Get the ORA-06508 in configuring the listener APEX

Hello

I am configuring the listener of the Apex. After entering all required fields and click 'Apply', I get the error messages listed below. This happens when you try the Basic types and connection of the AMT.

ORA-06508: PL/SQL: called program unit is not found

Cannot run the Sentinel of the 4500 application page.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Sue,

It is not a fluke, it certainly works that way.
Just a few final remarks:
-He didn't need to change/copy content of + / orabackup_iris2/apex_listener/export/home + to + / orabackup_iris2/export/apex_listener + in your case, as the first directory does not seem to be a temporary.
-I recommend you put the java call, including parameters in a shell script and call instead.
- nohup works very well for the background to the application process. As you probably know he does not offer a service 'system' - like functionality.
- nohup creates a default file for the release of the console in employment has begun. I would recommend to redirect to a file named, then all the outputs.
So your final configuration would look as follows
start_apex_listener.sh

#!/bin/sh
java -Dapex.port=8080 -Dapex.home=/orabackup_iris2/export/apex_listener -Dapex.images=/orabackup_iris2/export/apex/images -jar /orabackup_iris2/export/apex_listener/apex.war

appeal of nohup

nohup /orabackup_iris2/export/apex_listener/start_apex_listener.sh >> /orabackup_iris2/export/apex_listener/apex_listener.log 2>&1 &

If your question answered, please mark this thread and any useful response or good post accordingly.

    Hello

US aircraft problems try to get the APEX listener running in stand-alone mode on AIX, but that did not work.

    Now, it's a coincidence - Colm just posted on this topic today: {: identifier of the thread = 2318817}
It is in any case, he started on Linux, so...

    SEVERE: service exception:

This is the relevant part of your stack trace. You must call http://: 8070/apex/listenerConfigure and complete the initial configuration (mainly the database connection settings) before you can access the APEX for the first time.

  • How to get the local Apex to start on my PC?

    Hello Apex community,.

There are problems in paradise. My anti-virus (AVG) asked me to re - start this morning. After that, Apex does not (Apex 4.1, Oracle 11 g, all local). The error of the browser says:

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server localhost: 8080.

When I try to start SQL * Plus, I get this message.

ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor

I waited 20 minutes, but the database is not yet right. Initiation of the apex has been very reliable so far. Except for the restart of the antivirus, nothing on the environment of the Apex has changed.

    Any ideas?

When you answer, remember that I'm not a DBA, so be very specific with your answers.

    Thank you very much!

P.S. I just thought of something. A few days earlier, Apex asked me to change my password, I did without incident. There may be an old password into a script somewhere?

    Kim

After that, Apex does not start

Firstly - because you get an error, try to connect through SQL * Plus, the problem comes from the database. The apex is almost certain to have absolutely no link with the question.

If you are running Windows 7, open the start menu, type "services" in the search bar and click on the ' link when it appears (should have a "gear" icon. Scroll down through the services until you see OracleServiceXE. Status should be "Started" and commissioning of type "auto". If it is not started, and/or the startup type is 'Manual', then you must use the services to run and you must change the automatic type.

If it's not her, I really recommend this thread closing and opening in the 'Oracle Database Express Edition (XE)' forum.

  • Issue of the listener to RAC

    Hi all

I have a 2 RAC node and when I run the lsnrctl services command on node 2, I get a list of services, but when I run the same node 1 I get

    The listener supports no services

is this normal or should I receive a list on both nodes?

I'm essentially looking to get to the bottom of why one of my databases on this implementation RAC keeps giving me an IO exception: the network adapter could not establish the connection in EM, but I failed to find an actual error for this number yet.

    Thank you

I don't understand why. Now I have the Listener.ora files on both nodes which look different with what you put and that without it, why is this?

The listener expects the requests from Clients to connect to the Instance. It receives connection requests incoming clients and handles the traffic of these requests to the database server.
For example: If node 1 is down, listener node redirection 2 while waiting request to node 2. This listening port on both nodes must be different.

  • Is there a way to get the current foreground and background colors? (default no)

    Something like that?

    var fgColour = app.foregroundColor;

    Alert ("foreground color =" + fgColour.rgb.hexValue);

  • How to change the location of the listener of the Apex?

