GPS data deleted when editing RAW files

I recently bought a GPS receiver for my Nikon D7100, what records latitude, longitude etc., who appears in the photo EXIF data.

However, when I change the RAW file in Lightroom (around 4.4) and save the file changed in jpeg format, GPS data has been deleted and will not locate automatically when downloaded from sites like Flickr.

Is there a way I can keep the GPS data on the processed image?

Thank you

Thank you... the box is unchecked.

I think that I have found a workaround.

If I save the RAW edited/processed as a .tiff file it seems to preserve the GPS data embedded in the EXIF data and thus can be auto-situé in Flickr

  • How to edit raw files in lightroom?

When you edit raw files in lightroom the additional option only I seem to get is to better control the white balance.  Am I missing something?  is it possible to open raw files in camera raw (as in photoshop elements) or can the editing options I have better for all the work of raw (nef) and jpg photos on raw than jpg?  I'm a bit confused by it...

    Bob,

You get all the same commands (with the exception of the white balance) with jpeg and raw files. Indeed, the editing goes better with raw. For example, the recovery slider will retrieve parts blown gross, but not blown portions of a JPEG image. As has been pointed out by Clevermonkey, LR offers all the features of Camera Raw (who also edit JPEGs).

  • Horizontal lines on my screen when opening raw files in ACR

    Hello!

I have a Macbook Pro to the end of 2013 with El Capitan installed 10.11.2 retina and all the latest updates for Adobe Photoshop CS6. I'm having problems when opening raw files in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). I have lines of color on the screen when maximize/minimize the window cab. I've been in contact with Apple, but they couldn't find anything with the material, but my problem is still there. This could be a software related issue?

I'd appreciate any help or advice as soon as possible.

    Thank you very much

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi David,

It seems a problem with the graphics card on the computer, as the display is based on the graphics card drivers.

I suggest you to please go to the Photoshop preferences, then the performance tab.

Then please click on "Advanced settings", under the GPU settings and change the drawing in "Basic" mode

Also uncheck the option for "Open GL/CL', restart Photoshop.

and then open the images in Camera Raw and see if the lines still appear or not.

    Kind regards

  • Why can I I have no display and edit RAW files on the iPad?

CMA view or edit RAW files in iPad? All three apps of photoshop can't see or edit RAW files. The pictures are on the Filmstrip, and other applications can open and edit them!

Sorry, we currently do not support importing RAW files in difficulty of the PS. Please open your RAW file in another application, and then choose share > open with... > Photoshop Fix.

  • How to delete imported photos raw files?

    Hello everyone,

I imported via a usb cable for my 700 d canon pictures photos app (yosemite of macbook air)

usually, I shoot jpeg + CR2 (so later I can adjust if necessary) and the photos app both imported (automatically) (although CR2 is the canon raw file format)

I discovered that my photo library is now 15 GB causes of all imported... raw files while I wanted to import only jpeg

How to remove raw (CR2) files?

apparently if you delete the photo the cr2 file remains in the library, no way to separate or to cancel the two... an idea?

    TKS!

When I import RAW + JPEG pairs to my library of Photos, Photos show the pair as a single picture. When I delete this single photo, both the RAW and JPEG are removed from the record masters in the library of Photos after I empty the album recently deleted.

  • How to make default PS6 when opening RAW files

HI: I have a new computer. I put PS6 on it (got my number reg of Adobe a few years ago). So all my RAW files, JPEG files, are opened in PS6.

Then I put the PS3 top (found the old drive and was able to activate my reg number). I did it because 3 has the extraction tool. So now I have 3 and 6.

My problem is that now, when I double click on the RAW opening to 6 files that I get a little window that says "could not compete request because PS does not recognize this file type." So I guess he thinks I'm trying to open a RAW file in PS3, which I am not. If I right click I can open them in SP6 manually selecting PS6. But the thing is, when I just click SP6 is a top option and it says SP6 is the default value. And I can't open. So why can't open their clicking twice?

I'd like to think that I just do PS6, the default value for the opening of the FIRST and all the files, but he says that he 6 is already the default. Then, maybe there is another way to make sure 6 is the default, so I don't have to manually open each file by right clicking?

    Thank you!

Or uninstall cs3 and CS6 and install in the correct order.

I discovered this when I installed CS2 on Windows 10 just to see if I could.

