Good Intel CPU installed?

I recently took delivery of the new desktop XPS 8900. I ordered Intel Core i6700 processor (8 M Cache, up to 4.0 GHz). However when I checked the information on the system installed on the desktop CPU shows Intel Core i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40 GHz.  Performance test indicated qualified Max speed 3.40 GHz and current flow 3.41 GHz. correct processor has been installed? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

http://Ark.Intel.com/products/88196/Intel-Core-I7-6700-processor-8M-cache-up-to-4_00-GHz

Yes, that's the correct processor. the 6700 has speed of 3.4 Ghz and Turbo to 4.0.

You can install HWiNFO64 and you see all the details of the processor, the speed of each carrot and temp of each nucleus during the performance test.

    CPU replacement

Hello!  I replace the CPU in my HP P6310F.  According to this literature, http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01949155 , I have an AMD Phenom II X 4 Quad-Core 9xx/9xxe/8xx (Deneb).  My understanding has always been that "9xx" means any phenom II in the class of the 900 series.

I bought a retail Phenom II X 4 965 Black Edition, part HDZ965FBGMBOX number, installed and get the error message: CPU support is not installed message.  After searching and reading about the error message and other messages, it seems it might be due to the 'black edition' and/or because it is 125 watts.  It was the answer to a few others in the same situation as me.

Can you please tell me why this CPU is not compatible and please help me with a list of compatible CPU?

This is also in the 9xx series, but is it at 125W

    HDZ955FBK4DGM AMD Phenom II X processor 4 955 - Quad Core, 6 MB of Cache L3, 2 MB L2 Cache, 3.20 GHz, Socket AM3, 125W, fanless, OEM

This lies in the 9xx series and is 95W

AMD HDX945WFGIBOX Phenom II X 4 945 Quad Core Processor - 3.00 GHz, 6 MB of Cache, bus front to 2000 MHz (4000 MT/s), retail, Socket AM3, processor with fan

The stock processor is an AMD Athlon II X 4 630, 95W

I can provide any other information you may need, thank you very much!

There is no AMD Black Edition CPU that are compatible with any PC HP desktop.

That's what the problem is related to. Black Edition CPU are special processors who have discovered the multipliers for amateur quality motherboards. You could not access the multipliers to overclock the CPU with the motherboard you have installed it anyway.

Even if you choose, buy and install one of the microprocessors in maintenance & service Guide there is no guarantee HP which will be exploited.

You should also be aware that installing a different CPU than your office has been delivered with the warranty.

    Sorry to bear bad news.

The good news is that the processors listed in the maintenance department & guide reputable reports of upgrade in discussions in the forum, to run.

  • ESX 3.5 does not start with two intel cpu on an ibm HS21 blade 5420

I have 4 ibm HS21 blades that I bought recently and ESX 3.5 does not start on them if I have both CPU intel 5420 installed. It will start if I remove one of the CPU. This also occurs if I try ESXi.

I have two blades I bought 8 months ago that work well with both CPU is installed. Blade models are very similar, "old" is hs21-8853a1c new knives is hs21-8853g3u.

I have updated the bios and the controllers. At this point, I shot two blades of the additional processor so that I can use them but I would really like to put back them.

    Any thoughts?

    David,

    Welcome to the forums!

Could check you if two microprocessors are executing a different step? If so, then the debate may be relevant here .

  • Unsupported CPU installed

    Hello

I bought a new processor for my PC. I checked beforehand that the cpu would be compatible with my motherboard. But once I installed it I get the message "unsupported CPU" installed I did a search and read that I have maybe update my bios but in the downloads section, there is no download for my bios.

    My PC: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02610652

My new CPU: AMD Phenom II X 4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (core Deneb)

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

    Thanks for your time.

No, a more powerful power supply will not solve this. Probably the card mother Aria-GL8 only supports CPU with a 95 watt TDP. It is also possible that the "Black Edition" CPUs are not supported as well. Please stay with the AMD Phenom II X 4 processor for best results.

  • Mode of Intel not giving expected performance - vSPhere 5.5 - Intel CPU E5-2699

    Hello

We have a few hosts Dell R730 with 2xE5-2699 CPU in them. Basic frequency is 2.3 Ghz and Max Turbo 3.6 according to the specifications.

Intel's mode is activated and we are running 1 VM on those hosts with 4vCPU, the virtual machine is configured as sensitive to high latency. When carrots are maxxing out on the virtual machine, we see Mhz max 11250 use which is 2812, 5 Mhz by heart, which is 2.8 Ghz. I expect to see 3.6 Ghz, because the host is only 1VM running with 4cores and the host is 18Cores (per CPU).

Someone got experience with this CPU and turbo boost? Is there maybe some configurations we miss them?

