  • What is the difference between the Photos of Google and Apple?

Hi I learned recently about a Google Photos app.  Is it the same as the pictures Apple app?  If you use this application from Google is like iCloud photo library or something?

NO, they are not the same. Each has his strenghs and weaknesses. You'll have to read about their features and choose the one that best fits your needs.

If I had to sum up, I would say that Google is more than a storage solution, while iCloud Photos is more than a synchronization solution, download, download, and sync all the images and their changes on all devices Apple, Mac lime, iPhones and iPads.

  • New Apple ID Photo transfer

I am connected to my old Apple ID on my MacBook, but have a different, new ID, apple on my iPhone. I have thousands of photos on my Mac that I'm terrified of losing if I change. Is it possible to transfer my ID apple without them all removed on my Mac. Thank you in advance. John

Why do you think changing the AppleID will remove your photos from the Mac?

Is the library of Photos on your Mac a photo library of iCloud?  If so, you are using "Optimize Mac Storage"?

If you use "Optimize Mac Storage" you must disable this option and download all photos in iCloud photo library, until you switch to a different AppleID to iCloud photo library.  Your Mac has enough free storage to download all photos in iCloud?  If so, download the photos to iCloud and then disable iCloud photo library as described here: https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.2/?lang=en#/phtf5e48489c (the last paragraph - stop using iCloud photo library)

    Stop using iCloud photo library

Important: If you turn off your iCloud photo library, you will be prompted to choose 'Download this Mac originals' in the iCloud Photos preferences pane, then all your original photos can be downloaded from iCloud to your Mac. Be sure to leave your originals to download before shutting iCloud library completely.

    1. Choose Photos > Preferences, then click on iCloud.
    2. Uncheck the box for iCloud photo library to turn it off.

After having turned off iCloud photo library, the Photos on your Mac app can not access your photos or videos stored in iCloud. The changes you make to photos on your Mac do not appear on other devices, and the new photos you take will not be added to the Photos on your Mac. Your library remains in iCloud and available to other devices than iCloud use photo library.

Once all photos are back safely on your Mac, you can change again for the new AppleID in iCloud preferences and enable iCloud photo library.

  • Export of Apple Watch Photos

First of all, I backup any of my Apple products.  I didn't think it was necessary.  I used Touch ID to unlock my iPhone for a long time, and after being out of the pool, I needed to unlock my phone.  Contact ID wasn't working so I typed in what I thought, it was the password over and over again.  I me am locked out and had to erase the entire phone.  Losing more than a year of photos.  However, I was lucky because they were all still on my Apple Watch!  I'm not able to associate my watch with my phone again until I wipe completely.  So, is there a possible way to get photos off the coast of the watch? Is there someone, photos I can send it that knows how to extract the photos? My only other option is to take photos of the tiny Apple Watch screen displaying pictures.  The answers would be greatly appreciated.

The only pictures that you find on the Apple Watch are those that you synchronized on the watch of the iPhone. And these photos are those that should already resident on the computer.

I'm sorry you lost content, but why would you believe that it is not necessary to back up Apple devices? You back up your computer? Unfortunately, you just found the importance of a backup, and what can happen if you don't.

  • Weird Apple TV photo flow behavior

I have an iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

I have the iCloud backup enabled.

Between my iPhone and my iPad library workflow and picture works perfectly. The photos I have in the iCloud library are those that appear in my phone and my tablet.

But when I use the same function on Apple TV, a few photos that have already been deleted.

I double-checked this in my iCloud and these photos are simply not more.

So where is the Apple TV gets these pictures for the photo stream?

There is no option so delete...

    Welcome to the Apple community.

If you have iCloud library enabled on your iPhone / iPad, then your photo stream album is hidden on these devices. Apple TV does not use your iCloud photo library, it uses the flow Gallery, so when you delete a photo in your iCloud library on your phone/iPad, it is not removed from the data flow Gallery and can still be seen from your Apple TV.

  • Uninstalled Google Chrome, but Windows Photo Gallery does not always work.

Using Vista Home Premium. Downloaded a program from small utility and it turns out Google Chrome, which I didn't, was grafted on the program and installed itself without my OK. I uninstalled the program utility and Google Chrome. I renamed the file "pictures.pd4" as suggested here. That did not help.

Earlier you mentioned Pictures.pd4... that indicates a

  • Import Apple app photos in lightroom

I use lightroom CC 2015.3 computer Macbook Pro El Capitan.

In the previous update of lightroom, adobe added support for the library of Photos of Apple.  After a lot of complaints from the community on the new design of page import, adobe has returned to the old conception of import page. In doing so, it seems that adobe has also decreased support for the import of Photos Apple library.  Is this true?