    Hi all
After I changed the directory to the location of the listener of the Apex, I had
    Internal Error
When I tried to go to Apex.

    How to solve this problem?

    Kind regards
    Val

    Hi Valerie,

probably, this problem is caused by the access rights of the file on the apex.home (the place where the listener APEX stores its configuration). The default location is ${java.io.tmpdir}, which once again the default * / tmp/apex * in most cases. However, it is above all a global location, not a specific user. However, the files are created with write access to the owner and limited to the owner read access and group. So if you try to start with another user, the APEX listener tries to use the same location, but cannot access the files needed and therefore fails. root will obviously not have this problem, but I recommend not to use this account for any service that you run.
You can set a startup option to resort the APEX listener to a different location for apex.home is reading - / writeable for the current user. This could as

    java -Dapex.home=/home/user/apex -jar ./apex.war

Of course you can change the directory to anywhere that fits your system.
For more information about the boot settings, you might take a look in the development Guide and apex listeners install.

I think the listener APEX for Tomcat, at least, installation instructions are pretty poor.

    What worked for me:

    1. decide where the listener must find the configuration files:

    java-jar ords.war "c:\My STUFF\conf APEX" configdir

This changes the web.xml file in the ords.war file to get a reference to the expected configuration directory.

    2. perform the standard installation:

    java-jar ords.war of installation

This creates a few xml configuration files, etc. in a place where he mentions at the start of the installation - it does not change the war itself file.

3 deploy the ords.war in webapps

This creates the ADR structure directories above webapps, including our modified web.xml. It also creates a directory structure starting with "ADR" in the location that we have specified for the configuration directory.

You must now copy the files in step 2 configuration in the configuration directory created by step 3 - you will spot the similarity in the directory structures and Appendix A of the installation guide explains what that is the structure and the files do.

You should now be able to connect to APEX, the location of the "ADR" on Tomcat.

    Good luck!

There is nothing to worry about it. UNKNOWN means, the listener knows the orcl SID because of the list of SIDS. This is called static record. If your instance orcl's up, PMON dynamically registers the listener (if you are using port 1521 without additional configuration), which leads to a READY State.

Well, I'm trying to install data guard and this error I get on the standby server. The listener preceding is also the same.

    Help, please.
    concerning

I'm not very clear on that... Kindly explain... what exactly needs to add, delete or modify.

Follow the link, it shows why and how LOCAL_LISTENER needs a specifications in the tnsnames.ora. You don't have a problem with the native listener.

  • The listener is down: even if a listener with the name "AUDITOR", is running on this host at the port: "1521", it has not started using "the target LISTENER. ORA file.

I moved a listener on a host in a House different oracle. The headset works fine, but EM 12 c shows that the listener is down with the following summary:

The listener is down: even if a listener with the name "AUDITOR", is running on this host at the port: "1521", it has not started using "the target LISTENER. ORA file. CORRECTIVE ACTION: To monitor this "EM listener target" with its current configuration, you must stop the process of listening running and start it using the Listener parameter file: opt/oracle/product/12.1.0.2/network/admin/listener.ora. Alternatively, you can update "this target LISTENER. Location ORA setting"with the location of the listener running, which started using the: opt/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/network/admin/listener.ora.

EM 11 g, I simply changed the configuration of the listener for the different oracle home, argued the change and in a few minutes the listener would show that 'UP' with the oracle of new home. I upgraded to MS 12 c (12.1.0.4) and can't find how to do this. Can someone give me the procedure.

    Thank you

    Ron

    Hi Ron,

Can you please do the following?

-Create a for the listener listener.ora file, stop and start the receiver using the listener.ora file. If the file is located in a default location, set the TNS_ADMIN environment variable to that location before you start the listener.

-Log on to the EM console, go to the homepage of the listener.

-In the Oracle Listener menu, select target Configuration > Configuration of the analysis.

-Ensure that the parameters, including the Listener.ora directory, are properly.

    Kind regards

  • NETCA use configure my IP to the listener instead of my host name

Hi I use NETCA to configure my interlocutor.

But NETCA always configure my IP instead of my host name.

I would love to see that my host name is in the Configuring the listener automatically (by NETCA)

So I've got something I can change in my answer file to force this config?

Below you will find my response file
