Right-click my computerand then click Properties.

    2.

    Click the Advanced tab.

    3.

Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.

    4.

Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.

    5.

Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.

Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.

Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.

    Kind regards

    HI Paul,.

I think that your first priority will be to remove the virus from your laptop. The following link contains the virus details: -.

    http://securityresponse.Symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/W32.Desktophijack.html

You are shown in the BIOS to CD-ROM? If yes then set to be the first selectable boot device and you should be able to load your recovery disk and restart it.

  • I get a BSOD ntkrnlpa on the computer.

SP2 of Windows Vista (Home Basic)
    1 GB OF RAM

This problem started a week ago:

Whenever I start my PC, it starts in Windows, but before Windows can load entirely, it blue screens and restarting the computer, on this second attempt charges Windows and everything is very well throughout the day.  Until I restart the PC the next day and she does it all again.

"BlueScreenView" told me that the accident was caused by the driver "ntkrnlpa.exe". "Whocrashed" informs me that "recdisc.exe" caused the crash. From reading the forums, these applications are being flouted on.

A little additional info, which may or may not be important.  If Windows does not start, there is a dialog box that is minimized, "loggingsapplication" was able to start. I close. I recently started using FireFox (about 1 week before the BSOD began), and so I updated all the plugins/addons for Firefox latest versions.  Other have no software installed or uninstalled at the month. I am fully updated.

I backed up all my important data just in case one day a BSOD appears and the PC crashes for good, I hope not because I can't afford a new one so soon.

    Thank you.

Two of them point to the AVG program (but are different flaws). It is not conclusive.

Try to update avg or changing to Microsoft Security Essentials (has the reputation of problematic use of free like AVG used to have).

We continue receiving phone calls of MDI Tech and creative solutions, telling us that they're Microsoft and we need to buy their product to get rid of a serious computer virus.  Are they really related to Microsoft?

They are * not * associated with Microsoft.

This is a scam and that is becoming more and more common lately. But even worse, if you let them into your computer, who knows what damage they did here or what confidential information they stole.

So, if you did. I highly recommend that you do both of the following immediately:

1 do a clean reinstall of Windows.

    2. change all your passwords, especially all of banks or other financial sites.

So that means my Internet Security detected on the Flash drive? Or on my hard drive?

    Hello

If j is a Flash drive which is where the malware was found. Use the below to check the
Key USB and hard drive for malware.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect as the
    cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run

  • How to remove virus from the computer?

    I can't update my windows...

    I can't update my windows...

more than an update icon in the toolbar

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner. Delete everything is found.

    Reset.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in. Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.) You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory. This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

  • Had a virus on the computer, deleted, now I have problems with the homegroup and DSN

    Cause of my current problem:

2 weeks ago, I found that my computer has a virus. He removed the BFE service, firewall Windows, Windows Defender, blocked my anti-virus (Trend Micro), cut other security services... he pretty well blocked, deleted or close all my computer security programs.

I was able to fix, but my computer did not work in the same way.

I was able to return back BFE and Windows Firewall, turn on other security services and get up my antivirus and running. 2 weeks later my antivirus deleted 9 virus and thousand and something web threats.

    Now to my current problem:

I was able to establish the homegroup on my computer, but when I check the files that I want to share, Save custom settings, same when I go to a folder and select 'share with homegroup' manually

When I hit Homegroup troubleshooting need to network troubleshooting and I end up getting this error "your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding"

I tried following this threat: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/erroryour-computer-appears-to-be-correctly/aeb7b5df-55ac-456e-aba3-96f9d90898d6

Did not work. I tried reseting my router and modem but nothing. I can't first homegroup to work if I does not resolve the DNS.

This problem is probably due to the fact that the virus tried to redirect my DSN to computer hackers, but

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    modem: Motorola MIPDSLA

    Router: Cisco Linksys E1000

any other information needed on my computer please let me know

Sorry for this post is really long, I tried to summarize as much as I could

I thank all those who took the time to re-read this threat and decided to help me.

Although there is a small chance, you may be able to fix this on a service by service method, it is may be easier (and faster) to do a clean install.

I would also mention that if you got a virus to trend was obviously not a very good job of protecting you.  May want to rethink the installation of malicious software program.