    Concerning

    Jonas

You can find these multiplier cpu-datasheet. Calculate you the frequency as for load of 2 strands:

    base_frequency_ [GHz] + (multiplier * bus_clock_ [GHz]) = 2.3 + (13 * 0.1) = 3.6 GHz

For 1 or 2 basic load, the multiplier is 13 (that strain begins with support for 18 all the kernels, then 17, 16, 15, etc., up to simple core). In your case, VM has now 4 vCPU. It is expected to use multiplier 10 and get 3.3 GHz, but no! 5 multiplier is used. Why? Because of the feature called 'load thermal balancing': ESXi "turns" that 4vCPU the load on all pCPUs/pCores, so that all pCPUs/pCores are moderately loaded (so your multiplier 5 is used). Every modern operating system is present (even Windows). Otherwise, a part of CPU chip would be extremely hot, while other parts were cold.

If you had installed Windows directly on the physical machine, you can stop using "processor affinity". You can probably do it in ESXi also, but I DON'T recommend it, unless you are ready to burn/wreck your Jepp. If only 2 of 18 pCores (on each pCPU) are 100% and remaining close to 0%, heat stress on carrots loaded and no charge limit is extremely high. This could really insist pCPU up leading to physical damage (even with very good cooling), if you run it any longer...

  • Intel CPU T5450 is similar to CPU T5500

Please let know us, as I just got a replacement for my previuos laptop that was a Satellite of Tosh with a processor intel T5500.
My new laptop has a processor intel core 2 duo T5450 rather than an intel core 2 duo T5500 and I would like to know if the processor of intel lower (T5450) would be identical or similar and would not make much difference to the laptop operating speeds.

Will there be a significant change in performance with the previous T5450 rather than CPU intel T5500?

    Hello

Here is a detailed description of Intel:

    [Processor Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T5500 | http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9SH]

    [Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor T5450 | http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sspec=sla4f]

Both processors are very similar. All two supported the same speed but the T5500 requires less energy and creates less heat dissipation.

But the difference is really minimal, and in my opinion a new processor would not increase the performance of your laptop.

  • Satellite A110-274 supports one Intel CPU T2050?

Hi guys can tell me if the A110-274 supports a duo T2050 processor anyone or not...

    Thank you very much

Satellite A110 supports up to a processor Intel Core Duo 2.16 GHz with 2 MB of Cache L2 and FSB 667 MHz.

But in your case, I would not change the CPU because it costs a lot to and you get much more performance.

Here is an article on the CPU upgrade:

  • Computer will work no more than 3-4 seconds after start-up, then stops. New CPU installed

I replaced a damaged AMD Phenom II quad CPU 820 HP said was a compatible AMD Phenom II 965 Black edition on my HP Pavilion p6320y quad. AMD has recommended I also replace the PSU with a 500w power supply 300w. This has been done with success as well. When I turn on the machine, the cooling fans turn on, but run for not more than 3-4 seconds and the machine turns off. The CPU is brand new and it has been determined to be good, not to have been a DOA. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p6320y and its card mother M2N78-(Violet6). Previously, these support pages stated that the motherboard has a maximum TDP of 95 watts. According to the specs, it supports the following processors;

    AMD Phenom II X 4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb)

    AMD Phenom II X 3 Triple-Core (Heka) 7xx/7xxe

    AMD Phenom II X 2 5xx (Callisto)

    AMD Athlon II X 4 6xx/6xxe (undactylopodite)

    AMD Athlon II X 3 4xx/4xxe (Rana)

    AMD Athlon II X 2 2xx/2xxe (Regor)

The AMD Phenom II X 4 965 processors are valued at 125 watts and 140 watts and the motherboard exceeds 95 watts maximum. In addition, BE or "Black Edition" processors are not listed as supported based on specifications.

  • Aurora R4 - replacement with newer 4820 K K 4930 Intel CPU or CPU X 4960

Can an existing Aurora R4 (which was delivered with an Intel 3820, 3930K or CPU X 3960) be user upgraded to a new Intel Intel 4820 K K 4930 or CPU X 4960 without replacing the motherboard with a new revision of this forum?

If Yes, what version of BIOS is necessary?

Why on the Aurora R4 the BIOS download page is not listed?

    Hello Pdschweitzer!

Yes, you can upgrade the processor of Intel 4820 K 4930 K or CPU X 4960 without replacing the motherboard, the only thing that you have make sure you, is that you have a recent version of the BIOS.

They remove drivers and downloads, but you can find it if you type in the search bar Aurora R4 BIOS, I would recommend you to Flash the BIOS A07 since they are testing the A09 version

Here you can find the link to download.

