  I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite A300D-168 laptop. It was purchased in Germany a month ago. I worked with Windows Vista 32 Bit operating system. I made a copy of my Vista system as described by the Toshiba tool after installation. Yesterday, I removed Vista to install Windows XP Pro SP 2. I downloaded drivers for the laptop, that are fully functional. Only the graphics drivers for Windows XP does not work. After the installation, I got a very bright picture. Only 4 bits - the colors are possible. The solution is switchable between 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768. Relocation and a few restarts did not work.

  A Qosmio X 870 - 13v: i7-3630QM 2.4 Ghz - GeForce GTX 670 M & Intel HD Graphics 4000 - 32 GB of RAM.

  On the Qosmio, I have a BIG problem with little light that have large black stain on it.

  I m a proud owner of the Satellite X 200 with a map single chart (NV8700GT-256). But like most of these screen-no video... Black NV cards. I know, this card can be changed-it s not soldered, but it seems to be a specialized map only made by Toshiba.

  Many sellers (most of them in CN) have these cards and I have googled a lot: NV8700GT with 256 MB or 512 MB. This should be fine without any problem LS - 3443P. But there are other cards sill: LS - 3442P with a chip ATI and 256 or 512 MB of ram. They are used in a note of P200. Some dealers say they are useabe in a 200 X too. The connector seems to be the same as the dimensions of the Board of directors a the place chips. Some say that ATI would be better, cooler and there is no "burn-out". I have no answer until what chip is used-i think it's a series of radeo 2600. Assessment tests provide the same speed as the NV8700GT. But none of them give a real answer - so my question is: has anyone of you experience with this card? Can I choose ATI or upgrade to an NV with 512 MB of ram. Will be my laptop boot up or should I change the bios first? These graphics problems are boring!

  I have senn there are many questions about the maximum amount of ram... I have a DV9000 HP with the same chipset intel PM965M for office. HP says the maximum is 4G (2x2G) as toshi too. (For HP), but this true isn´t! My HP has two modules of 4G with the 2Rx8 specification; 8 tokens, 6400S / 800M, order 8 x 512. With windows vista64 oder w7-64 with no problems. I m going to test it with my toshi after solving the video problem...

  Not sure if the solution in your case, but I read in some discussions that the BIOS update could solve battery problems.

  You will be very happy if someone can give you some good information on this good old classic. I think you don't have a lot of choices there. Either you can use driver Toshiba designed, or search on the net for the latest.

  Video card on your laptop must be Intel 830 MG. Intel download page check and maybe you will find latest driver. Google around a bit and I am sure that you will find enough pages to download the latest version of the driver for this card for Windows XP Home edition.