I just checked and discovered that Lightroom (2015 cc.3) remembers the link to my library of Photos apple when I imported using 2015 cc.2.  So I tried to use this link and Voila! It imports directly from the photo library.  However, if I try to access the photo library using the standard import dialog box, it does not.  It seems that adobe still has work to do.

  • How to import pictures from the new Apple's Photos app to lightroom?

The instructions in the Adobe tutorial do not work for the new application Photos of Apple.  Lightroom is also not locate my photos.

    Hi Thabiti,

Photos app does not have any external editor to recognize directly.

You will first need to export images from the Photos App and then import them into Lightroom.

You can refer to this article:

  • 4th gen Apple TV photo stream screensaver

If the 9.2 TVOS update has changed a bit in the iphotos and now when I want to make my screensaver of my photo stream it seems to have disappeared. I can make an album of my screensaver, but not a photo stream. I don't want to make a new folder and manually add the photos. Is always nearby photo stream option?  The operating system updated as 10 minutes ago, so I could not have seen yet.  iPhone and macbook have photo stream. Ideas? Thank you.

I thought about it. You must go in the settings-our-icloud and extinguish it iphoto library and then as magically the photo stream will appear and you can market and then in the parameter turn it on as a screen saver.

  • How to display only photos Tags in a folder? Default Apple includes photos of other folders as well if I select a particular tag.

I tried to use the click with the right button on a photo and see the matter closed, but once again, it only shows the view of the generic folder with all the pictures that are marked or not.

My goal is to copy photos marked by the record and give it to a photographer who creates an album for me. Please note that these photos were given to me by the photographer and are not in sync in my library of photos.

    Thank you

  • Aperture from Apple of Photos + affinity and El Capitan

Nice surprise: opening seems OK under El Capitan. Nice surprise: affinity goes perfectly with the opening, for now. Better than the Photos .

You feel relevant to migrate opening Photos + affinity (hoping that developers will improve the combo...), or is - this smart favorite LR + PS ?

Opening was a request $80. Photo is a gift. I don't see how pictures is somehow a replacement for Aperture for any user of serious Aperture.

Only you know the shooter that you, and only you can decide what is the best software set up for you.

  • Photos App - file missing album on Apple TV

I used the Photos App to all my photos. I have to sort, create albums and they are classified in the appropriate folder, for example to create adventures 2016-> contains all travel from 2016. On iPhone & iMac so iCloud-site, I can see all folders of Photos, one can see all the albums a photo.

My new Apple TV (4th gen) shows me pictures of the chronological photos tab. The albums tab they show me the standard albums and albums, but only while they are not in a folder. If an album has been placed in a folder, the folder and the album are not displayed.

I called Apple ago minutes of charging. The staff member said, this correct ist that a records are not displayed by AppleTV.

Is there someone how knows the problem and have an idea, how records may be visible on the Apple TV Photos app.

    Thank you!

Photos on the Apple TV does not support nested folders, you need to display your albums nested app for computers.

  • Pictures of Apple: How disable automatic download to "My photo stream" Album?

    Hi all

I mean I too spend opening Photos. I'm not happy at all pictures, but is not today's topic.

I have a huge library converted to opening in Photos. The process was very long, but everything seems fine now.

My library is 90% of the pictures I take with my DSLR in Raw format.

I started to get mad when I found the photos strove to upload photo I added locally in my library to my photo stream (all in RAW and big, very big JPEG).

At the opening, I had an option to disable automatic downloading in the flow of the photo:

This option is essential to avoid the stream function photo to kill your connection, fill all of your iPad, iphone with pictures that you don't want to share with other devices.

I've looked everywhere in pictures an impossible to find where this setting is hidden:

I'm still very very interested get all the pictures that I shot with my iPhone and iPad synced with my Mac, but whenever I have activate 'My Photo Streal' it starts to download all in the flow...

I can't believe they killed opening so that they also in fact almost unusable Photos for customers migrating from Aperture despite.

Is there a hidden feature or the definition of magic to turn off automatic download?

    Kind regards

    O.P.

    No, sorry.

If you use my photos in Photos to Mac workflow, you will automatically download all the new photos in your library for my photo stream as well.

However, you could work with two libraries of Photos - a library that you use iCloud wist and where you download your iPhone and iPad photos and a second, where you keep your RAW files.  Only, you will need to transfer the photos from your library of photo stream for your main library manually.

https://help.Apple.com/photos/Mac/1.0/?lang=en#/pht6d60b524TThismage help explains how to use more than one library.
