Get the warning of the anti-virus program on Crack.exe as potentially dangerous program/spyware

Hey, all!

It was only a few days, I started using Windows Vista. Recently, I installed the AVG anti-virus free 2011 on my PC. But, after installation, when I scanned the computer with him, it displays a warning that there is a (potentially harmful Prog) spyware, named Crack.exe is present on my PC. I scanned my computer for several times, but the result was the same.

Manually, I explored & found the file under C:\Windows\Crack\Crack.exe with 291 KB in size.

When I move my pointer of the mouse over it, it shows Vista OEM BIOS émulation Setup.

Now, please tell me, is this really a Spyware / any potentially harmful program or any Windows system file? I can remove it or I need to run my PC?

Please help me solve the problem. Thanks in advance!

  • Value of anti-virus programs

I know that anti-virus programs have never been approved on this site, but I just had an experience that might be of interest. I meant Apple support on a minor matter that they helped me difficulty. Just by talking to them, a very annoying noise (a quick series of four or five beeps sounds strong, metal or clicks) began. She disappears for a few seconds and then, inevitably, come back. It was so strong that I was afraid that my iMac was damaged, and the technician that I was talking to said that she had never heard such a sound. She also said that she could not help me and I have to take my computer to the shop for repairs. That's how things stayed until just at the time when I used my anti-virus program in a desperate attempt to find and fix the problem. Before that, I kept my computer off tension and silence for fear of damage to my machine.

When I applied the anti-virus program, a never-ending stream of files would have been smart appeared on my screen. I was really stuck between the proverbial rock and a hard place, so I decided to trash all of these files. However, after I had deleted THIRTY or FORTY of them, I realized that I had not heard that annoying noises since I started, so I stopped the rampage even if an unknown number of suspicious files remained. It was probably the best thing to do because the noise is not returned.

I don't mention the name of my anti-virus program because some might think I'm just a sneaky vendors, but I think that my experience means something. I could be wrong but it seems to me that this noise is caused by some malicious programs and it fixed my anti-virus program. In any case, I'll send my thanks to this company. They saved me a trip to the Apple store and without a car, it was definitely a trip worth the savings. My iMac 27 "transport by bus on a forty minute trip is not my idea of a fun to spend the afternoon.

FWIW, there is no OS x viruses known in the wild. I don't am not personally at the malicious power of any software that would result described sounds. Without knowing which files have been marked as "smart", there are nothing to say if they were or they weren't. A possibility is that your drive is a failure that can cause noise described. Removing some of the "malicious" files the drive may be inaccessible in the region, that the drive is failing.

I would run first aid disk utility to see if it reports errors. I would keep an eye on her.

  • When you download an anti virus program I get the message of insufficient permissions, why is it I am logged as administrator.

When you download an anti virus program I get the message of insufficient permissions, why is it I am logged as administrator.

    Hi tomholland69,

    ·         What is the full error message?

    ·         You are able to download other programs?

    ·         What web browser do you use?

    ·         What anti-virus program do you use?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot State to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.

  • Security Center Windows is no protection against the virus, even if my anti virus program is updated and active

Original title: Security Windows symbol said no protection, but my anti virus software says that there is no threat to my computer. My anti virus system is up to date (Kaspersky). Why the red with an x on it to declare shield than the anti virus protection is disabled

My antivirus program is up to date and said that everything is fine, however the red shield with the x is always on and says no virus protection is on

It's never happened before. What's wrong?

    Hi Pitbulls,

Many users of Kaspersky have this same caveat, but this is a simple hoax. There is a fix to get rid of the pesky warning permanently:

Try these steps and see if they help:

    Step 1:

    1. temporarily disable the WMI (WMI) service in:

    a. start > run

    b. type: "services.msc".

    c. and there find/stop WMI

    Step 2:

    Then delete the folder C:\windows\system32\wbem\repository

    Step 3:

Restart the WMI service using the same procedure that you used to stop and restart the computer

It's probably the Windows Security Center that falsely says he is off, you're not the first and it happens to all Anti Virus software brands.

Unfortunately, we are beginning to see occasional reports on the MS Community forums of such behavior involving MSE and Security Center - usually, but not always involving XP.

See the response of Reallyoldguy in this thread - maybe his fix will work for you: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/mse-protect_updating/security-center-reports-microsoft-security/9de04320-fc8f-4f57-bb87-192be2d29b22

If the MSE icon is green then you should be protected and cannot ignore thisSecurity warning center. The question seems sometimes resolve spontaneously after a few days.

    Hello

-Which antivirus program is installed on your computer?
-Did you change your computer, after which the question began?

Maybe your computer is infected with the virus that prevents you from turning on the anti-virus software.

I would recommend that you follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

Put your computer in safe mode with network, download, install and run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if the problem is solved.

Note: You may lose data that is affected while eliminating malware.

    Step 2:

Check if you can activate the anti-virus ├a the State to clean up the boot program.

Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual.