  • R710 2nd CPU Install - E1410

Before configuration: 1 x Xeon 5540 CPU with 24 GB RAM

Configuration: 2 x Xeon 5540 CPU with 48GB of RAM

-After installing a CPU Socket #2 and RAM to match 1 CPU and RAM at the start, I get the error on the LCD E1410 fatal system error.

-J' have moved the new CPU2 in CPU1 socket then removed the CPU 2 RAM and it starts without any problem.

-J' I then took RAM banks on CPU1 and left with only 2 sticks in slots 1 and 2, it starts without any problem.

-J' then took and put the old CPU in Socket #2 and put 8 GB of RAM in an identical configuration CPU 2 banks and get the same error.

After that this diagnosis, it shows that this is NOT the CPU, which raises the question and it doesn't seem to be the RAM either. There is not bent or missing pins on the socket. I tried to reset the NVRAM, but it doesn't seem like it fixed. Is there some BIOS update that I need to be able to use both CPU? I've never seen something like this before... I really hope this isn't taking itself somehow.

Everyone! Great news. I'll declare this post as solved! :) After all, troubleshooting and testing. I want to say... Check your PIN under processor 1 if your getting this error. You may see 1 or 2... or in my case 8 bent pins... I can only say that came from Dell as well as the only time 1 processor has been removed was in troubleshooting put the 2nd. It seems that I never checked to see if there was something wrong because the processor worked was no problem to slot 1... However, after checking he had 8 pins bent. I used the cutting edge flat tweezers to pry their place and reposition in place... put two processors in and BAM! It starts without error.

Question... How the [ADMIN NOTE: profanity deleted] it not work with 8 pins touch or crossed. How have I not the kernel vm crashes. Laughing out loud

Thank you all for your help. I'll tell you its solved because I am the OP, however please continue troubleshooting your problems.

    Thanks again

  • Windows 7 & Skylake Intel CPU support

I'm looking to build a new rig and want to continue using my Windows 7 existing license until the end of LIFE product in 2020 (or until 10 is radically improved or something else comes out).

By watching Z170 or x 99 platforms... leaning towards Z170 to allow future events.
During my research, I discovered the gen 6 new Intel processors Skylake will receive only Win7/updates on day of support until 2017.  I've also heard the Skylakes will be targeted and forced to upgrade to Win10 via Windows Update.  Are one of these true?
What are the other "newer" Intel processors (4th/5th gen i3/i5/i7, Haswell, etc.) that are currently planned for Win7 support 2020 pursuit?
In addition to my questions, please provide any additional info, you can share this topic.  Thanks for your help!

Actually in charge in what concerns the ends win-7 2020 and I guess, according to many users, it will be expanded as x - p,.

However, Intel is :), there is a difference of 18 months

Not to mention that it's only in what concerns the new drivers of your cpu or the motherboard will not stop working :D

Support, however, depends on what kind of problems you might face = probably none is I think it's just a tactic for fear of upgrade.

M$ is desperate to make everybody buy in this stupid upgrade and eat it too many licenses of win 7 because they can

There is no real reason 7 and 10 cannot co-exist unless M$ wants no more than 7 on the market.

  • Any Intel adapters installed on my computer?

Im trying to install a driver ethernet to my PC but I got a message saying that there is no Intel adapters on the computer. I need help.

Sounds like you are trying to install the wrong driver for your wireless card.  Determine the make and model number (if you do not know that go to your computer manufacturer's website and find it), and then download the appropriate drivers.

  • vMotion compatibility Intel CPU

    Hi all

    I'm making reference to this document: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1991

Requirements of VMotion CPU compatibility for Intel processors

We have four servers BL460c G1 (Xeon 54xx CPU). I want to buy two new servers to replace 2 we have in an offbeat upgrade. The new servers are BL460c G7 (Xeon 56xx CPU).

In the above document, our current processor is part of Group C. Our new servers fit into Group E. There are instructions of compatibility vmotion for vMotioning fast between the groups C - D and D-e... but I need to know if I can vMotion the c.-e. group. Is this possible, or what I can not vmotion?

    Thanks for your help!

  • PowerEdge 2970 w/AMD Opteron 2212, 2nd problem with CPU install

    Hello

We had this server gave to us and I'm trying to get it ready to use. (fairly recent with servers)

It came with (1) CPU and 2 GB of Ram and it runs well. The BIOS reported this CPU as an AMD Opteron 2212. I wanted to add a 2nd CPU and found some refurbished. They have been described as 2nd generation of Opteron 2212 OSP2214GAA6CQ.

When I have one installed and rebooted the system, I get the message "this system supports only the Opteron F3 or later processors. Is there a setting in BIOS that I need to change.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

    Hello

Processor you listed isn't an update F2 and F3, this is why it does not work. You need part number OSA2212GAA6CX or OSA2212CXWOF.
