I have a macbook air and a message comes up saying that my boot drive is almost full and delete files to make more space. What files and where? Thank you.

Buy an external hard drive if you do not already have one and migrate personal files, things like documents, music, photos, videos, stuff like that.  Once they are on the external hard drive, delete them from your computer.  You would remove them the same way you would remove any other thing - click it, right-click, select "Move to trash."  Delete nothing however, until you have moved to an external drive.  If you don't save a copy somewhere, once you remove them, it's over and you can't get it back.

To understand what that other things that can be deleted are go up --> about this Mac--> storage.  This will tell you how many you have on your hard drive right now.  Post here a screenshot of it.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 uses old deleted files: How can I get rid of them?

    Hello world

This is my first post... I have a problem which is really annoying. Using Dreamweaver CS6 on desktop Win 7-64 bit, I had outside assistance to transfer a website in html5 and CSS3. When the site was almost finished, I have imported the entire site and worked on it by myself using Dreamweaver CS6. This worked well, until I again had outside help in the index.html file. I imported the new index.html file which worked on the outside, but dreamweaver does not allow this: he continues to show the old index.html file that I had deleted before, even when I try to re - import the site etc. The web, I found that it might be useful to delete the history of files using regedit. I did and also tried my best remove every vestige of the old version, aftzer, used CCleaner and Tuneup Utilities 2014, and even once, it did not help. I thought then that the only way would be for installing Dreamweaver CS6, still clean my computer to any what rest probably filed or files .bak and then after several raises and processes of cleaning, I have re-installed Dreamweaver CS6, in the hope that it works now. However, new Dreamweaver came up with the same problem. Somewhere in the mists of your hard drive, dramweaver must always have access to the long deleted files and even once does not allow me to work on the new corrected index.html file. Anyone of you have any idea how I can get this working properly? Thank you so much in advance and greetings from the Lake District Salzburg, Giraldus

    Mr Hans-Günter,

    Dear all,

I have a solution: I open the file 'wrong', completely leached all the HTML and JavaScript, open the actual file with firefox, then copied the code from here and pasted in the now empty index.html file. Then, I stored this one and now it works and the old .bak? copy has disappeared!

Thanks to you, dear Hans-Gungter, and all who could probably thought about my problem with Dreamweaver.

and the best of Salzburg Lake District,

    Giraldus

  • Synchronize the names wrong gets to delete files remotely

Synchronize has a checkbox option "delete files remotely not on the local server", but this won't work for me.

Sync overview lists the correct files, EXCEPT the first letter of each file name or folder is missing. For example, "index2.html" is indicated as "ndex2.html".

because of this bug, none of the files are deleted from the server. (DW CS3, all the updates applied, Mactel 10.5.2)

I'm surprised that I don't see that this problem reported elsewhere... so maybe there are some settings that making ruin for me?

Downloads work fine. Do not know download - not yet tested.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you
    Karl

I had the same problem and found a solution. In the "host directory"field of the setup of the Site Info to the definition/Remote, which was initially empty, I entered"... /" (without the quotes). That solved the problem. I tried to change it back a couple of times and verified than just that one change caused the "remove Synchronize missing first letter bug" to come and go.

The idea that the problem had something to do with the host directory entry came after an assignment 'Big Frank' 2002 (link below) in which he solved his problem by removing one / of the same box. In my case, the bug appeared when I switched to using a main FTP account that had access to a lot of Web sites on the same server, to a sub - FTP account that could only access the folder associated with a Web site. Sync perfectly worked when I used the main FTP account and was something like /mydomain.com/ in the directory of the host area, but when I went to the sub - FTP account and allowed the host directory entry, the bug to remove Sync appeared.

I have no idea why the... / is necessary, or why it even works. It kinda a strange looking remote display to see the root appearing directory as "/... /". "." But it works.

I found a bunch of messages showing that Dreamweaver users have suffered from this bug since at least 2002 in several versions of the software. Adobe - it is high time to address them.

