    Hi guys,.

I'm new on the forum of NI Teststand, so this my first topic here. The situation is the following:

Currently I develop a LV operator interface and I need to have a list of all the test step in a sequence file.

I am able to list all the steps of a sequence, but in the file of the entire sequence.

    Are there opportunities to do?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Maroci,

first of all, I am also quite new to TestStand, but I still think I can help you a bit.

Given that your code works for a sequence in the file simply browse all the sequences in the SequenceFile. Consider something like this:

    This help you?
Edit: Don forgt not (like me) to close the SequenceFile reference!

Does anyone know how to get the limits on a stage in a movie file?

  • Complete the step sequence of pass/fail

Hi all, I have a step in my main sequence that runs an interactive dialog to the operator.  It checks whether or not he receives the notification of the slave device.  If for any reason, the operator wants to "put an END to (ABORT" dialog box, I have a "CANCEL" button on the Panel before you let them.

I want that this sequence step to behave as follows:

    1. If COMMUNICATION RECEIVED = and the ABORT BUTTON = DO NOT SHOOT, then the status of the step should = success

    2. if COMMUNICATION = NOT RECEIVED and ABORT BUTTON = DO NOT SHOOT, then the status of the step should = failure

    3. If the ABORT BUTTON = PUSHED while in the IMMA step running, then the step status should = Terminated

Currently, I have the stage set up in a time of pass/fail using a Boolean output value of the VI.  My problems is that I have a problem with point 3 above.  I'm just putting it in the Expression of Post for the step in the following dot handle 3:

    Locals.VIAborted is True? () RunState.Engine.TerminateAll & Step.Result.Status == "completed":

Sometimes, I see not end when the Abort button = Pushed.

I'm this treatment properly, or is there a better way to do it?

    Thank you very much!

    That's all... Thank you mkossman!

  • Shift at the choice of the steps sequence editor

    Hello all-

I run into a few problems these last time with the sequence editor (TS 4.1 / LV 8.6) where by selecting some of the steps will be literally up to 30 seconds to load (instead of dry normal 1 or 2)... it seems to affect niswitch associated steps most, but virtually all the measures seem to have a good time. It seems that this situation is aggravated if I shift-select many steps at a time - for example if I take 4 steps, he literally will pick up for 2 straight minutes before I can change the options for stage. Seqedit.exe takes 100% of the CPU during this time as well.

I will add that I have in fact two identical configurations, and this affects only one of them...

I think it's safe to assume that the sequence in fact probably one editor kind of research or something, but I expect that once the VI is loaded into memory (say niswitch.llb/connect channels), it would be fine for the rest of the time I spend editing... any advice on what exactly it is?

other than this taking a lot of time, nothing is technically "broken" and my sequences work very well, but my development time is crazy now because I spend 80% of my time sitting to wait for the spring sequence editor to life!

    Thank you!

    -Kris

If your screws have I/O controls connected to the connector component, you could be hitting the same problem described in this thread http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=330&thread.id=23845.  You may need to patch LabVIEW 8.6.

I want to uninstall my old CS5 Design Premium from my computer to reinstall it on another computer. What are the steps? Is there something special with the activation codes, etc.?

You are allowed to have two facilities enabled, so if you prefer you can keep ut on the current computer and just install it on the new as you did initially.  If you want to remove on the other machine, the first thing to do is to disable it by opening a program in the suite and by selecting help-> turn off in the top toolbar.  That's all you need to do to disable the software.  At this point if you prefer you can uninstall it if you want.

As much as on the new nmachine, as I indicated just, just install it like you did the first time.

  • Display a default sous-suite when opening the file in the editor of TestStand sequence

Is there a way to set the default display sequence when open a file of sequence?

Seems that the steps for MainSequence are generally displayed first what existing openning sequence.

How I put it to display an another sous-suite when I open the movie file, I created.

Or if it displays one sous-suite other than MainSequence, how to set this back to display by default when MainSequence reopenning the file in TestStand.