It has the default value for files and I couldn't choose cc.

  • You can import and edit RAW files on a Samsung Tablet?

I am looking for a Tablet (Samsung, with a stylus,-because of the cost savings) to use mobile Lr for import and review my RAW files on a trip (wireless or using a card reader).  I won't have access to a computer/laptop, so this is why I want to get a tablet.  The Advisor tells me a Samsung tablet will read the RAW files, but I can't find any information that this backup.  Does anyone have experience or knowledge to confirm?

My other option is the Apple Ipad Pro, with a pen of apple.  Can someone offer me some advice please?

  • I see my .nef being adjusted automatically when importing raw files

Sorry if this is a stupid question or answered before, but when I import files from my CF card in lightroom, import the files I can see them coming as I pulled on them and then adjust automatically to be darker.  I import with no presets.  Is this a function of lightroom see what camera images where shot with it and then make an adjustment based on the camera?  Is there anyway to eliminated adjustments because the files are imported.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • "Shrinking" when importing RAW files?

I save RAW (CR2) files to a folder on my hard drive.  I then import/copy them to the catalogue (No. DNG conversion).  Most of the files are 18-20meg.  However, when I mouse over the image in the library, it shows that most of them like 15meg yet CR2.  What happens here?  I also don't create previews (yet), in most cases.  Also I use LR 5.5 on OS10.9.

Yes, I need to learn how to store / organize photos more efficiently. In the meantime, I want to assure you that i've got full access to data for editing. After all, that's why I'm shooting in RAW.

Can someone help me out here?

Where you see the size of the file in the library?

Are you confused Megapixels with Mo?

The megapixels are determined by the width and the height of the sensors and data relatively constant for a particular configuration of brute, while the megabytes would vary based on the compressibility of the raw data and embedded preview JPG which are more compressible than if there are smooth areas and less noise due to the ISO settings, so the size of files themselves may vary considerably.

  • Loss of data / Pixels when editing

    Hello!

I'm having a problem whenever I use images from my camera film of black magic.

    adobe problem.jpg

As you can see in the image, the pixels on the bottom of the screen information in bulk / go black when there is movement of the video source. When I look at the Quicktime video source video is perfectly fine and that in the first is this error happening.

Here are a few notes on the data:

    • Shooting 24 p ProRes on BMCC
    • Color corrected in DaVinci and exported in the form of mpeg-4 video 1920 x 1080
    • When I import the video to the timeline, I slip and fall. I select Preferences of chronology

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you for your time.

I can only think it is a coding error.

Instead of H.264, create intermediate UT.  They are lossless, so no quality is lost from the original.

  • A slight color and quality shift when viewing RAW files for the first time in the library Module.

    Hello

I've been shooting RAW for awhile and have notice that after I import the images and then begin to view in the library Module, I see a light color and quarter of quality - almost looks like a shift in the balance of whites, but not quite.   I thought that maybe there was some preset automatic applied but I do not have all of the presets.

I'm shooting with a Canon 1DX and 7 d.  I have not checked to see if I get this situation with the 7 d, but I know for sure that I understand with the 1DX.

Today I have passed through a few images in Bridge and decided to open one in Camera RAW.   At that point I found out that the Style of the images of the camera settings are available, faithful, Standard, Portrait, etc..  I noticed that the images did not camera styles applied to them, but rather the Style Standard Adobe have. At this time there in RAW I chose one of the styles of the camera and the bingo that's the kind of change that I see when I first discover an image in the library of LR4.

So I can say that the RAW images are becoming the Adobe Standard style applied in LR.   I don't know if it's a default behavior of if I did something to make.  I think also that maybe LR not necessarily applies Styles of the camera automatically even if the particular style has been in the camera - is perhaps not imported as part of the metadata during import and so the default Adobe Standard.

I guess what I need to know a few things and I hope that someone can educate the beginner!

1 should I expect LR4 to apply the Style in the game of the camera automatically or not at all?

    2. can I prevent LR to apply the Adobe Standard Style and apply no style?

    3. can I cause some LR apply the Style as set out in the camera for the particular image to be appied automatically when importing?

Thanks for any guidenace you can offer.  Of course if you need further information or clarification please let me know.

    Scott

This sounds like what you see, Scott? Why the color or tone of my image changes after import?