BTW... under way to test this, at some point I just put a ' / ' in the host directory field. It does not solve the original problem, and it introduced a strange new in which Dreamweaver wanted to remove some folders on the server that have been "hidden". Very strange.

  • "File permission error" during deleting files on Windows 7

    Hello

I'm running Labview 2011 and have an application that has been developed to run on Windows XP. The part of the application deletes a file from the System32 folder, and then replaces it with another version of the same file (based on a specific condition). It worked perfectly on Windows XP. Now that I've migrated to Windows 7, I changed the path to access the SysWOW64 folder, where now stands the same file. Now when I run the program, during the phase of elimination, I get the following error:

    Possible reasons:

LabVIEW: File permission error. You do not have the correct permissions for the file.

When I try to manually delete the file in the SysWOW64 folder, I get a popup to confirm the progress of the removal. The file is then deleted.

Is there anyway that I can get permission to delete the file is automatically? I also tried to use the "Set permission" VI with the permission set to 511 (octal 777) but that VI also threw up the same file permission error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Arun

Try to run your application with the option "Run As Administrator".  Windows 7 is very restrictive on who can do what.  It's generally a bad idea that requires deleting file to a system folder.  I think you should consider using a temporary directory to avoid this problem.

  • Cannot delete files on the external hard drive USB

There are records that I can not delete on my external USB hard drive that I'm starting to suspect are connected to Windows updates related to Visual Studio who fail everytime I try to apply (this is another question I've waited in vain an answer for on Microsoft Connect).  These files have names like f95b13d78bd4c3a41d86.

Here is an example of the message that I get trying to delete these folders:
You need permission to perform this action.
You need permission SYSTEM to make changes to this file.
    EULA.rtf
    etc, etc.

    Hello

    1 are logged as administrator?

2 have you tried to delete the folder as an administrator?

    3. are you facing problems with Windows update?

    Method 1:

I suggest to fully appropriate the folder and then try to delete.

    a. right click on the folder, and then click Properties

    b. click the Security tab

    c. click on Advanced, then the owner tab

    d. click on Edit, then your user name (make sure to check replace the owner of containers under..)

    e. click apply, then OK

    f. now, under permissions, click change permissions

    g. click Add, and then type your user name and click OK

    h. check the box allow under total control, and then click OK

    i. now, choose it replace all the child permission checkbox

    j. click OK, then apply, then on Close.

  • Cannot delete files windows Messaging.

I have a laptop with Windows 7 64 bit. In the program files (x 86) files and the file of the folder for windows mail program. It seems that these records are just a waste of hard drive space after searching the net, Windows mail is not supposed to be bundled with windows 7. Windows mail is not in the start menu. It is not in the menu programs and features so I can't uninstall it. I can't launch the programs manually because they have an extension .mui on the edge of the name of the file, so it's a total waste of hard drive space. Problem is that I can't do anything with the files. When I try to remove the .mui winmail.exe.mui I get an error message "You need permission from trustedinstaller to make changes to this file" when I try to delete the folders I get the same error message. What the * is trusted Installer? Can someone tell me please how to get permission from trustedinstaller to remove these folders? They are of no use to me. Of course a bit of * left the system by acer.

For anyone still interested to remove these files, there are several steps missing.

On my installation, I need both to take ownership and change permissions for each file and folder before I could remove them.

    1. in Windows Explorer, select Tools-> Folder Options-> view tab-> uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)".
    2. right click on each file or folder and select Properties-> Security tab
    3. click on advanced-> owner tab
    4. click on edit-> UAC prompt approval
    5. Select your user profile and click OK to take ownership
    6. This will return you to the Security tab-> select Edit to modify permissions
    7. Select your user name and fill in the box to allow full control
    8 OK-> OK

Now that you have taken possession and you have full control, you will be allowed to delete files.

I'm surprised that it take so much effort to give me permission to delete a single record, but at least it would be embarrassing for a hacker, too.