    Jeff,

Sequences are stored in files in sequence in the order of 0 - N.  The default sequence will be the 0th.  To change the order in the sequence editor, you can click on the bar of the above sequence sequences.  Keep clicking until there is no arrow on it.  He is the true order of the sequences in the file in the sequence.  Drag the desired visible upward.

  • Module CVI written TestStand property, property value resets after the step execution.

    Hello

I did a lot of research and find nothing relevant to the question that I have. I've created a DLL in CVI containing several functions I call TestStand. I also created a type of step customized for each function call. Every function in the DLL has a runtime version and a version edit-time. Time edition features each have a UI associated with them are called from teststand. Change these functions are placed in the custom under the heading "change" step step-type tab Before executing a sequence with these custom steps the edit-time user interface is launched to allow the user to input values that will be passed to the run function. originally, I tried to set up my functions as a 'post step' step in the step properties. However, the sequences would fail to run because the parameters of the step module was empty. Then, I selected CVI as the adapter in the step properties and specified a default module for each type. This filled the tab module settings step like I wanted. However, when I ran the sequence each function execution of measures was called twice, once for the stage of the post, and once for what was in the tab module I suppose. I then re-entered the types of step and deleted all the steps of the post office. I thought that all the problems have been resolved at this point, however, after doing some more extensive tests I always have a bug, I was unable to get rid of that.

The problem is that two of my step types have to write data to current TestStand to execution after they ask an external device for IT. I know that the query works because my log text that generates the DLL displays the correct values. However, the data are not get rewritten on TestStand correctly. In the enforcement functions after checking the valid data has been returned, I try to write to TestStand using: "TS_PropertySetValNumber (seqContextCVI, NULL,"ThisContext.Step.ParameterValue.NumericParameter", 0, (double) ushortint);" »

I checked that this call generates an error and also used the TS_PropertyExists method to check that I had the correct search string. These extract so I added then another command that reads the value written to TestStand two return immediately after to write it. I printed this in my log file and found that the value is written to the property of TS. So, the problem is that TestStand is defining the property to reset after the code module is running. How to prevent this?

Thanks for all comments, let me know if anything specified needs.

    Josh Meyer

Well, I came to the conclusion that my 'problem' is not really a problem. I had a bit of a basic misunderstanding of the works of TestStand (I don't actually use it, I am writing just a code which will bring an existing one of the tools of the features inside the TS).

in any case, what I learned is that these properties are retained (so you can set up a sequence, save it, re - open and be able to run it without any reconfiguration for example), when you write to a property when installing editting/sequence. The run time values are not preserved (if connected) because they are only required to carry out. For example, if a user calls one of these functions to extract value from a controller, they probably do so because they want to check the value, it's what they expect it to be. Rather than watching the value after execution (which is what I me assuming they would do), they would set up the step after step "read value" to test the value that it returned. This value is available in 'RunState.PreviousStep.valuename' in the downloaded step step "read value".

Hope that I did not confuse anyone a lot, I'm completely new to TestStand.

  • skip the steps programmatically

    Hello
I want a pop up dialog box in my sequence and have the user select what they want to run, a labview graphical interface.  Is there an available teststand property to set to set programmatically a step to 'jump' once the race started?  I could do this differently by a prior or such a condition, but that gets a little hairy and I want to do as clean as possible.

    Thank you

    David J.

You can use interactive executions instead of normal operations. See using the API for InteractiveArgs for more details. Another possibility is dynamically defining the runmode on the steps by using Step.SetRunModeEx () (you can pass an execution in this case to make the runmode change apply only to execution, rather than being a step editing tool).

    Hope this helps,

    -Doug

  • dynamically change the name of the step

    Hello

I'm trying to find how to change the name of the step.

The problem is: when I call a sequence several times, I can find the names of the steps in the report for about 50 times.

So, what I want to do is: I want a prefix for the name of the step of the call sequence and add this prefix in the name of each step.

Do you have any idea how to do that?

    Thank you very much

    Meike

    Hi Meike

Try to make it public static.

Do not use Step.Name on the right side, use a local instead.

    Step.Name = Parameters.sCallerSequence + Local.strName

If this will not help there is another way to rename StepNames to report, renaming the ResultList.

but you need an additional step.
