Get the factory restore point after formatting the computer

Dear friends

Is it possible to recover the restore point to return to hp factory state after formatting the hard drive

You can get it if you took the recovery DVDs before formatting it. otherwise only a HP service center can help you with that.

    Hello

    We will determine if your PC can not even boot from USB devices.  Plug the USB and turn on your PC.  When you get to the HP splash screen, then start typing the escape key to bring up a boot selection menu. If you do not see the USB device then your PC can't boot from a USB device.

    If your PC does support booting from a USB device and then read this MS post article.

    You always have the option to start Windows Defender from a CD or a DVD.

Afraid to fix the unit on my computer I had to do 3 times system restore to return the computer to life a little somehow... but don't trust him more. A defender analyses and analyses of Kaspersky on wd drive and software, computer, crashed... again... and again. He is back on? So do shred computer and buy a new one? • External HDD factory software deleted after formatting - how to get it back?

    Hello world

    Today I received my new Toshiba HDD (product HDDR320E04EL symbol) and when I opened it for the first time I was prompted to choose the type of file format and I chose the more compatible option which is fat, but shortly after I had to change it to NTFS and I just formatted the drive.
    Any software that is preinstalled NTI BackupNow EZ, More4You and McAffe trial application have been deleted, and I wonder how I could restore the driver settings with all the software that he initially understood.
    In addition, anyone know what happens in this case with the possibility of password protecting data? My drive is empty now and doesn't seem to have an option for encryption, and I wonder if she has been included in the factory-installed software.

    Many thanks for any help.

    Hello

    I m wondering if you received any CD, disc, etc. as well as the HARD disk drive.
    If not, then I guess that the preinstalled software has been removed and it is not possible to recover the data to a previous state

    I have a HDD from another manufacturer, and two applications were pre-installed.
    No drives were shipped with this HARD drive and after format HARD disk, I lost the mentioned applications and data

  • I am unable to open and copy the file encrypted after formatting my computer

    I just format my computer before formatting, I take any backup of the drive c. but 1 file is encrypted on my backup now, I'm unable to decrypt this file and is also impossible to copy and open this folder. Please help me with this.

    I assume you have XP Pro and that you encrypted files by using the Encrypting File System (EFS).  When you use EFS, the these files decryption key is stored encrypted with your certificate store.  When you use EFS, you * MUST * back up your certificates or risk permanently losing access to your encrypted files.  Details are provided in this article which is required reading if you use EFS:

    "Best Practices for encrypting file system"
      <>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/223316 >

    Jump down to the paragraph "why you should back up your certificates.
    Line background here, is that you have two options to recover the access to these files.  The first is to restore your certificate from the backup of the certificate that you created by the article above before you reformat your computer.  The second option is to completely restore your previous system from a backup of the image-style you did your system before reformatting and reinstalling.  Otherwise, I fear that you have permanenty lost access to these files.

    EFS is affectionately known as the 'Recycle Bin delay' in this forum.

  • Is it possible to get the computer will turn off after completing a task?

    Hello

    I was wondering, if I download a YouTube video, and while I'm waiting I put my computer in "Sleep Mode", when the download is complete will be my computer turns off automatically, or it stays on? I wonder because my internet is very slow and takes all day to download a single video, so I had to download excessive night but I'm worried about a fire or something to do while I'm asleep. If you can let me know it will stop automatically once the download is complete, I'll be very grateful for your time.
    Of
    Ryan.

    Hi Ryan,

    If you do it this way, the download stops when you put the computer to sleep.  Which, according to me, that you are looking for really to do is to use the Task Scheduler to set up a task to wake the computer from sleep mode, run the task and then put the computer to sleep when you are finished.

    To do this, please see the following 3 items:

  • I am unable to get the computer manufacturer to send the disc to reinstall Vista. I tried to do this task almost 3 weeks. I need to reinstall Vista so that I can upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit. Please help me. I have the product code.

    I mistakenly installed the 32-bit version of Windows 7, and I try to install the 64-bit version.  Info on other forums says there is no way to do it without a disk... I do not have with the computer.

    To go from 32 bit to 64 bit, you have to do with a FULL 64-bit version, by performing a clean install. so I don't see what the problem on Vista reinstall is.

    Unless you have Vista 64 bit, it will not help you upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit.

    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    After installation > go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/notebook > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > get latest Vista drivers for it > download/install them.
  • Re: How to restore data after format disk?
    Hi, people
    I need your help to restore some important data which disappeared after formatting the hard drive.
    I have not any backup that was my mistake.
    Everyone's help is appreciated.
    Thank you all.
    Hi mate
    I don t think you will be able to do.
    Usually, data are lost after you have formatted the HARD drive.
    Of course, there are some different applications that could help recover some data for example. Data Recovery Wizard, but it is not cheap software.
    But I found this:
  • system restore points after Defender updates?
    After you have installed the latest WU V7.4.7600.226 engine-> the last 2 updates to Defender has created a restore point (I've updated via WU without defender app.)
    Why is this? How to fix?
    Installation of a Defender update via automatic updates always creates a default Restore Point. These Restore Points may have been appointed Software Distribution Service 3.0 or similar before the installation of the update WUAgent.
  • recover system restore points after disk cleanup
    Original title: System Restore
    I wanted to save space on my C drive, I went to my computer and click on properties on the Local C drive, and click on disk cleanup.  Under the section more Options, it showed that I could free more disk space by removing all but the last restore point.  I did this and realized it was a mistake, because now I can't use the restore of the system at all.  Is there a way to reset it so I can use the restoration of the system again.  I tried to uncheck the box that said system off, and that did not help.  Thank you.
    Help me out here...  I don't get it.
    You have lost all your SR points by pilot error.
    You then make a new manually restore Point, restart, try to use the system for the new Restore restore point and then get a message that says that something wasn't right?
    That's exactly the message says?
    Something like that?
    Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...
    This often happens in the real world, and you need to understand and fix.
    Answer these questions to the best you can:
    What is your system brand and model?
    What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
    Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
    What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)?  System Restore is not a time machine.
    Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.
    For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:
    Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...
    It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:
    According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.
    Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.
    System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.
    Do, or do not. There is no test.
    I decided to implement the points for a new puppy instead of a pony!
